I like Belks a lot. I hadn't been in one in many years and was excited to check it out after relocating from Florida. First visit was frustrating and based on that visit, I was not pleased. I went into the store to buy two comforters that the website said the store had two of. I walked and walked around the store and there were zero employees to ask about the second one as there was just one that I could find. When every single employee came out of the bathroom at the same time I explained my situation and the lady told me to go back to kids clothes and ask her to help me. I said can you call her and let her know I'm coming and she said no.??? So I left the store, ordered them on line for pick up at the store and got them. Ridiculous!! I bought a shirt for my father in law at the Men's store and the salesperson could not have been more helpful. He was asked to speak as a Veteran at a Fourth of July event and the man doesn't own something red, white and blue.Had to fix that! Great experience. I also bought a cute infant outfit for my neighbor who just had a baby girl. Took awhile as two employees were engrossed in conversation even though I was standing right there waiting to check out. Why still a four you may be asking? I like the quality of their products and they have great sales. I've never seen the same employee twice so maybe they are working on customer service. read more

You can easily spend a few hours of shopping here as they have an endless variety of clothing, shoes, and accessories as well as great doorbuster deals. The sales associates were friendly and helpful navigating the store and assisting at checkout when applying for a bells credit card and coupons. There is a parking lot on site available with many entrances to the store. There are restrooms and fitting rooms as well available in the store. The doorbuster deals were incredible as well I was able to purchase a great selection for my summer wardrobe. read more

Hit or miss for sure. Sometimes the store is tidy, organized and has great deals. Other times its a total mess, the dressing rooms are full of discarded clothes and have wait times with their products overpriced. This Belk is amazing!! I've scored some pretty great deals here and found items I didn't know I needed until I saw them! Initially, I get the sticker shock of the prices for some items but when I do the math for the sale percentages, that's when I consider the item. I got my nifty lunchbox during an end of summer sale that was made well plus end of season meant even better pricings! I had to knock out a star for the fitting rooms. The last few times I've gone the line was lengthy in wait time. As far as the fitting rooms itself, they are gross with regard to lack of cleanliness and overwhelming amount of clutter. Mostly it's a customer problem for them to leave clothes behind vs bring it to the return rack but I'm talking STACKS of clothes would be found in the rooms. Truly they could use a makeover. In addition, there was only one fitting room section available despite having several located throughout the store. My guess is due to lack of staff the only option is to have one functioning. This is the best Belk store in the Charleston area and probably South Carolina. It caters to Mt Pleasant's upper middle class clientele, and Towne Center standards are higher than other area malls. Belk is a staple of the southeast and specializes in "Modern Southern Style". They carry popular brands, including Vineyard Vines, Lilly Pulitzer, Steve Madden shoes, Hunter rain boots, Ralph Lauren, Coach, Michael Kors, and Jack Rogers. Crown and Ivy and New Directions are some of Belk's house brands. This store sells women's, children's, and home merchandise. Men's items are in the Belk men's store across the street, which is a great idea. When men go to shop for clothes or shoes, they want to buy it without the distractions of accessories, makeup, jewelry, or home goods. With that said, the store was still packed with merchandise, probably because of the holiday season. Any "supply chain shortages" aren't affecting Belk, that's for sure. The Towne Center location means you're conveniently near other stores and restaurants. Belk has a large parking lot, and finding a spot is easy. I'll keep coming here for clothes, shoes, accessories, or home purchases for myself. read more

This is the nicest Belk store in the Charleston area. They have a Lilly Pulitzer section here along with Michael Kors, Kate Spade, Coach, Burberry, Gucci, and Louis Vuitton. The Burberry, Gucci, and Louis Vuitton is all preloved and a part of the "What Goes Around" section. Belk has a really nice selection of these accessories. Especially around the holidays, Belk has great sales on items. I went today and got a great deal on a pair of Michael Kors shoes. I need to mention that the beauty section here is also better than the other stores in the area. They offer Bobbi Brown and MAC at this location. When I need to find an item at Belk, I try to come to this location just because it has a much better selection. I've had a great experience each time I've shopped here. read more

