Went to pick up my Maltese and was told he had a little nick. Had to take him to the vet and get four staples under his arm for a deep laceration in addition to pain medication and antibiotics. When I called and spoke to the owner he said, "accidents happen" and sounded unconcerned. They did reimburse me for the vet bill and returned my check to me for the grooming, but no one even called me to see if my dog was OK. Never again read more

I was reluctant to take my terrier there for his nails as a walk-in as I had had 2 Goldens contract Bordetella there in the past. I had just read good reviews about the nail trimming so I took Dexter in this am, they were very nice & fast, but when I brought him home 2 rear nails were bleeding as they were cut too short. In too much of a hurry & no attention to detail. I shall NEVER cross that threshold again!!! read more

I can't even leave a number low enough. I took my precious pup to this place. He is an AussieDoodle who's dad liked to take him hiking in the woods and allow him to swim in the ponds. He became very matted with things that came of bushes entangled in his hair. I knee he would have to be shaved so when I picked him up I wasn't surprised. I noticed blood on the furniture at home and so I started trying to find where he was bleeding. He would not let me near his ears. His dad held him and I noticed that the tips of both of his ears had been cut off. He must have cried and they must have seen the blood but they didn't say a word to me. It took weeks for his ears to heal. I didn't go back or even call because I was so traumatized I didn't want to end up in a police car. Just writing this is making me upset so I will end with....I would never go back! read more

Now Groom Room.. never take your Dogs there. We've requested they squeeze our dogs Anal Glands, we're changed but come to find out Vet. Tells us they haven't been done, they're clogged. They shaved our other Dog instead of trimming her. Our 3rd came back with 2 large swollen bumps on the top of her head. Our Vet. Said it look like she was either hit on the head with something or ran into something. We do tell them she's just there for a bath and nail trim, call us when she's done, she has major anxiety. Normally they would have her back to us within 2 hours, this time they called us at 3:00. After we dropped her off at 8am. Every time we go in NEW people are there. read more

Connie's Groom room is located off Taylorsville Road near Bowman's filed in Louisville. They do a decent job grooming my pets and they only need 3-4 days lead time for an appointment. There is only a few parking spaces, however, and my drive from Middletown necessitates a jaunt down 64E and 264 E (only 15 minutes w/o wrecks or construction; these days it's a crapshoot). They do not accept credit cards so take cash or a check. read more

We have taken our malshi (maltese/shih tzu) and shorki (shih tzu/yorki) to be bathed and groomed several times and have always been pleased with the results. Our dogs have never experienced any nicks or cuts, have always had their nails trimmed and appear happy when we pick them up. Whenever we call we can typically get an appointment within 3 days. We are typically instructed to bring the dogs in between 7 and 9: 30 AM and they call us late afternoon to pick them up. I withhold a 5th star because parking is a difficult (only 5 spots that are shared with a nearby animal hospital) and only cash or checks are accepted. read more

I visited Connie's Groom Room for the second time this week, and I am so happy that the business is now open after the COVID restrictions are beginning to lift. As pictured, customers cannot walk in yet, but staff will come to your car and retrieve your pet and then bring your pet back outside when they are done (while wearing a mask and gloves). I think that is so conscientious and helpful. My pug, Bruno, was so soft and clean and smelled fantastic. His nails were beginning to curl under (poor guy) but the staff clipped them and then filed them so they are short and blunt. Bruno is much more comfortable and so am I! Thanks so much for the convenience and care you take with my pup, I'll definitely be back when needed! read more

Three weeks ago I took my two huskies to get groomed here. We agreed on a price and I left for work. Later on they sent me a text stating the would need more money because they were difficult. I understood, and when I picked them up they looked great and even tipped them 40 extra. But later on I have noticed they never trimmed their nails!!! My older dogs nails are so long one is starting to go to the side and he cries out in pain. I have had to schedule appointment with my vet so they can cut them and possibly do X-rays on his paws. I read some of the other reviews and it turns out MANY people have complained that they haven't trimmed their dogs nails. Awful awful awful place. read more

I had to sleep on this review so I could be more objective since it was my boys 1st visit to the Groom Room. Even after 24 hours, I have to say....not impressed. If you have to wonder if he actually got a bath....or if they combed or brushed his head at all....those are not star earning concerns. Only his 2nd grooming (1st by Aussie Mobile), I asked how he did when I picked him up. None of the 3 ladies I encountered could tell me because "someone else" did him. I observed ALOT of dog fur on the floor....so what does it look like in the back? He is a Sheltie, and does shed, but a good brushing may have helped keep loose hair from coating in inside of my car. In my opinion, he looked better BEFORE I picked him up. It is a shame, because I doubt I will return since they were reasonably priced. read more

I have taken my Yorkie here a couple of times and this will be the last. When I dropped her off I told them to only trim her paws, nails, and a sanitary trim. When I picked her up, they groomed her face and her ears! Now the poor girl looks like she has a small head compared to her body! The last time I had her groomed here I asked for an ear trimming, so clearly the were looking at the wrong date. Also, she still had mucus around her eyes and appeared not to have been bathed even though I asked for that. And finally, the cost to have her nails, paws, and butt trimmed cost me the same price as a full groom. When I asked about it they just shrugged it off. I will not be going back. read more

They groom her as requested. She had surgery once on her leg and they made accommodations for her. They have taken excellent care of her. She loves Susan. Susan is like family to us. i took my newly rescued mixed breed little fluffy dog to be "cleaned up", not cut as short as a dog being groomed at the time, trim up his little wiskery face. what i picked up an entirely shaved dog . Shaved! not trimmed up but shaved. i didn't even recognize him! his groomer said he was scared of everything which has not been my experience with him at all. she didnt get his nails which are too long. i had to go buy him sweaters because its cold and he has virtually no fur. read more

Connie's Groom Room did a wonderful job on my Havanese, who had only been trimmed at home because of Covid. He had some mats I could not get out. They were very patient, gave me some tips to keep the mats away, and didn't make me feel bad for letting his hair get tacky. Very good experience. read more

I have a large St Bernard mix, who is also very excitable. I have taken her to several places, trying to find somewhere closer to my house. This is the only place that cuts my dogs hair without terrible nicks. She always comes home happy, and looks adorable. You can tell she loves the workers when I drop her off, and they never have problems handling her because they are professionals and can handle large breeds. Worth the extra drive. read more

I love Stephanie at Connie's Groom Room. She takes wonderful care of our two shih tzus and I've never had a problem. I was a new customer and called to make an appointment. This was clearly stated during the call. When I went to pick up my pet I was told cash or check only. Since I had neither I had to go next door to the ATM which cost me $3. The staff was completely indifferent to my anger about this. I will certainly never use them again. Talking about poor customer service! It was pointed out that there is a sign posted. The sign was small and hidden on the counter. Well, I did LOVE this place. However last week I took my dog and he came back with nicks and cuts, his rear shaved too close and nicks back there, covered in fleas and the toe nails WERE NOT TOUCHED. I paid for them to do their job, and they did not. Plus costs me more because a dog who did not have fleas, he is an indoor dog, came home with them, and I had to quickly bathe him, run to store get flea shampoo. I was very upset. I don't know if I can ever take him back, even if I do get him on frontline; any dog grooming place that sends a dog out with fleas shows lack of cleanliness and lack of sanitation. Wonder if I should report them to BBB and others.... thinking on it seriously. read more
