I used to train with Kristie, the owner's wife, at another gym long ago and reconnected with her on Facebook, only to discover this hidden gem of a training gym right in my hood - which happens to be owned by her husband. So, I went in for a consultation and was hooked. It's not a large location, but the heart is large in this one my friend! I now train with Kevin Ryan twice a week in a small training group. The price is reasonable for the small group and the workout is never boring. Kevin is always available via text or phone if I have nutrition questions or questions about anything else. He is encouraging and I look forward to my workouts. If you're looking to lose weight, or improve your health, I highly recommend checking this place out. Ok, so I may be a bit biased here as I know one of the owners of TPF. However, I must say it is one of the BEST gyms I've been too!! So many good things to say!! 1) Trainers First of all, the trainers are AWESOME!!! I must say I used to be very active in college and then adulthood happened and couldn't make it to the gym as often as I wanted to and I definitely wasn't eating as healthy as I wanted to. Needless to say, I gained unwanted weight over the years and didn't feel good about myself. So I decided to make a change. I started training with Brian Stutson last April. He is AWESOME!!! It was only an hour at a time about once a week or so. He had me do a variety of workouts - cardio, lifting. He pushed me, but he also made it super fun because the routine was always changing! Over the next several months, I found myself getting stronger, faster and overall feeling better! I also started eating healthy again. Overall, after about 3-4 months, I lost about 10 lbs! Seriously, no joke! I've been keeping up with it and feel great!! Brian's wife, Kristie also teaches some of the kids there. She is WONDERFUL! Super friendly and encouraging! Of note, she is currently pregnant and I have never seen any other preggers as fit as her! All the other trainers are awesome too!! They really know what they are doing and pay attention to your goals - whether that is to lose 20 lbs, get better abs, or just getting lean and trim. They are always changing their routine every time you train with them so you never get bored! One day, you may be focusing more on cardio, other days you may be doing more lifting. Either way, they make it super fun! 2) Classes I really like the small focus classes! There are only about 3-5 people at a time. It's perfect for people who don't like those overwhelming big workout classes that other gyms have. I also take the boxing class taught by Kevin Ryan. It's a high cardio workout that gets you sweating in no time! It's such a GREAT class with a GREAT instructor! You're definitely gonna have fun with it! Plus, what's better than taking all the built up stress from life/work/what have you and taking it out on a bag?? Nothing! The now have American Ninja Warrior classes which look like so much fun too! I have yet to try that! 3) Gym The size of the gym is perfect! It's nice and just big enough for one on one training and small classes. It's not overwhelming with 500 different machines that you don't know how to use. 4) The people/staff Again, please refer to #1. Everyone is super friendly and very welcoming! This includes not only the staff, but the clients. It's a place where you can feel comfortable and not intimidated at all! Everyone is so encouraging! It's a gym family :) 5) Location Living in the city (originally from the burbs), it's nice to be able to go to a gym with a PARKING LOT!!! that's FREE! I have been working out regularly since I was about 16 years old, so exercise is very important to me and I am extremely selective. When I was in my early 30s I began training with Virgil, one of the owners, in a small group setting and was hooked on his training style immediately. I also lost about ten percent of my body fat. This was 12 years ago, and it has been a pleasure watching these trainers build something great this past year at Total Performance Factory. Their workouts will never be boring and they are completely effective for your body. Before training with Virgil, I thought a leisurely run was a decent workout. Wow was I wrong! Workouts at this gym combine boxing, strength, endurance, agility and speed. They make you feel like an athlete! And every trainer is different, and can provide their own spin on things if maybe you aren't a big runner or boxer for example. So yes, I recommend going here!! It's like nothing you'll experience anywhere else. It isn't a "one size fits all" combination of training moves or workout plans. You will find the right trainer or group setting that works best for your body. So check it out! read more

This place is definitely worth the money. The trainers are friendly, knowledgable, and motivating. Whatever your fitness level they'll work with you and you'll get a good workout. Any concern I've had they could address immediately, and I'm sure if they didnt have the answer they'd find it. I think I sweat more here in a month than in 8 years at my old gym. They work you hard but an hour passes in no time. My 11 year old son does the Youth Athletic Training class and he loves it. In a short amount of time it's already improved his endurance and speed during hockey. I have no experience with the Jui-jitsu offered, but I'm sure it's wonderful too. Recently, the owner ordered TPF hoodies and they sold out in a day which is testament to the love and pride the members have for this place. I think anybody who gives it a shot will love it here too. read more

Great place to get fit and have fun at the same time! Boxing hybrid class is a must! Definitely try this gym, you won't regret it.

Took my first class at Total Performance today. I am prepping for American Ninja Warrior, and took Brian's adult class. It was a great workout; I got knocked around pretty hard, just the sort of thing I was hoping for. They have re-created a number of the obstacles from the show, and have a great set up to train strength and agility. The other people in the class were very friendly, and I would really recommend this as a place to get in shape or to hone your skills as you prepare for Mt. Midoriyama. read more

My son has been going to the ninja training program for about 3 months, and he loves it. Not only have I seen a noticable increase in his strength and agility but more importantly in his confidence. The kids and adults as well are very supportive no matter your skill level. Kudos to TPF for putting together such a great program. I resently starting taking some classes myself and I have to say. I have been curious about this gym for a while given that it is just a few blocks from where I live, so when I saw a "6 week challenge" advertisement, I couldn't help but give it a try. I went in for consultation on 10.13 and after speaking to Brian, I decided to just DO IT!. There is a food program involved, you can work out as many times as you want, but the recommendation is 3 times a week (I did 5-6) and you are required to weigh in about once a week to monitor the progress. My goal was to lose 17 pounds. I am 2 days away from 6 weeks completed and am 16 pounds down, but most importantly I never felt better. I look completely different after just 6 weeks, and I feel like I am finally eating better, feeling better and with this gym, I am also having fun. I am certainly not the type to get on a treadmill for an hour or do weight lifting on my own so group exercises are exactly what I need. I take both boxing and boot camp classes, mostly at night. Trainers are great and since the class size is fairly small (10-20) ppl, you almost feel like you are getting personal training. If they see that you are doing something wrong, they correct you and encourage you to do more. Even though I belong to a different gym, I also plan to sign up for this one after the challenge is over. By the way, the challenge is free as long as you meet your goal, so you have nothing to lose (except unwanted pounds :-)). The challenge itself requires a little work, I won't lie. Food prep, water intake, time for exercise etc. but it is so worth it and after about 2 weeks you feel like this is the norm and I personally can't imagine going back to the time before the challenge when I thought I was eating good and exercising enough, when in fact, that was not the case at all. I took this challenge very seriously and was all IN and if you are ready to do the same, this is truly the place to be! read more

This gym is amazing. I don't particularly like to work out but the atmosphere and the staff make is fantastic. The boxing/boot camp is a great challenge but I would say it is designed for individual success. The live calorie tracking is a fun added extra that let's your competitive side show. There are not enough good things I can say about Total Performance Factory. They have a variety of classes and one on one training that cater to meet your goals. You can do weightloss, sports performance or just staying in shape and not feel uncomfortable at all. Classes are set up to be small group sessions where you can box, cardio circuit or weight train. Kevin, Virgil and Brian have all kicked my butt many times and I always feel great after a session with one of them. read more
