Dr Ben was very gentle when touching my body, and he was very down to Earth. But I remember he had an assistant that stood inside of the room with us who had long, dark hair, a fair complexion and glasses whom was very rude. Never smiled, just pure bitchy. The rest of the staff members seem to be nice women, except for their lead receptionist. I remember she called me once making me feel demanding and obligated to come to the appointments here. She constantly pressured me to make it on time, and I had to put her in her place. I usually got called to be seen from the lobby quick. But waiting for the doctor inside the medical room would sometimes take at least 25 minutes. He gave me an arm shot once and prescribed me a gel that didn't help at all, neither did the physical therapy. After seeing Dr Ben at the Lauderdale Lakes office, I completely stopped business with this company after he stated that a "frozen shoulder" diagnosis is a PROCESS to heal. Then he told me that if I didn't heal within the next 5 months, he'd do surgery on my arm. He obviously was going to FORCE it to heal faster than it should. A friend of mine told me not to do the surgery because it might just be an insurance grab. And when I decided not to do the surgery, my shoulder started feeling better on it's own. You can't FORCE anyone to not have pain, especially when it's a process and everyone heals differently. I don't understand why there are so many bad reviews for this business. read more

Both offices have several doctors and offer physical therapy. The staff is always friendly and attempt to provide a swift transition from the waiting room to the patient examination room, but an appointment is recommended or go straight to Urgent Care. Dr Freanny is one of the most explanatory ortho doctors that I have encountered. Dealing with some doctors that literally walk into the room provide a bandaid and walk out - well anyways thats what it feels like. If it wasn't for him I would've been gone a long time ago because you cannot get through when you need to speak to someone. But they had no problem stating on their phone voicemail and sending me an email saying I'm to pay $50 if I don't show tomorrow. Well that's not gonna happen. They owe me more than that in aggravation. And the last time I had an appointment I was there almost an hour ahead of time and had to wait two hours for my appointment to be seen. I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding my experience at your office. When I called to schedule my appointment, I clearly stated that I am fractured and that the fracture involves my pinky finger. It should be self-evident that I would not know I had a fracture unless I had already been evaluated by a medical professional. A fracture is not something a patient self-diagnoses. The injury occurred after hours, which is why I appropriately sought care at Ortho NOW Emergency, a clinic specifically dedicated to orthopedic emergencies. After being evaluated there, I scheduled a follow-up appointment with your office, fully disclosing my condition during the scheduling call. Based on the information I provided, an appointment was scheduled. I then drove over 50 minutes, checked in, and waited approximately one hour, only to be told that I would not be seen because it was "not the doctor's protocol" to see patients who already had a cast--information that was never disclosed during the phone call. When I respectfully asked the office manager if she could please speak with the doctor or ask whether he would be willing to see me, explaining that I specifically wished to be evaluated by Dr. Sheikh, whom I trust and about whom I have heard many positive things, she told: "I am the office manager and the only one who decides which patients the doctors will or will not see because I know the protocols." At no point was the doctor consulted. When I expressed my frustration and explained that I had driven 50 minutes to the office, the office manager responded by saying that she was not responsible for my driving to the appointment. While that statement may be technically true, she was responsible for the handling of my appointment, the communication of office policies, and the way I was treated as a patient. I was left waiting in pain for an extended period of time, only to be dismissed without care, empathy, or consideration. There was a complete lack of concern for my physical discomfort, time, and emotional distress caused by this situation. This experience reflects a serious failure in communication, professionalism, and patient-centered care. Denying a patient access to a physician after confirming an appointment and allowing her to wait in pain, based on criteria that were never disclosed, should not be acceptable practice. I had same experience with my daughter, who had hard cast on in the other doctor's office and dr Hajian pour saw her, and when I mentioned she said, "Dr. Hajian pour doesn't work any more!!" I expect this complaint to be reviewed thoroughly and addressed appropriately. read more

