I really want to rate Pi-Squared Pizza higher, but I'm honestly disappointed. I ordered for pickup takeout, and the service was friendly and timely, but multiple things were missing from my order, and there was no attention paid to that. I paid for a side of ranch, which I did not receive. I also paid to add arugula to the fig pizza, but it was missed. On top of that, there was no Parmesan on the chicken parm pizza. Don't get me wrong - the pizza tasted good! I loved the toastiness of the crust. However, I often have this experience with takeout where things get missed, and it's frustrating. My daughter and toddler's bread sticks were brought first, followed by a pizza that we didn't order that was never placed on our table, next part of the order that was specifically ordered to-go for my husband, and finally my son's wings. After waiting for an hour, a server asked if we were still waiting on something. I told her yes we were still waiting for a small bbq pizza. After about 5 minutes, I walked to the counter and asked for it to go because my kids had been done eating for a while and was getting restless. They explained they were just putting it in the oven and it would be another 10 minutes. The manager Crystal claimed they had made it but didn't know what happened to it. We waiting for 15 more minutes and the pizza and to-go order was brought to our table with apologies. While packing up my 3 kids, I could clearly hear the manager Crystal explaining that I had had my pizza because I had brought empty plates with Bbq pizza on them to the trash. I offered to let her check my boxes. She said she knew what was in them because she had boxed them for me. I told her to ask the servers. No one had brought pizza to our table. She got loud and I walked out with my kids. After securing them in the car, I walked back in to get her name and ask for the owners contact information. She again got loud and made a scene and asked me to leave. I will be calling Rocky, to report this as well. I will say, I have ordered from here multiple times and loved the food. I went back this past Friday night and placed an order and tried to use the gift card only to be told that it had never been loaded. She took my info said she would check to see who issued the gift card and resolve the issue, and was nice enough to let me have my order for free. Funny enough this order was also missing 2 of the 3 toppings I asked for. I came back the next afternoon when the manager told me too. I got there and she wasn't a friendly as the night before. She told me that she talked to everyone who would have been working that morning that I was given the gift card and that none of the employees remembered doing it and that there wasn't anything she could do. She said I should have gotten this employee's information when I was given the gift card. She basically brushed me off even when I told her my order wasn't correct from the night before (when she was working). Very disappointed in how the situation was handled, and they have lost me as a customer. Located in the historic drayton mill, this was my second time visiting this Detroit style pizza restaurant. Oddly enough all drinks are ordered and paid for at the register which led me to wonder how I was to provide an overall tip. Nice concept but confusing for the customer. They were WELL prepared for the restrictions place upon opening, each table was set far enough apart, they provided outdoor dining options, but based on the distance from the door we didn't partake in that option. The dining room was empty so we decided to remain inside and they even had signs posted as to how to leave your table at the end of the evening to ensure everything was disinfected properly. Silverware and condiments are obviously provided, individually wrapped and one time use. I enjoyed the Italian sausage pizza with extra cheese and extra sauce. Now they apparently put the sauce on the top of the pizza and based on how it was spread I couldn't tell if there was additional sauce or not, but either way I would prefer the sauce applied differently, due to the fact that it did get cold as I was eating. Holliday supplies the drinks (wine, cider, beer) and Pi-Squared the food. You can order at your Holliday table and Pi-Squared delivers to your table. Different pizza than you have probably had prior. You can get thin as crackers dough, thick dough (Detroit Style) and a more standard dough. And good dough at that. There are no-bone wings, salads, oven baked sub sandwiches and custard. The toppings are very flavorful and different. Whole figs and Gorgonzola cheese, boozy bacon (feta, bacon, peaches (!) wit BBQ drizzle, buffalo chicken, Greek and chicken Parmesan. Or build you own. Some, like the Detroit style, are served square, others traditionally round shaped. You have the best of both worlds: pizza and brews. Vegan/Vegetarian options for pizza are slim in Spartanburg but I was glad to see Pi-Squared offers Daiya vegan cheese. I have had Chicago and NY styles plenty of times but this was my first time having a Detroit style pie. I went with a simple vegan cheese and spinach pizza. This was an incredibly delicious pizza all the way around! From the crust to the melted vegan cheese, tomato sauce and spinach, I was blown away! Hopefully Spartanburg will support this pizza joint and give it a shot instead of automatically going to the big chains. read more
