Total Wine class on a Friday evening. Attended the "Seaside to Speyside" with Jeremy Hill. Walked in and was greeted with a welcome cocktail. My table was lined up with the 6 different samples I would be tasting along with a bottled water a shot glass and a flask (which I got to keep). Jeremy Hill made the class enjoyable and I learned a lot about JURA and Tamnavulin. The class had snacks which were really not much as it was just really cheese slices and crackers. But Jeremy Hill made the class enjoyed. After the class I shopped the store but found NO employees around to help me so I decided to leave. Great place to attend a class. read more

Curbside delivery / picked up in the Galleria location. Today was the quickest ever - just took a few minute and staff were friendly and I was in and out. There were some promos online on wine and I decided to try some of their recommendations. The curbside was packed well. I like Fever Tree tonic and they had a lot of flavors here. I suppose parking may be challenging at peak times, but I was able to easily get a curbside pickup which they moved next to the entrance so it was very convenient. Good value and curbside is so helpful. Have not been inside yet. Highly recommended! read more

I've been to plenty of total wines before this one and I always have such a good experience! However, I just moved down here near the galleria and wanted to try this one out since it is the closest to me. Parking lot is pretty packed, but we ended up getting a good parking spot after a few minutes. When you enter, the store looks very nice and clean! Everything is easy to find and we got everything with ease. There were some employees who asked us if we needed anything as we were looking around which I appreciate. The thing that I'm giving 3 stars for is the service at checkout. I understand ID'ing everyone at checkout, but one of my friends went to the restroom and the other went to return a bottle to the right aisle. We were already almost to the front before they left and right after they left, not even 5 seconds later, the cashier goes "Those 2 people you were with, I'm gonna need to see their ID...". They were literally here 5 seconds ago, she saw them, she could have said "oh by the way, I'm gonna need to see their IDs BEFORE they go do there stuff". She definitely had enough time to tell them to show their IDs beforehand, so being rude and asking for our IDs after the fact was unnecessary. So I had to wait on the side until my friend was done with the restroom and to return a bottle to the right aisle. Will not be returning to this store because of this service exchange. If you want wine, this is the place to come. Vast selections and well organized. They have plenty of signage to help you see how the wines are rated which makes choosing a bit easier. I was offered assistance in the Italian wine section looking for a Brunello. I was given a good bit of information about the vineyards to help me decide. Compared to the other big liquor store in Texas, they have it well done. I can shop without needing assistance to find wines but they have attentive staff nearby. read more

I live about 50 miles from this particular store. I stopped by a closer store looking for two particular bottles of bourbon to give my brother for his retirement. He told me a while back he had been looking for these with no luck. I stopped by a Total Wine store much closer to my home. This stor e did not have these two bottles buy were extremely nice and helpful. This store looked at their computer and said that the Galleria Store had inventory, buy I would need to ask an associate for assistance as they were in the back. I am fairly new to bourbon and am getting to understand that stores keep some in the back, but have spent over $1000 with total wine on different bourbons (1 or two bottles of different types) in the last three months. So I checked the app prior to entering the Galleria store and indeed both bourbons showed limited quantity and to ask an associate. Exactly what I was told 40 minutes earlier at the other Total Wine closer to my house about the Galleria store inventory. Go in and look around, again not an expert as to how all this works. Finally I was directed to a woman in a white shirt named Felecia. She was quite rude and said no other store knows anything about her store ir their inventory. She did not offer any assistance. I am not sure why a customer who has spent over $1000 on bourbon in three months building my stock of different varieties (not buying to resell) is not treated with at least some respect. Long and short is great inventory, buy unless there is a nicer manager it's is hidden in the back. I felt like I was a cockroach that she wanted to scoot away. read more

Total Wine now carries my FAVORITE drink of all time, Big Hat Spirits! It's such a premium product and you can absolutely taste the quality ingredients they use! Anytime they have ambassadors doing demo's in the store they're always so friendly and super knowledgeable of the product. They also offer "compadres" which are individual packs of Lime and Chile Lime with every box! It's such a nice and unique touch and I've never seen any other brand offer something like that. Each can has super premium tequila, or vodka, all natural fruit juices and spices, and Kombucha! It's such a unique, premium quality drink and the compadres make the entire experience stand out. Big Hat is also local to Austin! I'm super happy Total Wine started carrying Big Hat, it's the only thing I drink! read more

I love Total Wine and more particularly, this location. This location is super close to my work and super convenient for when I need to pick something up for an event after work. More recently, I placed a curbside order for the first time with TW for Thanksgiving and I am blown away at how fast that service was. The parking lot was packed, so I was fully expecting to wait longer than possibly normal. I am now signed up as a member on their website and it is so user friendly. I'm looking forward to earning more points so I can possibly get some discounts (or alcohol for free!) hehe. read more