I love shopping at Belk. Since the Mount Pleasant store was renovated and the men's department got their own store, it's even better. During the past two years, it's been hard to shop but Belk has gone above and beyond to make it easy. I have ordered so many things online - different sizes of the same item. Sometimes I'm able to pick my purchases up the same day at my local Belk store (Mount Pleasant Towne Centre). Anything I don't want or whatever doesn't fit, I just take to my Belk store, give them the credit card I paid with and they take everything back without a hassle and put the $ back onto my card. It doesn't get easier than that. I just wish Belk would've kept the large selection of cosmetics. They got rid of Lancôme, and that's a shame. read more

With so many well established businesses closing or downsizing, I've stepped up my effort to shop and purchase at 'brick and mortar' department stores whenever I can. Unfortunately, the options are slim in this market ... that's why I'm a frequent shopper at Belk. The racks are jammed with merchandise but unfortunately, there is little to my liking. I have little use for dresses, bell sleeves, and long tops aka tunics with fringes or smocking which seem to be the current trend on the sales floor. Perhaps, it's because I'm at the junction of age appropriate and what looks good on my body or maybe, there's nothing about me that fits into their brand ... Southern. Modern. Style. On the positive side, there's always a sale in progress, which is a big attraction, especially when searching through a higher end line such as Eileen Fisher and most recently, Diane Von Furstenberg. Who doesn't love a bargain? And, if you love that Palm Beach vibe, there's enough Lilly Pulitzer merchandise to fill a downtown storefront. Where I have had some luck; however is in the intimate and loungewear departments. Lots of styles, brands and price points to peruse. Sales Associates are visible, helpful and couldn't be more engaging. I like the Belk family commitment to the community and their partnerships with many local charities. For this reason I'll continue my just-about-weekly stop at Belk ... maybe, I'll be lucky. read more

We went in for the first time yesterday afternoon around 4pm. I was so surprised at how nice this store is! Beautiful home decor, clothing etc.. It was clean and orderly. Very nice! I (quickly) found two items I didn't even know I needed and promised myself I'd be back for clothes. Then we tried to check out. I wandered a bit and kept seeing empty "customer service" areas. I finally found one with a woman behind it but it said, "closed". I approached her and had the nerve to ask if the "customer service" booths were where we should check out or if there was a check-out area and the woman rudely replied that I should "look for one of these that doesn't say closed." I told her I saw that the sign said closed but I was new to the store and just didn't know if CS was also check-out and she replied, "Don't get an attitude with me. " WOW. Ok! So we walked on and found more empty booths; finally leaving our merchandise at one of them and walking out. What a shame. If you can find someone to help take your money, it is a store with nice things, but not nice people. read more

Belk is a southern staple. This location is the best in the Charleston area. It carries the widest range of brands and styles for women. Many of the styles are on trend and fashion forward. The brands are distinctly marked so it's easy to navigate to your favorite ones. The store is organized and packed full of clothes. The only other Belk with a MAC counter is in West Ashley, and this is one is much better. The shoe and fashion jewelry sections are larger than other stores and have good selections. You can find great deals from time to time, especially if you have a store credit card. read more

The service at Mt. Pleasant Belk is horrible. I interacted with 3 sales associates and none knew answers to simple questions. In the shoe dept the associate told me to wait when another customer walked up to ask about price matching her Dyson with Walmart. She called two managers over to ask if she could do that while I waited for her to get a pair of sandals which should have been priority over a return that arrived after me. In the Lilly Pulitzer, the associate told a customer with an harm full of Lilly to walk to the other side of the store for a fitting room. That sale was list as she put the clothes down and walked out. Using an employee discount I was told I needed to show the associate card or it wouldn't work. "I know the numbers, it does work. It's legitimate!" For a high end Belk, service is lacking. read more

This store was a mess in every way. Had to wait 25 minutes to get a dressing room, and when I did find a dress I wanted (which was in the Lilly Pulitzer 40% off section) they told me the dress was mistakenly placed there. I walked out and ordered the dress on Lilly Pulitzer website with 15% off. The customer service here was horrendous and nasty. There was merchandise thrown everywhere, looked like a really badly kept outlet store. Will never shop here again. read more