Total orthopedic care is a very busy place , Dr Feaney was very nice and helpful .He ordered an X-ray and lucky for me I did not break my shoulder or arm. However Im still in limited movement and still in pain. Im praying it will go away soon. The doctor did give me good advice not to carry my purse on the bad side and also to exercise the arm but not carry anything over 5 pounds. I was very happy with the treatment and professionalism at this office. The clinic is spotless and all the staff are nice and welcoming. I was X-Rayed and shortly after saw The ARNP Mauricio Nunez. After a full examination he explained the condition to me in an extremely caring way. He gave his option on treatment which calls for less evasive measures before surgery. They quickly gave me a shot to reduce pain and inflammation. I'm so glad I chose this office (which offers physical therapy right on site). Thank you Mr. Nunez and all the staff. Xray staff will tell you to walk fast to get to the xray room and pull your legs and body in a hard painful way. Dr. Sheikh is extremely rude, doesn't listen, talks over you and wants you out of his office right away so he can get to the next patient. He has horrible bedside manner. Assumes things about you without knowing or asking you. Place is not that clean, disorganized, staff is dismissive, poor customer service but they are good at getting you an appointment. Their goal is to get people in there. The office reminds me of a DMV or some underprivileged place you do not want to visit and you just wish everything is over with so you can get out of there. I wish I read the reviews before I went there. They were the ones who 1) answered the phone 2) gave me an appointment. This place is a mill. They have zero knowledge of privacy and exhibit little care. I could barely walk and wanted to feel better. I had an appointment at 9am. I wasn't called until 10:30am. They used my first name, and full name when calling for me several times to the counter. They asked me for my allergies at the counter, with zero respect for my privacy as guaranteed by the federal law HIPAA. Each time I was called to the counter, the place was so crowded, I lost my seat. The x-ray technician called my name, and waited at the door while I struggled to stand up from the chair. When He asked how my day was going, I said, "Shitty." He said - me too. I was floored. I was put in a room where the computer was open, not locked. On one screen was the open electronic health record, and someone's inbox. I took photos. On the second screen was someone's medical record. The PA and Dr. Haijanpour examined me, then they asked to move me to another room. Did I mention that I was in so much pain, that I could barely walk? No one helped me. They did a second round of x-rays, again, no one helped me. Before I left he first examing room, I asked the technician to close my record. She said, it was no problem because she was going to dictate but made no move to close my record. I stood there and insisted until she closed my record. Dr. Haijanpour gave me three bad copies of physical therapy excercises and told me that I was 50 not 15, that running was bad, and to do these exercises, that if I did them one hour in the morning and at night, that I would "really sweat." These were exercises NOT related to my injury. He said he didn't care to exercise. When I asked for help with walking, for PT, and for a temp handicap placard, he told me that we "were not on the same page." He then told me that I had a tumor on my thigh and "that if it was cancer, that I was dead." Then he ordered a stat MRI. I got an MRI appointment for that night, Tuesday, 6/26. when I left the office, I received a call from the MRI center that I couldn't get the MRI. After several calls with my insurance, I learned that TOC hadn't done the necessary paperwork for the Stat MRI. Do i have cancer? I felt like this was a bait and switch and after reading other reviews of Dr. H, have come to the conclusion that this is his terrible style of practicing medicine. read more

I took my mom there yesterday. Doctor Hajianpour walked in the room, acted like he knew her because he didn't even ask how her injury happened or what led up to her pain and said there's nothing for me to do for her. After that, he tried to show me an exercise to do with her neck and when I asked him a question while he was showing me, he made a gesture like he wanted to choke me and said that I wasn't letting him finish. My poor Mom was in a lot of pain so I had given her pain med. He told me that was the worst thing that I was doing, that I needed to leave her alone, let her lay in And leave her alone. How can you leave someone alone that is in so much pain as I left the office my mom started yelling because she was in excruciating pain. I asked the front desk to please call 911 so I could take her to the emergency room The front desk girl tried, but she said something was wrong with her phone and it wouldn't go through the supervisor got me a wheelchair and escorted me out because I told her that I would take my mom to the emergency room. The supervisor was very good but I will tell you this if your mom or relative or anyone you know has pain or anything, I would definitely think twice of taking my mother or any relative of mine to this place. His assistants are also very generous with their time and care. In an office filled with people, we did not feel rushed or belittled. Dr Haj took his time to listen and address my mothers broken wrist and her hip and back injuries. In my opinion he and his staff (including the front desk staff) went above and beyond their required duties to ensure my mother would have a successful recovery. Let me just say that these are the kind of doctors and offices who believe that no matter how bad they treat their patients, they're always going to have work and because of this, they don't care about how they're perceived. Doctor Hajianpour simply came in- proceeded to call me obese, big, and heavy several times when I was there for a leg injury that not AT ALL related to my weight- then grabs my leg and in the most brute way, proceeded to squeeze my calf and to rotate my ankle over and over completely disregarding the excruciating pain I was in (ruptured plantaris muscle). There was never a warning that it might be painful or that he needed to do this and apologizing for what was to come. Nothing, simply being ruthless and disregarding my feelings. But wait... there's more! All of the sudden this heartless doctor starts speaking about my "symptoms" in what sounds like a summary. He calls me obese, big, and heavy in his summary as well which leads me to belief he has something for females that don't look like models- and says "no signs of swelling" and continues. My significant other, in a very polite manner, excuses herself for interrupting and before she even got her sentence across was rudely told to shut up because "the doctor is recording".... I'm sorry, but once again, would you not think it's common sense to tell us that you're recording? to communicate with your patients? But most importantly, to not be a total dick to my significant other or myself? No, no... too much to ask for. So he stops the recording- both Doctor and nurse now look annoyed that we so rudely interrupted the recording we didn't know what happening in the first place to state- swelling does not mean swollen. And proceeds to continue recording. Listen, we're not doctors- and I want to call bullshit on his explanation- but obviously don't have the knowledge to know if there's a difference in the word choice or not. All I know is that you don't have to be rude and you're supposed to be there to answer our concerns. Not to mention that my leg is twice the size of what it should be- which makes my significant other's question one of value. But that's not where it ends- he tells me to go outside and get the prescriptions from his checkout clerks. I go outside and there are two women sitting out there- neither of them acknowledged me as I stood in front of them. They were in the middle of a personal conversation which apparently was way more important than my discomfort while I stood there, in crutches, waiting for them. Once the conversation was over, one of them finally addresses me. Asks me for my name, give it to her, she hands me one piece of paper. I say "is this all?" and she gives me attitude. "What's ALL?" she says. I then proceed to explain that the doctor said he was prescribing several things. She goes, "no, I have to give you others". Now... call me biased at this point, but if I ask "is this all?" and you have not giving me "all" then I would think the answer is pretty straightforward, but I guess that depends on who you ask, right?. Then she gives me another paper. Wait 60 seconds in silence. Gives me another paper. Another 60 seconds in silence. And this goes on until I have my 5 prescriptions. Then silence. I have to stand there and ask HER if we're done because once again, I guess I was asking for too much when I expected her to tell me something along the lines of "do you have any questions?" or "ok ma'am, that was all. Have a good day!" or anything. But no, last paper is given and silence. So I leave and think I'm finally done with them. But of course not- I called to schedule the MRI and was told that they needed the prescription and doctors notes to proceed. I call this hell hole again and speak to a lady that tells me she needs to send over the info, puts me on hold, and transfers me to a random number without telling me that I'm being transferred. The lack of professionalism all around really angers me. They do not give two shits about their patients. If you have the option, trust me, go somewhere else. read more