On 8/22/2023, I visited your store with the intention of returning wine for a refund. However, I must express my disappointment with the service I received during my visit. I went into an open register with No One insight, then was told to go to register 1 and wait for a manager who didn't bother to address my concerns in an urgent matter. Not only were they nice and easy to find, they are great for recommendations. I enjoyed incredible customer service from Mary Ann on this visit. I ventured into the store looking for an old faithful and a little something new. Mary Ann was great. She introduced me to Viognier and I loved it! She was very knowledgeable and patient. In addition to showing a variety of bottles to choice from, she also gave me a brief wine lesson in general. I really appreciated the fact that she was so approachable and easy-going. It's nice to be able to venture in to a place and be able to make a well-informed purchase. Aside from this great customer service experience, this store has a huge selection of spirited beverages priced to fit all pockets. Total Wine's curbside pick up has been clutch during the pandemic. They have a massive selection of wine, beer and spirits at great prices that typically beat out most other shops. You simply select what you want and pay for it online, motor over to their parking lot once the order is ready, they quickly come out to load up your trunk or backseat, and then you're all set to go. The staff is always friendly and very knowledgeable about everything. I once was looking for crystal wine glasses to buy for a gift and received an entire history of each brand. I had the time lol but it did help with my decision: I would recommend any of their locations. Tip: Do not forget your ID and get in the rewards program and you will rack up points for cash really fast. At least I do lol read more

Select Club Pecan Praline Whisky and Cream Liqueur was showing instock at Sugarland TX location of Total Wine. I drive 10 miles to the store and not one can find it even thou they show to have 7 bottles in stock. Then one of the workers says we couldn't find it yesterday either. I said then the responsible thing to do is to show no stock and not piss off a customer like me that checked the stock before driving there. Tidonnie is the most rude associate I've ever came across. I came into the store with a friend who was going to make a purchase, even though I wasn't buying Tidonnie refused to sell to my friend without seeing my ID. Even though the person purchasing showed hers, (31 yrs) So you mean to tell me I'm not allowed to purchase alcohol if my child is present? Even though I'm the one with the ID? I digress... Tidonnie told me I had to go to my house to get my ID. A little bit of an annoying hassle, but nonetheless I obliged. We asked her if she could hold the liquor at the register, bc we would be right back. We hopped in my car and drove to my house, where I retrieved my ID. Upon returning to the store, with both our IDs. We get in Tidonnie's lane when another associate offers us to go to their open lane. We declined, bc Tidonnie was holding our liquor at her lane. Then Tidonnie walks away, leaving her register and completely ignoring us and says she refuses to check us out. She gave no valid reason. This was BEYOND insulting. So you had us go back to get my ID just so you wouldn't serve us? I am new to this area, and this is the closest liquor store to me. It's unfortunate that I will now have to drive further to spend my money with another merchant who appreciate and respects their clientele. Someone such as Tidonnie, should NEVER be allowed to hold a customer service position. I have never been met with such contempt for no reason at all. I highly recommend everyone shopping here get the Ibotta app. You can often get serious money back on top shelf liquor. It's also a great idea to join their loyalty club. You can save extra $$$ when you mix 6 or 8 bottles of wine. Shop online to pick out ahead of time what you're going to get. The customer service is amazing. WARNING: TOTAL WINE DOSN'T KNOW THIER BUSINESS & IT MAY COST YOU BIG TIME!! How Total Wine nearly ruined my Astros party this Sunday: Called TW in West U. (Houston) to reserve a keg of Stella and a tap. Picked up the keg and tap on Saturday (because they are closed on Sundays). I know the keg needs to stay very cold, so I put it in a large, round cooler and added ice after I picked it up... and then continued to add more ice all night and kept that going till the party started. An hour before the party party we tried to tap the keg. We tired and tried in vain! TOTAL WINE GAVE ME THE WRONG SIZE TAP!!! Because they were closed we had no hope for getting the keg tapped. Several neighbors attending the party ran home to get me what beer they had. Then we had to leave our 50 guests to make a beer run (ugh!). When I called TW on Monday they we like... "Oh... sorry about that... bring it back and we will give you a refund. NOT GOOD ENOUGH! This is their business... selling kegs and renting taps. Their little mistake cost me time and money and created soooo much frustration and extra work for me. I had to lug the thing home, buy ice and work to keep it cold for more that 24 hours, then had to leave me guests in the middle of my party to get beer. To add insult to injury, when I asked Total Wine to come pick it up, they said "no" I need to lug it back to the store to get my refund. Thanks for all extra work and frustration Total Wine! TW started in Delaware (Phillies Fans no doubt)! Update: They did end up picking up the still full keg. And they gave me a gift card to compensated me for some of the money I spent on ice and my frustration. This place is amazing. I have been shopping at their stores in Phoenix for years. Glad to see they made it out to Houston. The store is extremely nice and clean. The staff is always extremely helpful. They are usually quite knowledgeable, and if they don't know the answer they will look it up or ask a co-worker. Their selection is huge with a good amount of inventory of each SKU and usually at the cheapest prices in town. Cannot say enough good things about this place. Stopped by to pick up Chandon champagne and one of the sales associate gave me a smug talk down how that meant I had no taste and there were far better selections at the same price point. He explicitly said people who drink Chandon do so for the label only, that they don't know any better, are clueless about champagne, and have no real palate or any refined taste. I mean I was stuck between getting the champagne that I and everyone at the dinner party enjoy (we really do like Chandon) or driving around to another store for it. I went ahead and purchased 4 bottles of Chandon for our dinner party but never stepping foot inside that store again. What I loved the best was when I asked about a particular wine that the staff member wasn't familiar with he went and brought back someone who knew the answers. Its always okay to say I am not sure let me find someone who does. Its better than making something up and causing for someone to make a wine purchase on the wrong information. Also biggest thing, I purchased a bottle of Opus and found out that it was the wrong one. I returned it with no hassles and without paying a restocking fee. Others charge the 10% restocking fee. Great location, selection and prices. Was really frustrated with checkout process. Waited 10 minutes in a line (one of several) that was three people deep and stayed that way. Cashiers were obviously struggling (maybe new employees) but there were at least three other employees, perhaps managers, standing together behind their booth talking while this was going on. Was not understanding why they could not open additional checkout lanes or at least explain to those in line what was going on. Granted a one time event, perhaps. I have just recently identified that this place is almost in walking distance to my home and even though it looks small from its main entrance, the offering inside is massive! Large variety of spirits in all sizes, large variety of wine in all price categories, large variety of beer (local, domestic and foreign) and even a large variety of wine glasses from famous German manufacturer "Riedel". If I didn't buy in bulk it would be no big deal but it is. You would think that there would be some sort of loyalty but there is not. A few days ago I gave this place another chance and had another bad experience. At this point I believe this location discriminates and is racist. They didn't let me get product because I was with someone that looked younger. I've seen them make many exceptions for other people. The manager told me they don't need to check regulars I.d.s. I explained to her that I come there all the time and that I'm a bartender. She was very rude and didn't care about trying to help me. I will never support this chain again. I will be bringing to incident to my bartending channel and social media platform. I will be taking all my business to Specs where the options and service is much better. Grand Opening! Upon entering, there was a lady greeting people at the door whom was not very nice to me. When I declined an envelope she was trying to hand me, she made a sarcastic comment out loud and as I was walking away I could hear her talking about me to another employee. Wow. How rude. They need to get her away from the front. The store itself is gorgeous with the biggest selection of wine and beer i've ever seen. The displays were nicely set up and they have many employees walking around to assist, guide and educate you on your selection. I eventually found what I was looking for and made my way to the register. Every employee that passed me warmly greeted me and made me feel more comfortable. The cashier was ready to check me out and did so quickly and effectively. Walking to the front door to leave I was thanked by management which was lovely, but I knew I still had to pass the rude greeter. And to my surprise, she was waiting for me with a scowl on her face and just glared at me. My experience would have been a 5 star experience if it wasn't for the lady greeting people at the front door. She was my first and last impression of the store which is disappointing. read more

