I have finally made the decision to stop going to this place. Many more competitors to choose from. My reasons are, the cashier is consistently unpleasant, refuses to smile or be nice. The main reason is that although I like the burgers and fried fish sandwich, the French fries are the absolutely the worst I have ever had. I usually have to throw at least half away because that's all I can stand to eat. I would prefer a cheaper option where you can just get a sandwich. I almost always order takeout and the atmosphere in there is run down and dingy. It's just unpleasant when you walk into the small from area and everyone is crammed in there. read more

This is a hidden gem in Cowpens, SC. We haven't eaten here in years but it NEVER disappoints! Our favorite menu item is the Pepperoni Pizza. My husband says it's addictive. I put one piece on my plate and somehow finished with eating three pieces! IT IS ADDICTIVE!!! The staff is friendly. The restaurant seems clean. Prices are reasonable and comparable with other restaurants of this kind. My ONLY complaint is that we ordered our pizza with EXTRA pepperoni and it did not have the extra amount of pepperoni on it. I wanted to like the Town Grill, but they make it difficult. The food is actually not bad but the staff looks miserable and are rude. A lot of people are standing around - owners family maybe? And now they've received a "B" rating by DHEC (Department of Health and Environmental Control). It's not that hard to get a "A". Went there today for dinner. I love their pizza my husband doesnt. My husband ordered the Gyro Platter $14.99. It comes with a salad (lettuce) and fries. The Fries looked and tasted like they were left over from luck, and the Gyro's meat was all dried up and the pita bread was cut into odd little shapes and were really greasy. So, I went to pay and told the waitress that my pizza was great as always and my husband's meal was horrible and he couldn't eat it, she just looked at me didn't really say nothing. We were the only ones in the place so the waitresses decide to sit down and eat rather than ask us if we needed anything, so I went and paid. I was hoping my husband would have liked the food so I didnt have to go get pizza for just take out but that didnt happen and they didnt offer to make it right either. I have really enjoyed the food here. There is a large selection of food to choose from, but the gyros are pretty good. The service is efficient and friendly enough. The parking lot is usually full but there's plenty of seating available inside. The seating arrangements are a bit tight, but the food is worth it. I only mention this because I have anxiety that I can manage, but if you suffer claustrophobia, you may want to order to-go. A hidden gem in this historic town of Cowpens. read more

Just plain pizza. Road tripping and wanted pizza. Found this spot on Yelp and gave it a try. Sweet tea is sugary good. House pizza isn't former but is perfectly plain. It has sausage, peppers, onions & pepperoni. Crust is crispy and entire pizza was evenly balanced with sauce, toppings & cheese. One girly had cheese pizza - great stringy cheese is the comment. This place is a local place for people that live in the area. The food is very good and the food is the same all the time. Always good. What do you say about this place other than the fact it's been here for probably over 20 years and its the only place in the area that you can remotely get decent food. The Red Rooster is open sometimes, not at all during COVID, that red barn that sells food sometimes is TERRIBLE, and the fish camp is only open 3 nights a week. And forget Hardees, you might as well get a got dog from the gas station. So, the Town Grille is reliable and open when I need it. The Greek food and pasta is also really good. I love the pizza. The staff is very friendly and I love that it is a family owned business. They are awesome. I also love that it is still around after all these years. I could eat their ranch dressing on everything in the world. It is AMAZING. I am not as big of fan of their American items like the flounder, but to each their own. Stopped in for luck one day and had the lunch special which was my choice of any half sub with fries and a drink which I chose the chicken Philly and boy was it a great choice. This is in a older building but for a small town and a old building it will surprise you how great the food is and the service. The food quality has gone downhill again. Went tonight for a hamburger steak dinner. My order was way over done, bland and the dressing tasted like water was in it. My wife home sick. Ordered her a takeout. Hamburger steak, well, with well onions, mushrooms and gravy on the side. It comes with a salad and I chose house Italian dressing. All to go. The hamburger steak was nearly burned on one side and very crispy. The onions and mushrooms were cooked correctly, the French fries were fine BUT, all was not seasoned at all. Food was bland, no taste. She could not eat the hamburger steak, it was bland and tough, crispy. Well done does not mean burned, over cooked nor crispy. The gravy did not have any seasoning either. Just bland. The salad consisted of lettuce, one cucumber and one small slice of mushy tomato. The dressing tasted watered down and not bold at all. The toasted bun that came with it was placed under the hamburger steak and it sopped up all of the grease and was mushy and not toasty like it should be. Wife threw hers in the trash. This happens from time to time there whether you eat there or bring it home. No more. This was my last time again for a while until I hear from others about the quality, or lack thereof.