For being one of the only large department stores in Mt Pleasant it really is just not up to par. This place could be so wonderful if staffed appropriately and merchandised better. There is wayyyyy too much stuff in this store which makes it difficult to shop and is always a disaster! There is no need for the amount of inventory.. it is overkill! It's overwhelming and unpleasant, hardly ever any registers or fitting rooms open. Don't go there during the busy times or you'll have to wait for a fitting room and climb over a mountain of clothes to get to one. The poor staff here is overworked and underpaid for the amount of work they have to get done! It's seriously like a hoarders dream.. they need to stay in their lane and quit expanding and adding more products .. why are they trying to carry the same merchandise as bed bath and beyond ? They need to focus on their what customers come there for and stop the maddness.. the store is starting to look like a blend of bed bath and beyond, Ross, and a consignment store ... not a good look for them. I've been shopping at Belk for 20+ years and was an elite cardholder until recently. The decline in customer service, store cleanliness and item quality and selection has gone so far downhill in the last few years. Walking in, everything seems to be ok, but taking a look beyond the first 2 or 3 rows of clothes and there's a mess. Clothes everywhere, unorganized and cluttered. If you're lucky enough to find something in the heaps, good luck locating an employee to get you checked out. And you hit the jackpot if they're friendly enough to make you feel as if you're not bothering them when you ask how much something is because it's marked incorrectly. Hopefully they will get it together one day and bring back the happy, good quality, fun to shop at store. read more

I like the big Belk at Mount Pleasant Town Centre in Mt. Pleasant mainly for the home goods and travel section that is tucked away in the corner. The store is very big and expansive and well maintained and clean. This store is very well run and managed as there always seems to be a lot going on here and it all works. I have always had a positive experience when shopping here. There is plenty of available parking in the big lot on one side of the store or the parking garage on the other side. The staff here is very attentive and provides excellent help and seems to be always available. Overall this is a great store and this Belk and the combined Mens Belk is one of the best shopping destinations in the Charleston area. read more

Not much to say here but, I feel like "the people" need to be updated. Let it be known that this location only carry's women's and housewares etc... The Men's Belk is around the corner and is a stand alone location. Good thing is that there's a significantly larger collection of both men's and women's in their respective locations. Downside is that if your being dragged around Towne Centre by your lady friend looking for the perfect undershirt for that one blouse she has (you know the one... the one with the greenish-blue collar?) then you're stuck with nothing to interest you or taking the walk of shame to a different building all together. I personally would choose walking to the other building because women's clothes shopping makes me want to jump off the Ravenel. read more

Love, love this Belk! They have an outstanding variety of shoes, and clothing! They must have double the shoe selection that the West Ashley store has. The sales people are super friendly, and attentive to the customer's needs. I was able to get the shows I wanted, in my size! I was especially impressed with their bra selection. They had a lot of quality brands, and many were on a great sale! I definitely think making the trip to Mt. Pleasant is worth it! read more

Great location and the store is clean but I was not impressed by the service. The only greeting i received as i browsed through the store was upon leaving by the young lady cleaning the glass windows. I'm not sure how they advertise their clearance items but i picked up an item from the $4.94 and under rack, there were tons more of the same items on that rack so it wasnt misplaced. I took it to the register and it rang up for $9 and I mentioned to the cashier the sign and her excuse was their system for clearance items are new and she doesnt know. Well if someone working there doesnt know then who does? So I asked another cashier and she was not much help either. No one offered to look into it or anything so I just kept my money and left without making any purchase. I'll just wait until I'm back home and shop at the Belk there. read more

I couldn't get anyone to answer the phone, multiple attempts during regular business hours. First they asked for an extension, then for online services, then credit department. It was only like option 7 that they offered departments within the store and after that fiasco, nobody answered. Belk smells good. I mean it really smells nice For a culture with products, look and feel of upscale Southern attire, the prices are very competitive. During end of season sales, you will find 70 and 80% discounts on some great clothes. I have to admit, I am even shocked at some of the prices. Belk isn't just about the clothes. They are about the complete you. From makeup to shaving, Belk believes a well dressed and groomed man or woman is a good man or woman. It is a nice feeling to know they are taking care of the complete you. Belk is known for its Southern style. Therefore, expect to see a lot of pastels and soft colors, lighter fabrics and color. Lots and lots of color. The staff is very diverse and age, gender and background, but they pay careful attention to the customer experience. Don't be in a hurry. Maybe 7 yrs ago this store was under different management and it was disgraceful: nasty dressing rooms, clothes all over the floor, clothes on rolling racks needing to be hung, just ew! Fast forward and you will love the totally new look and cleanliness this store presents. The sales associates are intelligent &'educated people and very courteous. This Belk recently underwent a renovation. I had been in here a few times before everything was redone and it was okay, but not stellar. Now, I will admit, I was blown away. I really enjoyed the selection of cosmetics and skincare - everything is much more organized, and there is a lot more of it! Since they moved the men's section into it's own store, there is a ton of room in this store. They have many nicer brands, such as Lucky, Crown and Ivy, Cynthia Rowley, Michael Kors, and Lilly Pulitzer, and most everything is sorted by brand. They also have large, well lit fitting rooms. This location has a MAC store in it, which is always a plus! The staff are always very helpful, the store is clean, and you can't beat their sales! I always snag tons of cute dresses for work and play for around 75% off. read more

