This is after with the tips of his ears cut off.

I can't even leave a number low enough. I took my precious pup to this place. He is an AussieDoodle who's dad liked to take him hiking in the woods and allow him to swim in the ponds. He became very matted with things that came of bushes entangled in his hair. I knee he would have to be shaved so when I picked him up I wasn't surprised. I noticed blood on the furniture at home and so I started trying to find where he was bleeding. He would not let me near his ears. His dad held him and I noticed that the tips of both of his ears had been cut off. He must have cried and they must have seen the blood but they didn't say a word to me. It took weeks for his ears to heal. I didn't go back or even call because I was so traumatized I didn't want to end up in a police car. Just writing this is making me upset so I will end with....I would never go back!

Connie's Groom room is located off Taylorsville Road near Bowman's filed in Louisville. They do a decent job grooming my pets and they only need 3-4 days lead time for an appointment. There is only a few parking spaces, however, and my drive from Middletown necessitates a jaunt down 64E and 264 E (only 15 minutes w/o wrecks or construction; these days it's a crapshoot). They do not accept credit cards so take cash or a check.

We have taken our malshi (maltese/shih tzu) and shorki (shih tzu/yorki) to be bathed and groomed several times and have always been pleased with the results. Our dogs have never experienced any nicks or cuts, have always had their nails trimmed and appear happy when we pick them up. Whenever we call we can typically get an appointment within 3 days. We are typically instructed to bring the dogs in between 7 and 9: 30 AM and they call us late afternoon to pick them up. I withhold a 5th star because parking is a difficult (only 5 spots that are shared with a nearby animal hospital) and only cash or checks are accepted.

Last time I swear the doodle came home with only dry shampoo. I don't think they bathed her. No bows. She was visibly disappointed and so were we.

I visited Connie's Groom Room for the second time this week, and I am so happy that the business is now open after the COVID restrictions are beginning to lift. As pictured, customers cannot walk in yet, but staff will come to your car and retrieve your pet and then bring your pet back outside when they are done (while wearing a mask and gloves). I think that is so conscientious and helpful. My pug, Bruno, was so soft and clean and smelled fantastic. His nails were beginning to curl under (poor guy) but the staff clipped them and then filed them so they are short and blunt. Bruno is much more comfortable and so am I! Thanks so much for the convenience and care you take with my pup, I'll definitely be back when needed!

I took my two pups, a 5 month old Shorkie and a 2 year old Dorkie here. They both came back really happy and really clean. Not to mention they both looked and smelled amazing. I'll definitely be taking my two boys here in the future.

The people are very rude. The place smells horribly and they don't know the first thing about grooming other than buzz it all off.

Connie's Groom Room did a wonderful job on my Havanese, who had only been trimmed at home because of Covid.

Poms have two coats and the undercoat is very thick, but comes out with a dryer after a shampoo. Any experienced groomer knows this. Matt (the owner) and his wife Lori, shaved him to the skin. I get him groomed every two months by his normal, AWESOME groomer. Jackson is staying with family in Louisville while I recover from knee surgery...which is why he was taken to this place. Matt was so rude and told me it was not his fault but mine because the undercoat was too thick and that "was the only way to get his hair off". And that I paid for a haircut and that is what I got. He also said they were so busy he didn't have time to call before they shaved him. In other words, they were too busy and he didn't want to take the time to blowout his undercoat like an experienced groomer would. Poms take extra time to groom, which again an experienced groomer would know. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE!!! UPDATE: apparently Matt, the owner, filed a "false claim" on my review. Maybe if he knew how to groom a Pom, he wouldn't get terrible reviews.

Also, general FYI, the place is cash only.

Their pricing is low and they've been especially kind to me, even refusing to accept tips I try to tack on whenever they clip my dogs' nails. They're reliably quick, accommodating, and thorough. Please ignore the petty review from the person who inappropriately 1-starred this place just because they don't work on Pitbulls. I've met some very sweet, docile Pitbulls, but the statistically objective fact remains that Pitbulls are - on average - disproportionately unpredictable and dangerous dogs. They comprise roughly 6 percent of the dog population, but account for nearly 70 percent of all fatal dog attacks on humans. For such reasons, many U.S. cities have outlawed the breed entirely. Chere's Grooming apparently believes that they can create an exponentially safer work environment for themselves by excluding the Pitbull clientele. Frankly, they're probably right. This does NOT mean that they are condemning your specific Pitbull, who might be the friendliest creature on the street. And no doubt, some groomer will still get stitched-up because somebody's teacup Yorkie went ballistic during bath time. This is simply a matter of probabilities, the Pitbull breed's undeniable capacity for inflicting catastrophic harm should it decide to, and the groomer's prerogative to feel comfortable.
