There is a beautiful waterfall with a water area that you can swim in warmer months. An historic mill provides a nice flavor of previous times in the area. There are some trails in which you can walk around and enjoy the stream beauty. This is also great spot for a nice run. It is clean, well-maintained, and there are two really nice scenic overlooks. It's 4 miles roundtrip, but you are crossing stream, climbing some rocks and it is a very uneven trail with plenty of rocks and tree roots. Not a hard hike by any means but the streams do make it moderate. I would recommend going in a dryer season so you can actually see the bathtub!!! It was completely flooded/covered. Also if your dog does not LOVE water, DO NOT take him/her. Still very doable with a hydrophobic dog (mine)... p.s. the path is VERY ROCKY.

Hike wasn't too steep, had a few river crossings but all manageable. Trail has snow in some parts but pretty packed, gets a bit slippery at the top but all fine with just good hiking shoes with grip (I forgot my hiking poles and don't have crampons / spikes). It's very secluded. Trail is well marked. The trail starts rather easy, then gets progressively more difficult. It's a strenuous 8+ miles round trip. Not good for anyone out of shape, not safe for young kids. Must wear hiking boots. Uneven terrain, some climbing required. Make sure you have about 8 hours of daylight left before starting the hike. Very beautiful path, lots of very old, very large trees. You'll hear nothing but the trees and the creek. Incredibly peaceful environment. The falls at the end of the path are beautiful. Dare to put your toes into the cold mountain water. Be sure to bring lots of water, rations, and rain gear. Bring basic First Aid.

The prices though were clearly not a bargain. In fact, of the things I was looking for and know the competitive pricing on, I found nothing of value. The cast iron cookware was all abused or no name, or newer stuff and the pricing, while seemingly reasonable, were much too high for what you get in my opinion. If you have the time and want to be entertained and don't have something specific that you are looking for, this may be the place for you, but bring a credit card because you aren't picking up anything on pocket change.

We had an opportunity to walk the downtown area exploring the shops and dined at one of its many wonderful restaurants with friends. Whether you travel in or out of the area via Routes 321 or 421 brace yourself to experience some extreme grades being this is truly a mountain town. I think most of the trip down the mountain in our Motorhome was in low gear with the jake brake engaged. We had a wonderful visit here and although we knew this trip here would be amazing it exceeded our expectations in every way, if you are traveling anywhere close to Blowing Rock it's definitely worth spending some time here...

I was luckily able to hike most of the streets of the exclusive Mayfield Park neighborhood---all on top of a glorious hill. I sweated my way through various hill streets with exclusive views. Both Westglow resort and spa AND Chetola Resort and spa are in town ( former more private and up a hill) and a refuge for those who crave privacy. Lots and lots of inns and cutesy hotels. A quite small Tanger outlet is also in town. Savings galore for myself at Banana Republic! Lake, waterfall, trails all accessible within the town center. Boone City is but :10 north on the 321. An easy drive a bit more up the mountain. It's the anniversary of my mother's passing. Just want to spend time with God, and her spirit

Walking up on it, it seemed like a huge rose-colored Rock sugar sucker. The base is surrounded with flowers and benches to sit near by. It's simple yet beautiful. The little ladies walking by had to stop and touch the glass. It's inviting. I love little artistic surprises that show up in cities and towns as you walk around. Greenville has so many wonderful qualities all over town. I've enjoyed my short visit and look forward to next time.

Get Woke! This Wake sculpture was commissioned as part of…read morethe Mel Chin: All Over the Place exhibition that led to this artwork being displayed in Times Square. It's supposed to be animatronic and move or something, but I didn't see it doing any moving. Maybe Wake was sleeping? It kinda looks like the person at the helm of a ship, with the parts of the helm behind them. When we came, during Pandemic, the Wake person was wearing a mask, which was most appreciated. This giant work of public art is nestled in a triangular lot right next to Burial Brewery on the South Slope of Asheville's brewing district. It fits right in with all the cool, unique weird stuff going on in this neighborhood!