Much better than Spec's in almost all aspects. Total Wine and Goody Goody Liquor easily beat up Spec's in terms of pricing, website and overall store appeal. It's great that these two stores are giving some serious competition to Spec's which has been enjoying monopoly in the market. Total Wine & More website is far superior compared to Spec's in terms of user interface and search capabilities. Spec's website is an eyesore. Pricing is much better at Total Wine & More when compared to Spec's. Same thing costs much less at Total Wine & More even when you account for cash price at Spec's. For most general purchases, Spec's seems like a rip-off. Now, I really sympathize with people who religiously go to Spec's for their deli. Here are some sample price comparisons for 750ml bottle - let them speak for themselves. I have been to this location at least 10 times since I moved here and it has been pretty solid... until today when I ended up waiting 30 minutes for a CURBSIDE order inside the store because there was literally no employee to be found... that part is not even what really upset me. Once the guy finally makes his way over to the counter he starts yelling at me for the entire store to hear because "I pressed the 'needs assistance' button too many times". I wish I was making this up. I begin to tell him my situation and why I had been pressing it so many times but he starts to THROW A TEMPTER TANTRUM LIKE A TODDLER and refused to do his job. The only things I said were, "I was pressing it to see if it works!", "I have been waiting about 30 minutes" and then "you need to just do your job bro I don't want to hear it" and this man-child has a full meltdown. After that the manager intervened and asked me what had happened so I told him, then repeatedly asked "please give me my beer" to which the man-child responded "Stop interrupting me!"... It's 5:00pm man I just want to get home to my dogs. Ultimately the manager just tried to de-escalate the situation, which was good, but he should have done something about this dude WAY sooner. Excellent service, best prices, and large selection. If I can help it I won't buy wine or liquor anywhere else. The representatives are always extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They provided all of our wine and beer for our wedding. The wine manager was extremely helpful in keeping us below our budget! We received so many compliments on the wines chosen and everyone was shocked when we told them all the wine at our wedding was under $6/bottle. After the experience specs has got some serious competition. First. The place is spacious so you can move around with ease. Their prices are amazing!! We were throwing a party and saw their prices online and had to check it out. Handle of crown for 40.99. Yeah! After beer and couple other things i felt We really did save a lot.
