What an absolutely astonishing first experience with my child's pediatrics! Amanda Chin has been…read morethe most caring, helpful, attentive nurse practitioner for our newborn son and has answers to all the little questions that come up. She treats my son like her own and he enjoys his well-child visits to see her (he never cries with her!). Even more encouraging, Amanda is quick to give positive feedback to you in what you're doing as a parent, making it feel like all the difficult new learning experiences are paying off. There's nobody I'd rather have to work with my precious son as he grows up!

It's the only appointment available for the next couple weeks and we breathe a sigh of relief as we walk in 11 minutes late find a quiet office and empty reception room. As my wife apologies to the receptionist, who we'll call Barb, she's met with a blank stare devoid of contact and an abrupt efficiency that I imagine would meet a customer service standard in a Soviet Russian auto shop. Barb replies that our pediatrician "may," not be able to see us. She calls to the back and states, "Your 1:00 o'clock is here, do you still want me to reschedule them." At this point I'm feeling like a pre-determined conversation occurred somewhere during our 45 minute drive which was never phoned in to us. "You'll have to come back," Barb remarks with a sense of muted triumph. Her face telegraphs her victorious battle against the awful family that has been coming to the office for 9 months for 11 separate visits without being less than 10 minutes early on all other occasions. My wife, who works in the medical field calmly reschedules as my disbelief rises. On our way out, she stops and I'm not quite sure if she's just had a out of body experience or if her quiet rage has induced paralysis. She turns to Barb, "Excuse me, may I just ask what your late policy is?" Without getting off of her call or making eye contact, Barb efficiently points to the big-bold, tacky sign taped to the top of the reception calendar reading "ALL PATIENTS 10 MINUTES LATE OR MORE WILL BE RESCHEDULED." 60 seconds - Are you kidding me! We're the only patients in the office.... So I'll spare you our conversation on the ride home. Perhaps tucked away in the back of the house were the most silent staff/kids in the world. Perhaps, someone just wanted a little extra time polishing off that cheeseburger from lunch. This story does end on a happy note. By 2:00pm we had toured another office 25 minutes closer to home, gotten a welcome gift bag, chatted with a genuinely funny front desk staff, and scheduled a follow-up 1 week sooner than CHPG. The new place also has an awesome fish tank and the cartoons aren't blaring. Bottom line: If you're looking for a semblance of customer service or for an experience that doesn't leave you with a feeling of cool indifference, seek elsewhere. We do fully endorse Dr. Schiffer, who is great, and was on maternity leave during this episode. We hate having to leave that relationship. The office is clean, quiet, and generally efficient in getting you in and doing a quality job. Generally though, you can probably do better....

No WALK-INs are allowed even though there wasn't anyone there. Their customer was the WORST I had ever had AT a PEDIATRICIANS. Establishment claimed their policy is NOT to accept Walk-ins. The care they have given my grandson has been OUTSTANDING. I even had to call them once while babysitting and they were super helpful, getting him taken care of that day and seen the next. So, reading some of these reviews, I honestly do not understand some of them. There are wait times, at every doctor's office, due to the massive influx of people who e moved here. It's amazing how people complain about being put on hold for a few minutes. Their phones are likely ringing off the hook. The past three years have had horrible respiratory seasons as well. I'm not sure if these reviews are left by people who are uneducated about how busy a doctor's office is or they're just impatient and rude in every aspect of their lives? Also, if a doctor's office calls CPS? It's because they have to. They're mandatory reporters. And trust me, they don't call CPS unless there are real concerns for abuse and/or neglect and abuse NKY call when it is absolutely necessary. Hopefully the county finds your child is safe and not neglected or abused. If not? Then learn to actually take care of your children.
