Absolute joke of a pediatric emergency room. We walked in with my son's hand completely covered in blood--he needed stitches--and there was ZERO sense of urgency. From the initial check-in, to the nurse, to finally seeing the doctor almost an hour later... no one moved with any urgency whatsoever. Meanwhile, staff were casually talking about who was going to lunch--as if nothing was happening--while my child was there bleeding. And the worst part? We were there for FOUR AND A HALF HOURS just to get four stitches. This isn't the first time either. The lack of care, the slow response, the complete disregard for patients--it's becoming a pattern at this hospital. Unacceptable. read more

The attention from the entire team at Memorial Miramar Hospital was excellent, caring, friendly, and professional at all times. The hospital is extremely clean and well maintained, and access is very easy, which helps a lot in stressful moments. The rooms are comfortable and thoughtfully designed, including a couch for any family member who needs or wants to stay. Overall, the staff is very people-oriented and supportive, which made a real difference for both the patient and our family. They specialize in maternity and intensive care. They have a very well equipped team to deliver attention and care, just wish they could also offer cancer treatment in this center. read more

Came here for myself in the evening after the medication they prescribed earlier in the morning wasn't working. I sat in a room for approximately 40 minutes waiting on a medical staffer. Finally a PA came in with an attitude trying to convince me to go home and let the pain and antibiotics medications I received in the morning work and it's now 7:40pm. She wasn't hearing my medical complaint she just wanted me out of there. I guess making me wait 40 minutes didn't work so she just tried being condescending. I even told her i was concerned about the tooth becoming septic and she didn't care. Didn't want to hear what i had to say. I thought the medical field was moving toward pain management but you wouldn't think so if you got this PA I had on 4/12/26 at 1940. I received no care but $100 being removed from my financial state. We had an overall great experience at the Women's Center--especially thanks to Paula at registration and her trainee, who both did an amazing job and made the process smooth. Unfortunately, everything went downhill once we left the 1971 Building to head to the Main Entrance. Between 2:50 PM and 3:15 PM, we asked the Allied Security personnel (Cassandra and a male guard) if we could walk through the building to the main entrance instead of going outside in the heat. My wife had just come out of a procedure and already had a wristband with all of her information, but instead of issuing me a simple guest pass, we were told to walk outside. This forced my wife, who was still recovering, to walk in the heat unnecessarily. To make it worse, the guard seemed more interested in chatting with her coworker than helping us. Everyone else we interacted with did a good job, but this one experience left such a bad impression that I won't be scheduling future appointments here. I'd rather wait for openings at another Memorial Hospital location. read more

Reviewing the Live Online Lamaze Interactive Birthing Class by instructor Luisa Shulruff. This course was 6 sessions (Each 2 hours in length) usually 1x a week, 2x for 1 week from the comfort of our own home. Having the evening time worked great for my husband to be able to join me after work. Luisa is a well informed, kind and passionate instructor. Her background as a Certified Childbirth Educator and medical professional was apparent and appreciated. We looked forward to each class. Prior to this class I had read so many books along with my own extensive research and felt like it aligned with the hypnotherapy I knew of and I still learned a lot! Well worth the cost for what you get. She made sure we had a labor toolbox, our balls were right for our, our partners knew what to do, and felt comfortable asking questions. I plan to deliver at the West Location but since this course was online, I was able to join! We even have an in person labor rehearsal to look forward to with the same instructor, for free. read more

