Their pricing is low and they've been especially kind to me, even refusing to accept tips I try to tack on whenever they clip my dogs' nails. They're reliably quick, accommodating, and thorough. Please ignore the petty review from the person who inappropriately 1-starred this place just because they don't work on Pitbulls. I've met some very sweet, docile Pitbulls, but the statistically objective fact remains that Pitbulls are - on average - disproportionately unpredictable and dangerous dogs. They comprise roughly 6 percent of the dog population, but account for nearly 70 percent of all fatal dog attacks on humans. For such reasons, many U.S. cities have outlawed the breed entirely. Chere's Grooming apparently believes that they can create an exponentially safer work environment for themselves by excluding the Pitbull clientele. Frankly, they're probably right. This does NOT mean that they are condemning your specific Pitbull, who might be the friendliest creature on the street. And no doubt, some groomer will still get stitched-up because somebody's teacup Yorkie went ballistic during bath time. This is simply a matter of probabilities, the Pitbull breed's undeniable capacity for inflicting catastrophic harm should it decide to, and the groomer's prerogative to feel comfortable.

No one explained to me what that meant; no one told me that my kitten had a serious, contagious illness that would affect him for the rest of his life. I am not a veterinarian. I am just someone who wants to love a cat. If someone had taken a moment to explain what "FeLV+" meant, to clarify that it was feline leukemia, that it could shorten his life, and that it could endanger my other cat, I would have been able to make a fully informed decision about how to protect him and my home. Instead, I found out what it meant only after falling in love with him. After I had already brought him home. After I watched him get sick, I was terrified, not knowing what was happening or how to help him at first. I don't regret adopting him -- not for a second. He is part of my family now, and he is deeply loved. However, the way his condition was communicated caused an enormous amount of unnecessary heartbreak and fear that could have been avoided with a simple, honest conversation. Please prioritize speaking clearly about health conditions like FeLV for the sake of future cats and adopters. A simple explanation could spare someone else from confusion, guilt, or loss and give cats like mine the extra protection and understanding they deserve from the start. This is the first review I've ever left, and I feel wrong going lower because Ducky is still alive, and my older cat is vaccinated. So when we discovered Breeders Choice I was thrilled when he could get us in the same day. Louie looked impressive and very clean with a nail trim to boot for leas than fifty bucks. We are extremely pleased in all aspects of the experience at this salon. There is no doubt what so ever that I will return and remain a loyal customer. However, my first experience with the veterinarian left me questioning the practice. Winston was scheduled for his annual examination and vaccines, as well as boarding for the weekend. They administered all of his vaccines except the canine influenza and was to complete it before I picked him up on Monday. That was not done and I had to take him back to the clinic for the vaccine. During his annual exam, the veterinarian (Sarah) and I discussed Winston's use of Simparica Trio for heart worm, flea, and tick prevention. She told me to order it through Chewy and the prescription would be placed in his file. It was not. In fact, the clinic denied his refill citing that he required a heartworm test at an additional fee. I'm not sure why the veterinarian would 1) tell me his influenza vaccine would be given later and then it wasn't, 2) tell me to continue his Simparica and order it through Chewy when she knew Preston Animal Clinic would deny the prescription if he hadn't had a recent heartworm test, and 3) why not do the heartworm test during his annual exam? Having recently moved to Louisville from across the country, finding a new veterinarian isn't easy. This was not a good first impression of the clinic and I feel like inter-office communication is lacking.
