In all the Total Wine & More locations that I have visited, I have never seen one stock their bottles sideways on the shelves. This appears to be to conserve space, however there is no rhyme or reason. Some aisles its the unlocked high end items and in other aisles its the cheaper items. With such a large selection, this method can be very discouraging for a newer shopper and the potential extra handling of the bottles just to see what you are looking at presents increased risk of lost product by breakage. I watched a handful of customer leave because they couldn't find something, didn't seem to want to ask the staff (which seemed very helpful) and literally walked right passed what they were looking for but the bottles were turned sideways. read more

Oookaay, this was my first visit here. I was a kid in a candy store not having enough time to look at everything they offered. We specifically went in to pick up a jug of fireball for my friend. From my understanding $19.99 was more than fair, this is their everyday price. We checked to see if they carried Duvel. Yes they do they do and from what I remember the price was not competitive. Carlos help us out and was very helpful. I did have other questions about sours and smoothies and the other staff (I don't recall their names) were all eager to help. I wasn't able to wander around due to time so we will be back I'm interested in tasting. They do have this really cool water chilling beverage thing at the front of the store so as you leave you can put your beverage inside of this water and within minutes you'll have a chilled beverage!!! It works! I give 5 across because they had a really nice staff, the location is in a shopping center. Due to the holidays that's why there's a little more action going on but it's a good location. In the summertime or spring you could grab some cheese some wine and right behind this building is the beach. You can go sit on the beach and enjoy a sunset or whatever but it's got a nice location. I was a Grand Reserve member for multiple years (requires spending at least 2,500 dollars a year) and shopped at this location from the opening day until about six months ago. The combination of repeatedly not receiving anything in their "Rare Bottle Lottery" except for overpriced Blanton's, poor customer service experiences and an overall increase in their prices has led to this poor review. Overall, this store could be better and perhaps over time they will do more and earn my business again. Recently visited this location for the first time and I can't wait to return! They have a great selection of wines, beer, and spirits that were organized very well. For example, I love how the Bordeaux section was organized by left bank and right bank. Little things like that make this store great! Staff were very friendly and very eager to help. I made an online purchase and picked up in store. The employee came fairly soon after I rang the little bell. He wasn't the friendliest but he was civil. Everything was put in the bag for me and I went home. Once I got to the house I noticed the bag was wet. One of the bottles had been opened and leaked all over my car. The selection is above anything I've imagined. Most of the employees (we're all human) were courteous and accommodating. One thing that hugely turned me off was how Jan was treating other employees. I understand quite well that having an advanced position with a company comes with more responsibilities, but that isn't a free pass to treat others like peons. It was highly disgusting. This phenomenon amongst middle management is confusing because your actions directly affect your workforce. When you treat them poorly, they show up late, call out, or quit. I've called several times and left the company representatives with all of my contact information and I've yet to hear from anyone. Grace the store manager. Is extremely rude, along with her staff. This is a blessing that they opened a store in Sand City. Inventory is legit and the staff has been helpful. All these employees from what they have said are new to the company but they are knowledgeable and I loved that instead of pointing and telling me where it was at they walked over and showed me which I loved. I feel like some of the reviews that have been harsh as this store has not even been open for less than a month. Will continue to visit as there inventory is probably the best in the area! My prayers have been answered! A Total Wine close to me. No more trips to San Jose for the good stuff! As most TW's do, this one shares a parking lot with Costco. You can't beat the selection and prices here. The store had their grand opening and will need to work out a few kinks, but all in all it was a pleasant shopping experience. It was a bit surprising no one greeted me or asked if I needed help as I wandered around, seemed like plenty of staff there. They were happy to help when I asked for them to look up stock on something. Now if they can only stock 8 year El Dorado rum rather than or in addition to the 5 year, I'll be a happy camper. I'll definitely be back to shop here again. The management in this particular store has much to learn about customer service. They have created rules for this location in particular that do not exist company-wide. While visiting this location and showing the business offerings to others in my family who have never been to any Total Wine locations, we were rudely handled at the checkout. They attempted to card an individual in our group that was not purchasing anything, let alone alcoholic beverages. We made it clear that person was with us and all purchasing was being handled by those of legal age (21). The manager kept saying that the company has mandated the review of everyone that enters the store and that no one under the age of 21 is permitted. They were hesitant to allow a legal age person to purchase to make a purchase because someone in our group was under age. Mind you, we are well into our middle age and I clarified the under age person was with me, and I was permitted to make my purchase. If you don't want under age folks coming in with their parents/guardians, then I suggest you card individuals upon entry. Note: This is NOT a company wide rule as I verified. Minors may not make alcoholic purchases (obviously), but accompanied minors are permitted in stores. You really caused an unnecessary and embarrassing scene. DO BETTER! read more