My experience was beyond Horrible. My appointment was at 12pm on 09-12-2022 I arrived at 11:30am filled out all the paper work and gave the receptionist the report and ct-scan with the completed paper work. The waiting started I sat for 2 hours waiting to see Dr. Berkowitz. People came in after I had sat there and was taken to the examination rooms. Throughout this entire time I watched receptionist eat pizza and the nurses checking the charts would pick up the charts fumble through the pages put it back and do the same with other charts. we are now 2.5 hours I was finally called in for an x-ray after the e-x-ray I was put in a tiny examination room where I waited and waited with the door closed. After a while I started feeling closed in and more aggravated I got up and opened the door I was told that I couldn't sit in the examination room with the door opened I told her I about to leave I'm tired of waiting. Finally the Doctor showed up the first thing out of his mouth I hear you are not satisfied with the service "no I'm not" he then began look at the ex-ray He stated I don't see anything on the ex-ray they must have used a machine we don't have when he turned around I was waving the cd with the ct-scan he instructed the nurse to down load the CD and then oops its already there. needless to say he never opened the chart to see what was there. There was another couple that got very upset and left because they had sat there longer than me. Needless to say I will never go there again and I telling anyone that will listen of my experience and advising them to go elsewhere for orthopedic assistance. read more

Throughout my visits this past year, Dr. Berkowitz was thorough and always concerned about the quality of my treatment knowing I was an athlete and wanted reassurance of my ROM of my dominant arm. I had a displaced spiral fracture of the shaft of my humerus and lesion of the radial nerve. As an older adult experiencing my first major injury, I was grateful I was a patient of Dr. Berkowitz. He is compassionate and informative in guiding you through therapy and recovery to regain your quality of life. He went out of his way several times to make sure I received the equipment and therapy I needed. He sent detailed correspondence to my insurance company and spoke with agencies assisting in my ongoing therapy. I admire and respect his approach to patient care. The staff at both locations are totally incompetent. They are rude and extremely unprofessional. When you observe how they work is a train wreck. I was just told I had a back bill that after several visits thought I was covered those visits. Always ordering X rays when in my case were not needed. During lunch time office smelt like a restaurant. Wanted all my records before I left and was told I had to request them from another person some patient compliance officer. There my goddam records an I should get them after the visit. Please stay away from this place. So far I have been here an hour and haven't seen anyone! I guess since lunch was delivered they are all eating. However the office is not as crowded I should be seen!!! Just got out after two hours, if you don't value your time this is the place for you because obviously the staff doesn't respect your time.
