Wow! I forgot what a huge selection Total Wine has. I recently visited this Total Wines because I was looking for some THC drinks and a friend suggested to come here. Finding the THC section was a little hard, but in case you are wondering, it is on the front left side of the store. Compared to other liquor stores, their THC sections is insane. They have so many brands I've never seen before and a pretty great selection of different THC options. At the time of check-out the staff was super friendly and they even signed me up into their rewards program, which I thought was a nice touch. Last but not least, parking to this location is super easy and this area doesn't have too much traffic (unless is 5pm). Highly recommend checking them out! read more

The fella in front of me was unable to find a lager version of his beloved pabst, so the cashier really dug in and helped him. Full on stop of the line and radioed three different staff. Awesome customer service. For that one dude. But it was poor customer service for the rest of us in line, who have been to stores before and were courteous enough to arrive at the checkout counter with ALL the merchandise we intended to purchase already. About three minutes into a game I like to call "8,000 bottles of wine - 1 impressively inefficient cashier on duty", I decided it would be best if I try to frequent businesses who are financially solvent enough to staff two or more cashiers during peak hours. So I saved time at checkout by...driving elsewhere and purchasing my goods. I'm hoping, but not overly confident, that by the time you read this review the lager situation is resolved. read more

I'm that shopper who checks online and then visits the store. Total Wine layout is confusing. For example, Aisle #, Left, Bay 3. Huh?!? It seems like a chore coming here. If you got the patience and time, then Total Wine is the place for you. It seems like there's a huge selection of spirits. Good luck finding what you need. read more

All the Total Wines are about the same. Best prices I have found for bourbon and tequila. They also offer classes in the evenings where you go through a guide tasting of about 8 different spirits. Comes with some kind of appetizer. This one is the location where they get allocated product. I got the call to pick up a Blanton Bourbon last year. Sean is my favorite instructor and my go to guy for additive free tequilas. Did you know that it's the additives in tequila that give you a hangover? And even some of the famous lines with expensive options have additives. They have a very extensive bourbon and tequila section. And once you try the Spirits Direct lines you will find many please your palate without breaking the bank. I wish this location did allocation lotteries for Grand reserve members. read more

How can you not love Total Wine - friendly and knowledgeable staff, and there's enough booze samples on weekends to keep you entertained for hours. It's like the Costco of the spirits world. You walk in with the intention of only buying a bottle of wine, but you leave with wine, beer, whiskey and snacks to continue the party at home. read more

This store is popular for all the great samples they offer on Saturdays and wide variety of drink options. All the vendors and staff are always so friendly and knowledgeable. It's possible for you to get a sample of many of their beverages as long as they have a bottle open already. This location also has THC drink options and other non-alcoholic drinks designed to help you relax. I was happy to see that THC drinks are being made available at stores now. I spent some time in the special beer release aisle where they have so many fun offerings. I have some pictures of labels that spoke to me. They have a central permanent sample desk where you can see what will be available in the board per month for samples, see pictures for Nov 2025. Other vendors set up shop where convenient. They have a rewards program that you can join at check out. This store has some minimal convenient store type food options as well. Plenty of parking too so no worries about that. read more

This store is the equivalent to the Wal-Mart of liquor. However, unlike Wal-Mart carrying generic big box main stream brands, you'll find great family owned brands, local brands, and new items here - and they're all alcoholic, hooray! Right as you walk in you'll find yourself in an ocean of wine and champagne. The selection in intimidating and tasting are offered on occasion. The far left side of the store has beer including seasonal releases and local brews. The center of the store has everything from vodka, to tequila, to cognac, to obscure cordials that will happily fill any home bar or establishment. It's really full of everything. Staff is great and speaks as if they've tasted the entire store. That's very helpful given you would probably also like to try the entire store. Parking is very easy thanks to an enormous parking lot. Go during the week to avoid lines. read more

