This is basically your standard Total Wine, though maybe a bit smaller than other TW locations. You can order ahead through the app or online and go in and pick up without having to browse around. Staff here is not pushy and will leave you be. Lots of free parking lot parking out front. The beer and wine side has a cigar humidor for those interested in cigars. Prices are pretty good on most things and they do have a few store picks on bourbons. Allocated whiskies are definitely, definitely scarce here. Don't expect to find any Buffalo Trace products. The selection at total wine is always huge! I appreciate being able to ask any member of the staff for help and each one can give you great information or point you to the right person who can. Every time I get a recommendation from an employee it ends up being a great choice. I recently took one of their wine tasting classes and will definitely be back for more. They were knowledgeable, interesting and very kind to share all the information and samples of wine. I even had to reschedule the class and they were so accommodating! read more

There are plenty of staff, many of whom are experts, to help find what you need. I like using the app to order ahead so my shopping is done for me and all I have to do is pick it up. The most unfriendly visit to total wine I've ever had. Would rather pay the $2 extra and get my wine elsewhere. The cashier is still checking out the person in front of us when pushing to see my friend and I's ID. Don't understand why I can't give my ID when it's my turn to check out. Acting like I am causing an inconvenience by wanting to put in phone number and saying she needs the manager. Think they need a course on customer service. Extremely unprofessional service. We were followed around the store throughout our shopping. It was rudely emphasized upon checkout that the entire party would need to present IDs. (When one person was buying.) When one of our extremely pregnant friends didn't have her ID we were laughed at and told she would have to present ID before we could leave. (While also being swarmed by the entire staff) When given every ID the cashier scoffed, rolled her eyes, scanned the first one and called the manager over. Total Wine and More is one of the largest wine and spirits stores I've visited. Due to SC law, the liquor side is closed on Sunday, so I didn't get to shop on that side until my second visit. The liquor store side has a separate entrance and exit, too. I wanted to try hard kombucha, and through an online store locator, found it here. I didn't wander long before an employee greeted me and showed me to the hard kombucha in the cold case. He even walked me over and pointed it out- a kind gesture. You can get most any wine or beer imaginable at Total Wine, and if you want it cold, there's a cold beer room AND a wine chiller in the store for wines on the shelf. There's a whole aisle for single craft beers, and you don't have to build your own 6-pack; you can buy 1-2 beers. The store has tastings and a special wine tasting room. Along with several local brewery displays, Total Wine features a section of North Carolina craft beers, which is cool if you've ever been on a brewery drinking tour in Charlotte or Asheville. No need to stock up in NC on the weekends when you can now buy them in Mt. Pleasant. For local brews or liquor, I prefer to buy direct from the brewery or distillery if possible. This is the newer Total Wine location in the area, and the other one is in West Ashley. This one has better parking and is easy to get in and out, so I recommend it if you're in the area. read more

Um...I love shopping here! The store has 2 stores as the wine & beer store is the larger store, while the liquor store is the smaller one. They have a HUGE selection of everything for adult beverages. The store is setup with categories of the various wines and beers. Plus additional sections with mixers, snacks and add on items. The staff is on the floor and visible, who frequently engage with greets and checking on your shopping. They usually staff enough cashiers so there's very little waiting. Be sure to join their club membership so you can receive coupons. Total Wine has a very clean, and modern look. It has a great variety of items which makes me want to return. I love the international section and we have been on a Sake kick, I really appreciate the opportunity to sample so many drinks from around the world on a single roof. The VIP / Customer reward program is't great and it is really hard to get points or get specials, but it is better than nothing! read more

I've been going to Total Wine since moving to Mount Pleasant in 2012. I was really excited when they opened one in Mount Pleasant. The store is neat, well organized, employees are friendly and helpful. I've never had any issues. I would have given this business Five stars but the prices have skyrocketed. One particular wine that I've bought for 9.99 for years is all of a sudden $13.99, another that's been prices around 11,99 is now $14.99. While I understand that the wine industry as a whole has seen price increases, I do think in some cases TW has taken it to extremes. My husband and I will continue shopping there as some of our favorite wines can only be found there and again, the store is nice and the employees will always go the extra mile to help you. read more