I shop at Belk's and just love the bargins and the discounts the clothes are good quality and last awhile, the fashion is upbeat, and the sizes and color are good. Today I put in my second huge order from Belk.com. I absolutely adore the clothing at this store. The quality of clothing (from my experience) is very high, and they have a lot of unique and interesting designs and patterns to choose from. The clearance items are a dream, and I am so thankful that I found this gem of a store online. I hope they never go out of business - they are currently my absolute favorite place to shop. So I have tried contacting the Belk's in Mount Pleasant, SC twice and they were extremely rude both times. I am attempting to buy a $120 coverlet for my grandmother and I wanted to see if this store had. I was forwarded and the lady said she'd have to put me on hold. When I asked to speak with customer service, she said it was customer service but she wasn't the initial person I spoke. She told me I needed to go to the website if I wanted to see if they had a product. I asked to speak with a manager and she said she was one. I explained it was my 2nd time calling and she said well I'm still going to have to put you on hold. I asked for her name and she said Jenny. She was rude and impatient. I am currently on hold now. It's not my fault that they don't have enough people and if I told her this is my 2nd attempt there should be someone else to help me. Belk's is a large store. I'm extremely frustrated and want the situation escalated. I buy too much for her to be rude. If you don't like your job or you're frustrated with the workload, find another one. read more

Belk has been around over a hundred years and I've been shopping there on and off for about 30 years. This location goes through pretty dramatic changes. On the plus side, a nearby garage has made parking easier and the men's department now has a separate building. Having the men's store separate leaves lots more space in the main store. I think that's good and bad. Good for men, not so great for women's clothing, shoes and cosmetics. More, to me, doesn't mean better. The quality vacillates pretty dramatically. I used to love meandering through the clothing. Now, there are entire sections I just ignore. Actually, I'm now at the point where I'll only seek out certain brand sections. Even then, my patience is tested. I think the quality of footwear has declined. That used to be my happy place. Now, it's rare for me to try anything on. The cosmetic section has grown. Eager associates vying for the brand spotlight. Belk definitely needed more brands of cosmetics. It's a nice sized store and employees are sweet. I've never had issues checking out. I just think the buyers need to tighten up and be more selective. read more

This is my first yelp review but I've never experienced such rude service at a Belk store. First of all I tried to print out a wedding registry and it was out of paper. So I told one of the ladies at the counter. She tells me, "oh some is probably upstairs." (Like in the office part so clearly I can't go up there.) There was another associate there and they didn't even have people at the register. She goes to get some, finds some on her way and hands me like 10 sheets. It still didn't work. I didn't feel like 'bothering' her again so I just take picture of the bar code and the items I might get. When I go to pay for the item, I tell the lady it's a wedding registry but it wouldn't print but I had the bar code. So she goes over there, tries to fix it, get more paper, and it still wouldn't print. I tell her again I had the code. But she still writes it down from the printer. (Maybe that is policy.) Then when I accepted her offer for the gift wrap she GROANS! There is no one behind me and the store is not busy. Being the people pleaser I am, I tell her "oh, don't worry about it... I think I have some wrapping paper at home." But she just pulls out the roll and says 'we have some.' At this point another associate from the home dept and a customer comes up. The associates don't even acknowledge the customer. My person is almost finish wrapping and then she starts helping the other customer. Which I'm fine with but you'd think the other associates (at this point there are 3) would help. That's my vent! Gave 2 stars because maybe they were just having a bad day. read more