After leaving Chama Gaucha and trying a good high-end tequila, my nephew and I wasn't to this liquor store last Saturday evening to try and find it. I also wanted to get a bottle of my new favorite whiskey... We walked around and looked for these two bottles to no avail. Surprisingly, employees walked past us and never checked in. I found a person who was on a phone (presumably a work phone) for a while and never looked up. I told him I had a question when he had a chance and he was more than happy to have me wait. I asked about the tequila.... He pointed to the shelf area that had the brand and scurried off. Hmmmm.... Never found the bourbon either.... This is not a rare bottle by any means. Went to look for another employee but on the way I saw how long the register lines were and decided to cut my losses. So the $150 I had planned to spend here I spent elsewhere. I am willing to try the other location, but don't see myself coming here again. Saturday night! How are there so few people here and why is no one sampling items? I ended up going to a mom and pop shop with way less options but much better employees and client experience. read more

I live 45mins from this location and made my way to drive down to check out this TW looking for a specific bourbon bottle.. and I walked in and asked one of the employees restocking the bourbon bottles in the bourbon area, a very nice gentleman btw.. I then approached him and politely asked about a specific bottle I was looking for.. and he said they do have a case of what I was looking for in the back but wasn't allowed display them yet, so he recommended I asked someone in a "white long sleeve" which I did.. so I went up the the front of the store and asked about what I was looking for. A very nice lady acknowledged me when I walked up and asked if I needed help.. I then asked her about the bottle I was looking for.. so she then said "let me ask my manager..." Grabs him and points him in my direction and mind you.. the manager wouldn't even look at me , so I then asked about this bottle .. and before I even finished my sentence.. he walks out of the front area and doesn't even look at me and absolutely rudely says "we don't have that in yet.. if it's not on display we don't have it!!" As we just walks right in front of me and walks away saying this .. no eye contact, nothing. I was baffled.. and couldn't even follow up to ask him if he knew when they would be receiving it or that one of his employees just told me they have it in the back.. HIS OWN employee up front "the nice lady" saw my shocked reaction and told me "sorry about that, he's probably just with a customer" on behalf of how rude he was to me! Your own employees witnessed that? That's not leading by example and I am speechless on how someone can be a store manager that takes care of his customers like that?? Come to find out they release those bottles that exact day after I left? Such a bummer and I am not the only person that felt this way, others locally in SA that are in a Facebook bourbon group also experienced this with this same exact manager in charge. Total wine is the total package. They have about everything you are looking for when it comes to spirits. Walk in on any day, and you will find great prices. Fridays and Saturdays you can enjoy tasting in variety of wines or liquors. I had never taken one of their classes, but decided to go to the wine and chocolate pairing this past Wednesday. Wow! It was such a great class. Eloy, kept us entertained while teaching us the basics. We enjoyed chocolate and wine. I learned a lot of great facts. The class was structured well. With 8 wines to taste, everyone was satisfied. They also had chocolate brownies, cheesecake and cake to start with. I must say was all sugared out by the end of the class. I enjoy asking the employees for recommendations and they usually recommend distilleries/bottles i've never heard of but total worth the price and taste. Total wine gets me all the time. Go there for one maybe two bottles of wine. I ended up leaving with four bottles of wine, tequila and margarita mix. The staff was friendly and the lady behind the wine bar was very helpful. I had gone on a Saturday and of course there's sampling sections everywhere. The guy that checked us out, no name tag, was funny. It's always great when you walk out of a place laughing. read more

This is my go to place for all things alcohol based as the price, the time it's open and closed and the options available are limitless and great! The sangria section is extensive with nothing going over $20 bucks. The boxed wine is also expansive and takes a couple of aisles up! Lastly, I would highly recommend checking the craft beer section! This section is awesome and has cans, bottles and some build your own six pack sections. I like that this place has it's smaller bottles of liquor for your picking rather then behind the register. The mixers are right next to the liquor and also the koozie's are in the back right next to the sample area where you can try samples. read more

