They took X-rays and found nothing so I was sent for an MRI which I had done On March 11, 2026. No one in the office was able to confirm whether or not an authorization was needed so my wife and I spent two days coordinating phone calls between the office, insurance company and Wantagh MRI to finally get this straightened out. This begins a world of frustration with this practice. I retuned for my follow up visit March 12, 2026, only to find that that was no concrete issue as to why I am experiencing the pain in my wrist so Dr. Lippe suggested a follow-up visit with the hand specialist and suggested that he call in an Rx for an anti-inflammatory to help me get some immediate relief. When I followed up with my CVS pharmacy Thursday afternoon I was told there was no Rx called in. After several phone calls with the office and being told that they would get back to, it is now Friday, March 13, at 1 PM and still no Rx or relief as I sit here in pain. My wife just called again and was told - "Yes we see the message and will get back to you" now 24 hours later. This was my first time at this practice and I would never return again not for a hand specialist or any doctor for that matter. I have been to many Doctors in my time and never experience such non- compassion or complete incompetence. I will make sure this is posted on every media channel can post it on as I sit here in pain with no relief after spend a week dealing with this incompetent practice. I returned to have my right knee x rayed to determine a solution to my discomfort. This review only references Dr. Robert Lippe, an orthopedic surgery specialist, who examined my injury. From what I read prior to my visit, Dr. Lippe specializes in hip and knee replacements, trauma, and osteoporosis care. Dr. Lippe was knowledgeable, thorough, and quite pleasant. I felt confident that he would provide me with the right choice medical attention for my knee.

I wear a 7.5 shoe and the boot was for 10.5 and bigger. The boot was heavy and hard to avoid hitting furniture and other obstructions. This placed a torque on the ankle and probably hindered the ankle healing. Also upon leaving they asked me if i wanted a disk of the x-rays. I asked them to be emailed in which they replied ok. After not receiving I called and they said they cannot email. Overall the PA appeared competent, but then it digressed.

The office is part of a whole sports medicine complex (separate review coming )and the front desk has a few receptionists for the various doctors within. This guy has a leftover nazi guard for a receptionist to say the least. After running the gauntlet of the front desk guard, you hobble in and see the doctor. Dr. Barkin is quick and efficient- he knows what he is doing and doesn't waste time - you are in and out real quick. I was sent to the Lindenhurst office on a Saturday in the rain and there was no clear entrance. I was outside in the rain with torn ankle ligaments for over 25 minutes unable to reach anyone via phone. Dr Kankare was pleasant and professional and although I was in pain he told me to buy Naproxen over the counter and prescribed no medication.. He gave me a doctors note for two weeks out of work due to injury. On Sunday I was in inscruiating pain and called for over 2.5 hours the numbers on the business card I received at my visit before I was finally contacted by the doctor. Dr. Kankare was adamant about not giving pain medicine stating take motrin. After crying hysterically he agreed to send meds to my pharmacy. I had 3 MRI's on 5/14/18. I emailed the practice Disability forms today required by my employer since Dr. Kankare put me out for two weeks due to no being able to put weight on my ankle or knee and I received a call from Dana stating I needed to pay to have the work disability forms completed. I will seek care somewhere else. This practice has no compassion professional or common courtesy.
