I've always been impressed by this Total Wine. Even though it is a bit smaller than some of their other stores, it has a great selection and great staff. Everyone is always friendly and helpful when I am in the store. They have started selling new items in their store such as Soju, Sake, and THC beverages. I think it's great that Total Wine is branching out and increasing the variety of drinks they sell! I love Soju and Sake, and I really like being able to get rewards points on my favorite drinks. I wish they could do tasting events at this store, but I just don't think they have the space to host an event. read more

I'm not sure what has occurred at this location since COVID. I know that there have been quite a lot of changes to a lot of businesses but I didn't expect that Total Wine would be affected. The selection seems on the outset to be the same but there is a lack of variety that used to be present. Additionally, the staff isn't nearly as friendly as it used to be. I order online usually and pick up. I was very disappointed that a few of my favorites were not available. I was also a little surprised at the lack of cordiality by the staff. It's a wine store sure but they deal with customers. One would think they would make themselves available instead of "lurking" in shadows somewhere. I had to call out a couple of times before someone called for another staff member to help. I will save the gas and just shop in Greensboro to r even better in VA when visiting family. read more

Amazing service, all of the reps that I crossed path with were very friendly and felt like actual genuine interaction- which is rare. I was returning some Kegs from my wedding and it had been a while, but no problem, they were able to help me out, smooth transaction, loved the hustle free interaction. The staff at Total Wine are very professional and knowledgeable as always. They did an excellent job helping out my Dad with picking out wines to take to my brother's house for Thanksgiving. Total Wine always has an excellent selection of wine,beer,and spirits. Their wine classes are excellent and provide a great wealth of knowledge on wine from the experts. The wine tastings on Fridays and Saturdays are excellent because they allow you to try different samples of wine from different countries and regions and introduce you to wines that you may have never heard of before. My husband and I were going to dinner on this particular night and we were asked to bring wine and what better place to choose than total wine. When we first walked in the first thing we noticed was the temperature of the place it was cold but it felt great because it was hot outside. As we walked around we were just admiring all of the wines and I was seeing "Malinda's pick" on some of the wines and out walks Malinda who is the manager. She greeted us and asked if we needed help finding anything and we did. She pointed us to good options and we ended up going for 2 sweet wines, one white and one red. They priced well too. Malinda gave us great recommendations. The staff that was there were all very nice and accommodating each person that we walked pass was very nice. The store was organized and stocked well. I've always had a great experience here. They have great wine and great beers, and such a wide variety. It's almost impossible to come into the store without a person asking if you need assistance, not at all in a hovering way but in a genuinely helpful way. The staff has helped me select some really wonderful bottles and also some interesting new beers! Plus, they used to have complimentary wine tastings (not sure since Covid, but on weekends they used to!). If you are a total wine member you can also get emails for 15% off at times. Will not be returning to this (racist) location ever. My wife and I have visited this specific TW on many occasions over the past year, each time being carded but noticed the people in front nor behind us do not get carded. We've spoken to store personnel, but it still happened with different employees on many different occasions. This last time we checked out after being carded, watched a young lady behind us check out and was not carded at all, this was the last straw. After speaking with the manager Bob we let him know although we know we could look young, we feel it is racially motivated and will not be returning. This location needs serious retraining ASAP. And of course otw out we hear the same employee saying "ID check please" to the manager only after hearing us complain! read more

This is the only location of Total Wine & More I have been to, but I think it's really great! I've actually never gone in for wine, it is the "& More" that particularly interests me, and by that I mean their craft beer selection. They have an AMAZING selection of craft beers to choose from, I literally spent almost an hour in there the other day trying to decide what I wanted to take home in my 6pack. I settled with a Shotgun Betty from Lonerider, and In-Heat Wheat from Flying Dog, Prima Pils from Victory, Uber Pils from Heavy Seas, a Brooklyn Lager and Weeping Willow Wit from Mother Earth brewing. SO many good choices though it was hard to choose just 6. I've been in the store before, and seem to have this problem every time. The boy is the same way, and we usually leave with much more than what we were originally going in for. I will surely be back for more in the near future! I know this is a chain, but I can at least vouch that the Brier Creek location is phenomenal. When I have the time to make the trip I would much support a local business such as Bottle Revolution, but the convenient Brier Creek location is hard to pass up! Love this Total Wine location! I rarely make it out to Brier Creek but when I do I make sure that Total Wine is a stop on my list. They offer a vast selection of beer and wine options. But, the real reason why I love this location the most is because they discount their seasonal beers steeply so they can get rid of it quickly. I always stop by the Cary location hoping for these deals but they wait too long to discount and it is not as steep, boo. Highly recommend! read more