This place literally has it all. Prices aren't the best, nor the worst, but they're not anything to get upset about. The variety is almost unbelievable on everything here: wine, spirits, beer, etc. The staff is also very knowledgeable, but I will admit they're not always easy to spot. I'm more of a beer drinker and the hundreds of single bottle beers you can buy are really awesome in regards to selecting a "make your own six-pack" to try different beers. read more

A horrible online and phone experience. I have been ordering online due to Covid shut in. I did so last week but was buying a nice anniversary bottle plus other stock. The website says they still deliver to my address, but I could not place an order. I called the store, and after a long wait on hold was directed to their national corporate help group, who told me that they just decided to no longer deliver to my address. I then tried to call two local stores to inquire about curbside pickup. I call over and over, but the phone lines always hung up as soon as I hit the icon to talk to someone. They have a good selection and decent prices, but their customer service was horrible. I have given them a lot of money, but they must no longer want my business. read more

The selection and prices here cannot be beat! They offer a huge selection of wine, beer and liquor, and everything you may need to make a great cocktail. The customer service cannot be beat. I have yet to run into an employee that was not willing to help me find what I was looking for. And they are well informed and knowledgeable about their products. They offer samplings on certain days of the week, and have chalkboard sign that has dates of when certain representatives are going to be there sampling their goods. Join the club! I have been coming here for atleast a year. Everyday after work to grab the bottle of wine that Fred recommends. Atleast that's what I thought I would get, one bottle. Fred always had a way of convincing me to buy more. An incredible revenue generator for the store. But they fired Fred and I still come everyday. Sometimes I buy - other days I leave. Like for instance I'm in the store giving this review been scanning the aisles for 10+ min. Nothing said by any worker. I received an email about a sale so my husband and I decided to stop in since we were in town. There was a table with sanitizer and paper towels at the entrance to wipe down cart handles, and the check out lines followed social distancing protocols with every other lane open. The staff was welcoming and friendly. We don't get to shop at total wine often but when we do we rack up. We left with a whole box full of wine! read more

Oenophiles' dream! Fantastic selection of wines from around the world. Two tasting bars were set up during our visit and there is a classroom in the back for wine education. The store has direct connections with many vineyards, leaving out the distributor's cut. Other wines are still reasonably priced. Very good selection of hard alcohol- especially bourbons. Beer selection is very good, though there are better places for it in town. Aisles are very narrow to pack in all of this booze so peak holiday shopping can be stressful. Generally, the staff is knowledgeable, but there are a few employees who could use some additional training. read more