Since 2005, Memorial Miramar-Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital has been helping some of the mommas in our family deliver our most precious gifts. In like manner, they have cared for those babies and still--seventeen years later--are providing the ultimate medical care to a couple of them who need just a little more special attention from the Joe DiMaggio specialists. Memorial Miramar is known in our area as a boutique hospital with less than 200 beds, but don't let its beauty and pristinely kept grounds sway you from choosing to go there in an emergency, for a scheduled surgery, or any other medical care. With the exception of a trauma unit, they have state-of-the-art technology and capabilities, and their nursing staff is knowledgeable, experienced, and caring. They must also pay and treat their employees well, since I've spoken to a few that have been with the Memorial Health System for a couple of decades. Security here is tight and several checkpoints must be crossed, especially when visiting newborns. Given that I carry the proverbial Let's Make a Deal bag, they always look inside to make sure I'm not taking a baby with me! But everyone has been swift, professional and courteous through the process. Last, but not least, I want to cover the meals here. The food is good, not boring or bland. My daughter had chicken Marsala recently and said it was amazing! The ladies who take your "order" are patient and even offer suggestions on the most "popular" foods. If you're visiting, their cafeteria is open from 6:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.; M-F. Saturday and Sunday they are open for breakfast and lunch only. They also have a separate cafe. A big shout out goes to a couple of nurses: Kimmy and Cathy (second floor) whom I had the pleasure of meeting and talking with. Technicians, nurses, doctors, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), food service, cleaning service, and everybody else we interacted with at this hospital were simply AMAZING! Very seldom do we see a place that can gather all this talent with a high sense of vocation for what they do. I recently delivered my daughter at Memorial Hospital Miramar, and it was truly a beautiful experience. From the moment I walked through the ER, they were friendly and pointed us to the correct location in which we went through the triage. In that area, they were kind and cautious and kept me up to date on how they were updating my doctor. Once admitted, which was fairly quickly, I was moved to labor and delivery where I met my nurse and the training nurse, they went through the procedure and had me sign the consent forms while explaining everything throughly. During the process, they kept me comfortable and offered whatever could be provided prior to delivery. I had previously spoken to the hospitals Director of Anesthesia as my previous births the epidural failed, she walked me through my options and notated my file before I went to delivery of my previous experiences. Once I decided that I wanted to go in the direction of getting the epidural, my anesthesiologist came in, talked through my options, fully examined my spine and made me feel comfortable about her doing the procedure. I am happy to say, that this time, the epidural worked, and it provided me with a better and more comfortable delivery making it much more manageable and easier to greet my daughter. Throughout my labor, I was so grateful that there wasn't a large amount of staff coming in and out as with my previous deliveries, the whole experience felt very intimate, during the pushing phase, it was just myself, my husband, my doctor, my nurse and the pediatric nurse, so much better than a room filled with staff making you nervous. My baby was born healthy within minutes, and everyone was so warm, friendly and kind. Once we moved to recovery, we met more nurses, all of which took the best care of my daughter and myself. On night two, a nurse named Kimmy really went above on beyond to speak with me about nursing, she was very kind. Much like all of the nurses, they truly make you feel cared for and comfortable. My only slight negative are the pediatrician that are assigned to assess the babies, there was a lack of human empathy, seemed very "like a number" when they were examining the baby and frankly scared you into thinking that your baby was not healthy. Now, there is a way to still have bedside mannerisms as the nurse staff had. The only other complaint is the food, but I guess hospital food is never the greatest. I would highly recommend Memorial Miramar for their professionalism and caring staff for labor and delivery! read more

This hospital was not the original hospital my mother was being sent to from the nursing home because the ambulance took more than two hours to arrive on her insurance plan. 911 was called and my mother was brought to the closes hospital Memorial Miramar. Memorial Hospital Miramar admitted my mother and took good care of her in the ER as well as the third-floor nurses and doctors. I really like Patricia not a nurse but an above cna, a lot. It seems like there is a shortage of nurses running the floor. My mother came in with no covid but left with covid. I don't know where or how she got this in the hospital. The entire time Mom was there I was pressured to pick a hospice company but I did not want to rush into this so quickly. I did speak with the wonderful administrator who fixed the problem for me and mom was allowed to return to her home to recuperate She was admitted on June 6 and left on June 22. read more

Avoid Isabel Brasil. This nurse practitioner was extremely dismissive, inconsiderate, and rude. I went in for treatment with my cousin and she basically told my cousin there was nothing wrong with her even though she was experiencing pain. She even said at one point "If there was something seriously wrong with you you would be dead already". Insane comment. My cousin requested a CT scan as her own doctor before recommended but the pain was too much she wanted it asap hence why we came to the hospital. The nurse practitioner ordered one but made her reluctance to do so very clear. When my cousin wanted to cancel it due to the comments and the rude attitude, the nurse practitioner came back in with an argumentative attitude and said we were a "complete waste of time" while throwing her hands up. This is unacceptable behavior coming from a care provider who is supposed to make you feel comfortable and heard, she did quite the opposite. read more