They have rare, hard-to-find beers and wines at excellent prices. =============== PREVIOUS REVIEW =============== This is the largest, nicest Total Wine I've been to! They had a rare beer that I have not been able to find at any other store in SC, so this was very exciting. Associates were extremely friendly and helpful, and checked back-stock and called the supplier to see when more of what I wanted would be coming in a shipment. When the app showed me a certain beer was in stock but I was unable to find it, the manager walked to the unloading delivery truck to pull what I wanted directly off the truck. Wendy should be fired. I have never experienced a more abrasive, demeaning, impatient and disrespectful manager like her before. While I was being helped by Chance another employee, she ran up to him and snatch the keys out of his hands that he was using to open the case for me in order to get something for another customer. It was remarkably rude, disrespectful, inappropriate. Then when I came back to make another purchase she was demeaning to me and talked down to me regarding my choice of alcohol. I have never been spoken to like that by a member of your staff ever. The fact that she is a general manager is a serious Mark against the reputation of your business. The way she speaks to customers and staff should not be allowed. Upper management needs to address this immediately. Having her storming around your stores will do nothing but dissuade customers from making purchases with you and ruin their experience in your store. I am livid at the treatment I received from her. The "Spirits" side is now open, where I bought a bottle of Grangestone single malt whisky with a finish in rum casks, and it was $5 off at $24.99. Great deal. Tasted good too, even better than the whisky (UK spelling) finished in sherry casks. Went to the wine side, which is almost overwhelming due to the large amount of white wine, Chardonnay, red wine of all varieties also, and you name it wine. Made a phone on a Wednesday call to see if they had something in stock and the guy that answered the phone said they were getting a case on Thursday so we said save the case for us, took the last name and phone number, not sure why the phone number because they never called so when we went on a Saturday we walked straight to where that product would be displayed and a lady was there so we explained, she looked at the shelf and said "we don't have that product" so again I explained how it was ordered and she insisted that orders are to be made over the internet. I had to insist that she looks in the back room, reluctantly she went back and six minutes later came back with the case in a rolling staircase, apparently she didn't want to lift the case because she pushed the staircase agains my cart and she stood behind, no big deal a case could be a heavy thing to lift for a fifty year old woman but asking would be much nicer. read more

Also I'm thoroughly impressed how they stock Polish beers like Żywiec -- I'm like where else could one find a case like this in the Lowcountry!? The staff is also great with answering questions and figuring out what you would enjoy. I learned about "demi-sec" champagne which would appease my taste for something slightly sweeter vs all dry. As a long time high level total wine customer, so disappointed in my recent visit. Purchased over 2 cases of wine and a large bourbon order and didn't quality for any incentives. While I needed the wine and went through with the purchase, when I got home, I realized Kroeger and several local merchants would have significantly beaten the prices I paid. I have to question whether Total Wine gives you incentives on the front end, then counts on your loyalty to discontinue aggressive pricing. My local wine store would have ordered the wine for me and would have saved me over $80 in my $400 purchase. Even the store was surprised at the pricing model. read more

Assumed my age without looking at my ID and denied the sale when I am well over the legal drinking age. Amazing customer service as soon as you walk in from the time you leave! My favorite part is the wine chiller literally put your bottle in for 5 minutes walk around and it's cold! I only come here for my favorite wine because it's cheaper even beats Walmart prices! It's always so clean and they do wine tasting and even liquor tasting on the spirits side. Can't find anything? Another guy walked by when I was in the aisle looking for some beer and didn't say anything. I went to another aisle and clearly I was trying to pass through. The guy was stocking the shelf and did not even acknowledge me or offer to move out of the way. I walked around the next aisle and walked back on his aisle. Terrible customer service. I went in running errands with my little brother who is underage. They refused to sell to me, stating that everyone present had to be of age and that there was a sign posted on the door that said this as well. I went and looked at both the outer and inner doors to check this, and there was no sign posted saying everyone in the store had to have a valid ID at all. I informed the manager of this and was still refused service. If you are going to implement a "rule", you should at least have this rule known to your potential customers.