Let it be duly noted that I have noticed one bad trend, the other good about this city. Bad Trend No.1: Our city is becoming a drinking town. Good Trend No.2: Please refer to the previous one. No doubt the drinking sprawl of the Saucer, Brooklynite, The Growler etc.has succeeded in creating an insatiable thirst for craft beer, spirits and wine. Total Wine & More, in the midst of a brief roadblock is now ready and open to quench that thirst. At first glance it is not ominous but once you get inside. Well, it can be an overwhelming feeling. Wall to wall of beers, wines and spirits. It is all shelved skyward, as far as the human eye can see. When you walk inside you sense the immensity and scale of this place. All your senses will be engaged. Signs tell you what they carry for example, Texan, Californian, Pinot Grigio, Merlot, Chilean. There are posts all over the store where staff host tastings at demo booths. In addition glassware, ice buckets, corks and anything related to drink can be bought here. But on this day I had my eye mainly on the brew selection, which in fact was quite stellar. They have bombers(bottles of beer) and singles of everything under the sun and the moon. Some of it you could get at Spec's or Gabriel's Superstore, but they had singles by Rogue, Clown Shoes, Boulevard; unheard of at other stores. You can mix your own 6 pack but it is quality stuff by any far reach of the imagination. The staff is somewhat friendly but very knowledgeable. They carry blue tooth capability and tracking devices with them at all times. If you have a question about a certain brew, spirit or wine they can answer your question. This resulted in what I observed as patrons mobbing staff with questions and inquires. The prices are not too bad, no more than you would pay for at Spec's or anywhere else. And yet. I do find myself leaving with a few issues and concerns about this store. 1.) While I do admire the warehouse environment, I do miss having items at eye level. In my opinion places like Spec's cultivate urgency, it feels like as soon as you buy something it will be restocked forever. Finite items more readily makes consumers run to your store, as much as a good deal. The COSTCO vibe can grow stale quick if not in check. 2.) They need to open up the aisles a bit more. At places like Gabriel's Superstore the walkway is long and narrow. Here it gets bumper to bumper with traffic. And if you stop to glance at your favorite drink, someone will bump into you.Period. I had an impolite goon do this to me. 3.) All the lanes should be open. While the store is big, the checkout space is not equal to that. Ever venture to the Spec's by in Live Oak? Every possible lane is open to get you in and out quickly and that's how it should be. If you put out that warehouse vibe than the checkout should reflect that also. All and all I do like this place. There are some good deals to be had. The selection here is extraordinary. I especially like the location, it is a good intermediary between all the Spec's and Gabriel's Superstores around town. Loved going to these liquor chains until the employees blatantly lied to my friends and I about one of their products. We feel in love with a product they carried call Mar Azul Tequila (flavored tequila) Last summer and have been looking for it in the stores in San Antonio, TX for it going on four months now. We asked employees at two different stores here in San Antonio about this product and were given two different answers. 1. That company has not been delivering the products we ordered. 2. They were told they no longer sold tequila. We decided to call other liquor stores in San Antonio to see if they carried them and found them at several stores. Alamo City Liquors said they carry all their products and Specs said they carry some of them. I suggest anyone looking for products not to just look at one store. LOL Liquors and Pig Liquors we have found to also be great. This review was basically to call out this company for lying about products customers are seeking to purchase. We were told the tequila we were looking for has been delivering their products and has had no problems they knew of. read more

Not only they didn't have it, it's not even in their inventory. The Mai Tai Mix, the Margarita was just my bad luck they happen to be out of on top of the Mai Tai Mix being unavailable. So ecstatic that Total Wine has come to San Antonio! Their prices are unbeatable (I've compared to HEB, Spec's, and Walmart), their selection is HUGE, and there is always something new to try. The clean and organized warehouse includes beer, liquor, cigars, wine, & great gift ideas. The layout of the store may seem overwhelming at first, but once you explore a bit, it's actually quite organized! Additionally, the employees at TW are required to take classes and try products so that they are more knowledgable and can better assist the customer. I love talking to the employees; I always learn something new! Beer: in addition to the domestic, imports, & local TX beer selection, they also have a section of single bottles for purchase. This is especially fun when seasonal beers come out and you can try one of everything! Liquor: best prices of anywhere. We actually scored a Pappy one year at a FL location! Wine: their selection of Old World wines is truly incredible. Also, the labels on the shelves provide a description of the notes you'll discover in the wine - very helpful for purchasing something different! Perks: Free tastings on Fridays 1-7pm and Saturdays 12-6pm. Classes are also offered and they are so much fun! From Belgium Beers to Tuscan Wine to Scotch, you get to learn the history & science behind the making of the products, while getting to taste a selection of them. They also provide a light dinner with a variety of snacks for the tastings. This event is better suited for a date night or two friends rather than a large group. read more

I went to the store two weeks ago to buy a case of Bud Light. All cases of this beer were expired. I talked to the lady at the service desk and she wasn't too concerned, but said she would handle it. Needless to say, I wasn't happy and I left without beer. I went back yesterday and found they had not restocked their inventory and the same expired beer was on the shelf. I contacted the manager on duty and she said they should of handled it when I first complained. This is a very large store with many employees. It is wrong to continue to sell out of date merchandise to the public. I won't be back. read more