I came to ER on a Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. and was seen I less than five minutes. The staff kept me apprised of everything that was happening in the moment as well as everything that was planned for my treatment. The facilities are very clean and well maintained. From housekeeping to orderlies to transporters to volunteers, students, nurses, doctors and everyone else on the staff made my comfort, care, and recovery their priority. I came in twice to the ER. Once August 2022 for my aunt who was in terrible shape and yesterday, April 2023 for chest pains after COVID. August 2022- wait time was 7 minutes, and everyone jumped in immediately and took back to back tests for her. There were so many nurses and doctors and techs in the ER department and I couldn't remember everyone's name due to so much going on. They took her into ICU for two weeks. Garfield, Laura, and the rest of the team took the most amazing care for her and I'm forever grateful. April 2023- wait time was less than 5 minutes. Iman (I believe was her name) took my EKG & put me in my room and she was extremely sweet. My nurse Lauren was the absolute BEST. Caring, funny, and confident in everything she was doing. I knew I was in good hands. My doctors, Dr.Fernandez and Dr.Hernandez, were also amazing. Extremely thorough and they waited till all our questions were answered. My other nurse Sherley was also great, it was just towards when I was leaving so I didn't spend much time with her! And Frankie who took my IV out was great too! I'm dramatic when it comes to needles and I didn't feel much :) Memorial MIRAMAR is my favorite hospital. All the staff I've ever come in contact with have been kind and caring. This was the hospital where my baby was just born the other day. I was amazed by how attentive the nurses were from the very beginning. They were all very nice and we're always willing to offer much needed advice and or answer any questions we had. Now, the food on the other hand was yammy. I mean Yeah, little seasoning But it's how it should be after you come out of such a major surgery, and are now preparing to breastfeed as well as to recuperate. You will have a well balanced meal with everything your body and baby needs. Just be aware that the moment a nurse hands you a paper with recommendations to go home and the meds your doctor prescribed you. That means : Get ready to go home! You are being discharged ! I was given this paper without the specifications so it caught me off guard and unprepared both mentally and physically. read more

After going to this ER, I was admitted to their hospital. My private room was clean and well equipped with a private bathroom with shower, bed, couch, and reclining chair, a generous nice space. Too bad due to covid-19, patients can not have anyone accompany them, visit or stay overnight. I think the only exception is patients giving birth. My nurses Cynthea, Patrice, and Denise were all very kind. My nurses Stephanie and Suki in the Pre-Op area were also wonderful. These nurses were caring and made a huge impact on my wellness. I was treated very well and felt extremely comfortable the whole time I was there. These front line workers are essential & hero's! Unfortunately I've been here in the ER twice in the past month or so. What an incredible experience. They are very kind, compassionate. The Dr, nurse, and the entire staff was very caring. This hospital has only brought in 1 person into the E.R in the past 2 hours. They went from 3-4 patients out here to about 30 and nobody has received a bed or anything. They don't give you a time or nothing. If You ask what's the wait time they say sorry we can't give you a time. There are so many people here that there are no chairs to sit down. This is ridiculous. We pay too much money to out health insurance to have to deal With these super slow hospitals when we are having an actual emergency. These hospitals advertise a 19-30 min wait time and it's like 6-7 hours to be seen. You will die in the waiting room hoping for a dr to see you. read more

This review is for my mom, who suffered at memorial hospital for many hours before she was transferred to another location and had an unexpected surgery. The other location communicated with me. My mom was transported by ambulance to this hospital and they treated her less than human. They let her scream in agony for hours. When I called them, the person who answered the phone had a smirk in her voice when I gave her my mom's name and said 'oh yeah she's here alright' -- I assume because my mom's screams were heard by everyone in that Emergency Room, so much so I guess she thought it was funny? Are your staff so desensitized that a woman screaming for hours in pain is funny? Are they so arrogant that they feel it's fine to express this to the patient's family member? They gave my mother morphine, at my insistence, but the morphine didn't touch her pain and they did nothing else. Do you realize there are different types of pain, and medicines that treat different types of pain? Suffering is never acceptable. The World Health Organization highlights pain relief as an important humans rights issue. Here we are in the United States and you all cannot come up with a treatment plan that addresses her pain. I called the hospital and spoke to the charge nurse several times, who seemed like she was trying to help, but ultimately fell short. She promised that the ER doctor would call me to tell me what's going on. I never received a call. At one point when I called, one of your staff said "yes the CT scan results are in but I can't talk to you about them. I am not allowed to practice beyond the scope of my license. Someone will call you to discuss the CT scan results." To this day, I have not received a call. How awful is your system that not a single person called me to explain what was found on the CT scan? How many patients suffer because of your broken system? When I called my mom, she was in agonizing pain. All night, she was in excruciating pain. Do you know how long five minutes feels when you're in excruciating pain? Now imagine that all night. This hospital is taking advantage of family members not being allowed into the ER due to pandemic related restrictions -- they are abusing these circumstances and treating patients terribly. I have PTSD from that night when my mom was on the phone with me screaming in agonizing pain. My mom has medical trauma as a result of this experience. These folks need to take a good hard look at the systems they've set up that dehumanize patients with such casualness. I recognize the pandemic is tough -- it's tough on everyone -- but if you've lost your ability to care, you should not be providing health care services. If you can't practice responsible and quality medical care, which includes communicating with patients and their families, then what are you even doing? I will be writing letters about this experience to AHCA and to other overseeing agencies. I can't fix your systems, but I hope this review and the letters at least makes you pause and I hope this review helps others avoid this place, if they can. read more

