Nurses are incredibly caring and attentive. Three hours a day of rehab (Occupational, Physical, and Speech); I will update this review once she is discharged. My next door neighbors in also at this same rehab; she too has been treated well. I believe this is a short term rehab hospital verses a long term one. But it definitely is a 5 star compared to other rehab hospital in the area. The location of the rehab is in an excellent location as well. It is directly across the Street from the Mary Washington Hospital ER.

I had had a second seizure along with other health issues, (pneumonia, UTI, SEPSIS which brought me there. I WAS VERY SICK. In spite of it, I bent over backwards to b pleasant because the good workers deserved it. I arrived at Encompass late, approximately 11:30 PM, but had been told I'd go there at 3 pm. I guess you were running late. The intake team was very good and welcoming. I was told what my basic days there would entail. I wanted to come home badly so knew I would do all I was asked to make that hope a reality. I met and worked with many people (nurses, CNAs, occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech therapists, doctors, and case managers....) I had only one real issue with an occupational therapist and I did report her, which is not me at all. All I know is her first name was Cheryl, and she doesn't work there often. She should never spend a day working there. She came at 8 am for me to take a shower my 3rd day with you. I have chronic back pain resulting from three major back surgeries and hot showers help the pain so much. I was so looking forward to that shower. I admit I was very weak, and her method ,involved my doing everything myself, and talking down to me when I struggled I took her condescending attitude but my being anxious and not trusting her made my pain level shoot sky-high. I tried to talk to Cheryl, but she treated me as nothing but an imposition. I told her another OT had helped me shower two days earlier to which she rudely replied, "so you don't really even need a shower.". I hadn't slept for a week and was quite emotionally down and did not need to be talked to like I was a child and a problem. My husband came to see me a few hours later and found me crying in my bed - not a good experience!!! The other therapists I worked with were good. It's a shame how one person who has no business being around people who need encouragement and compassion to recover can ruin the entire process. I hope my experience was not the norm.

I'm currently a patient at Carriage Hill recovering from a surgery and have been here for some time. I can't say enough good things about the center as a whole. The first thing I noticed is the lack of urine and antiseptic smell. It smells fresh and clean throughout. It's very clean and orderly. The patients and full time residents are in good spirits. There are daily activities to keep residents busy, happy and laughing. Just last week there was a band and a cookout. The nursing staff and CNA staff are michelan standard and I don't say that lightly. These folks care about the patients here and it shows. They're not faking it. The administration is made up of kind people that took the time to get to know me when I came in. The dining room is wonderful. The food is so good. The kitchen staff treat us like family and the variety is there. Again, the cleanliness is unmatched. Every staff member that I've met has been helpful and kind. The physical therapy crew that I've been working with are patient and kind and have helped me to feel better and get on my way to healing. I'm only here for a short time and hope I will never have to be a full time resident anywhere. But, if that happens I would chose Carriage Hill in a heartbeat.

My father stayed at Falls Run Nursing Home and Rehabilitation for a few weeks before he passed…read moreaway, and our experience was deeply disappointing. Throughout his stay, we witnessed repeated instances of negligence and lack of proper care that could have easily been avoided. On more than one occasion, my father fell from his bed because staff failed to ensure the floor mats were in place. Despite the first fall, the same mistake happened again a week later, when they forgot to replace the floor cushion after a meal. We also discovered that the wheelchair provided to him was faulty--it only had one functioning lock on one wheel. One day, while my mother briefly stepped away during a walk outside and after locking his wheelchair, he slipped down and off a curb, causing him to fall off the wheelchair. Even one of the head nurses, Heather, acknowledged that the wheelchair was defective. The most devastating incident occurred the night he passed. My father repeatedly told the nurse he was having difficulty breathing. Although she gave him oxygen, he was becoming increasingly confused and kept removing the mask. Knowing this, she should have checked on him more frequently--but instead, he was left unattended for nearly an hour, during which he passed away. To make matters worse, we are now receiving bills from the facility, even though his insurance confirmed that his stay was covered. I do want to acknowledge that there were a few kind and attentive staff members--specifically James, and Brea - who showed genuine care and compassion during his time there. Unfortunately, their efforts were overshadowed by the facility's overall lack of responsibility and attention to patient safety. Our family trusted this facility with my father's care during his most vulnerable time, and that trust was broken. I cannot in good conscience recommend Falls Run Nursing Home and Rehabilitation to anyone seeking compassionate or attentive care for their loved ones.

My parents did not file a lawsuit at the time because my grandmother was also a resident, and a hospital advocate told us that they have had many reports of staff retaliating against patients because of family members reporting them! This place needs to be shut down! I feel like I'm getting a good workout on my target areas each time I'm there, and I appreciate the one on one attention. She thinks about what is needed with my care regularly, she updates my exercises for home regularly, and the time I'm with her is spent exercising, which I like. The office is clean, full of good equipment, and I like the bikes to warm up with. I also like how there is a measure of privacy with the way the office is laid out, and that each client seems to be focused on by their particular doctor/practitioner. It's well-organized, bright, and feels productive. The front desk workers are pleasant and helpful also. I highly recommend this practice.