But for me, and my classmates....after 10 hours of lecture, this place was, well, basically, an oasis. It's huge. The people who work here are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. How often do you get that combo? They also have tastings. We wandered around for so long that the manager offered to give us a total store tour when we came back the next day...and if we hadn't have been so mentally exhausted, we would have been back. This glorious place has a plethora of wine, but I've only ventured inside for their awesome BEER selection. I know I'm such a hypocrite, but they should REALLY add the rest of their store name (in big letters of course): "& MORE". I LOVE how the beers are classified -- it always feels like I'm vacationing through foreign lands (mostly states) as I "hunt" for a malty, "sweet-flavored" beer (malt is my favorite). Sadly, they do not carry Kona Brewing Co's "Coco Loco Toasted Coconut Brown Ale" and it absolutely makes me cry inside. Believe me, I hunted for that ale like I lost my own child -- I looked like a bird possessed with OCD as I hunted for my highly-anticipated prey. I've heard how AWESOME it tastes, and I will do just about anything (except consume insects) to get it! This place is really convenient, especially since I've wimped out from venturing out to Peace Street Market for specialty and local beers out of fear of the sketchy creepers in the area (yes, I've had incidents as I've walked to the store after parking my car far away) and the sheer, long proximity from my casa. My boyfriend is a self-proclaimed beer connoisseur (and home-brewer), so this was one of my main, birthday-shopping hotspots. I scouted out a recent favorite stout of mine, New Holland Dragon's Milk Oak Barrel Ale, so I was absolutely delighted. It runs a "high" price since it's high-gravity -- around $15 for the 4-pack. However, it's a perfect match for you "Game of Thrones" lovers to drink as you watch the divine Daenerys. As I closed the end of my shopping expedition, I noticed Rogue's "Voodoo Doughnuts Bacon Maple Ale" at the tale-end of an aisle that faced the registers. Glory Hallelujah! I snatched that bottle up, debated for about 10-seconds if my boyfriend would enjoy this strange, strange beer, and finally made my way over to the register. The employee laughed and asked me if I was daring to try it, and I told him that my boyfriend is obsessed with beer (whose isn't?) and that it was part of a b-day present for him. The associate was very knowledgeable about the beer and discussed the flavors and tones with me as he boxed (yes, boxed) up my goods. I left feeling like I just pwned at picking up some amazing beer for my masculine other-half -- arms heavy with a proud and slightly vain grin on my face. Cuz you know, I shop hard -- like a boss. ***Voodoo Doughnuts Bacon Maple Ale: smells like doughnuts, tastes very smokey with a hint f sweetness -- I couldn't take more than 3 sips. On the otherhand, my boyfriend demolished it and stated that he could drink a whole, 'nother one if it was available. I dropped in here with a buddy from out of town. We both drink IPAs and he wanted some NC brewed beer. The NC selection isn't huge but they have plenty of craft beer here. Wicked Weed Pernicious is my go to IPA and they had some that was cold. I visited this Total Wine once and received the poorest service ever. I was looking for a certain red wine for my fathers birthday. While looking for this red wine for about five minutes, there was an employee standing near me. Not once did he greet me or even ask if I needed assistance. Another man shopping walked up, and the employee greeted him and asked him if he needed any help immediately. I felt mistreated and ended up buying nothing. Terrible customer service. Daniel and Andrew, Saturday night, 10/8/2016 We stopped in to ask about the times for wine tasting. The store was empty sans two employees at the front door. I expected a "Welcome!" What we received instead was two glares. I asked the gentleman dressed like a manager what their wine tasting schedule was and he reluctantly turned to face me while rolling his eyes. I felt this was odd but pressed the man because I did in fact come there for info. He told me the closing time for Saturday, I pressed on because I wanted to know the whole hours... he relinquished the Saturday opening time..... We basically had to ask every day of the week to get the info, only to find out that it's only open Friday and Saturday. I told him I felt like I was pulling teeth when he could have just said, "Wine tasting is open from this time to this time, Friday and Saturday." Easy? So the two men glared at my girlfriend and I and the whole time and made it blatantly aware that we were NOT WELCOME AT TOTAL WINE. The manager, Daniel, TURNED HIS BACK ON ME as I was asking another question. We just left. I returned to ask Andrew if everything was okay, were they arguing? He said that Daniel, the wine and beer supervisor, had a long day and wasn't supposed to be there. Hey I get that, I've had long days. When your chosen career is customer service, you cannot make the customer feel like they inconvenienced you with their patronage. We would have spent money at total wine, we love total wine. Unfortunately, regardless of the wonderful selection of beer and wine they have, that can NOT compensate for the awful customer service they have. I have shopped at this location for months now and have finally had enough. I was there with my husband over the weekend and in the store for over 30 minutes. After being asked to taste wine and finally making our selection we made it to the register. At the register the girl scanned our beer and then told us the total, when my husband took out his credit card to pay she asked both of us for ID. He instantly gave his and said oh mine is in the car but he is paying anyway. She then proceed to yell at me as if I were a child and threw me out of the store. I will NEVER shop at this location again and will make sure my friends in that area don't either! read more

My (now) wife and I went to Total Wine to purchase beer and wine for our wedding. Ryan gave us a private appointment and helped us choose 3 wines (2 whites and a red). We weren't sure of the specific wine we wanted, so he allowed us to taste them to make a final decision. We gave him our budget, and he was able to pick out some great choices for us! We also decided to do 3 beers, so we opted to go light, medium, and full bodied flavors. The beers/wines were a hit at the wedding, and we couldn't have asked for better customer service from both Ryan and the rest of the staff (who helped us load it, etc.). Also, he helped with the actual "count" of the amount of wine/beer we needed to drink and it was pretty much spot on! We always go to Total Wine to pick out craft beers, and this experience gives us even more motivation to continue doing business there.