"The service was terrible. The nurse who attended to us last night was very rude and unapproachable. Despite the hospital being empty, we had to wait a long time. When the new nurse started his shift, he roughly removed the IV from my husband's hairy arm without being careful. He also claimed he couldn't call in the prescriptions to the pharmacy because it was closed, even though it's a 24/7 pharmacy at Pines and 158. We went there five minutes after discharge, and it was open as usual and we got the prescription. No wonder the hospital was empty! read more

The care from the nurse were amazing with their customer service and caring but it all went downhill once the PA. have walked in the room. The PA at the emergency who didn't want to give his name and was cutting off and talking over my girlfriends and wasn't listening to anything she had to say. And had to request someone else who was a nurse. who did 10x as better in being professional and caring for her. overall was the worst service I have experienced over the phone with the PA. And this is my very first review I have ever made, and that should tell you how upset I am with the service from the PA. I had my first baby on 2019 in this hospital and the nurses were good but they didn't help me as much in the breast feeding journey how I thought they would. Now, I just had my second two weeks ago and the experience was so much better ! I had three incredible nurses and human beings. They were extremely attentive, they explained me everything with so much details and I feel like they really cared about me and my baby. Pascale, Vernice and Alexandra made my second birth and my breastfeeding journey so much easy and relaxing. I was a patient there in January when I went to the ER on a Thursday with abdominal pain. I was seen by a nurse practitioner relatively quickly, they diagnosed my problem, I had surgery the next day, and was out by Saturday. Went to have my mammogram done at Memorial Hospital Miramar, the greeter was Anisa Knowles, she's a young lady but memorial should advise her to greet patients coming in, never once did she acknowledge me, she just took the paperwork without eye contact, in addition, her chewing gum should be to a minimal and not be chewed so aggressively. Great hospital with honest and friendly staff. I like the fact to get into the hospital they check your ID and when going into the nursery section of the hospital your checked at least twice. Staff went really above and beyond to make us comfortable during a difficult time. They never complained about how many times we needed more blankets,pillows, and even ice chips. The extra plus for me is visiting hours are 24-7, you can have as many people in your room that fit, and we were all allowed to sleep there to give extra comfort to our family member. This really meant alot to our family as everyone had different work schedules so there was always someone able to be with our loved one. read more

When I was a LEO, I would take my patients to uthis hospital, if they requested it. Everything from fender bender's, whiplash, to fractures, to internal medical issues. I worked for the City of Miami Gardens, and it was 10 minutes away, but in Broward County. Even though there was a hospital within the city limits, most people choose to go the Memorial for better service and better outcomes. I had a few personal on the job related injuries and I was preferably taken to Memorial (they just treated LEO's better). I found the place clean, orderly, neat, well-managed, and respectful of privacy. The staff members were extremely professional and nice. Their hospitality spoke volumes of their reputation that preceded them. The last time I was checked in there for an injury, I was there for about 5 hours, while the staff ran some precautionary test. I was given my own private area for safety, and numerous staff members checked on me regularly. My fellow officers and admin was able to stop by and check on me. I was greatly taken cared of, and what a great feeling when 'you hear of horror stories at other places. This is a Great hospital, great staff, great results! Thanks for everything. read more
