We got about six and a half miles of hiking from the parking area to the view (3.25 miles). Had our picnic, then headed back. The last half a mile was pretty steep, but the views are worth it. Lots of picnic spots as well as a super clean bathroom at the top. If you don't want to hike to the top, you can get to the visit by car, so super family friendly (multi generational). We only did one trail route, but there are so many loops to keep it interesting. The trail we did was up and down too so a good variety of climbing and downhill.

Originally just a pool, athletic field and picnic area, it has expanded over the years and now includes a lighted softball-baseball field, lighted tennis courts, a playground and a one mile walking trail. This is a great playground that is fenced in to keep the little ones from wandering off. There is also a large open multiuse field that could be soccer or football or baseball or even a festival. Lots of equipment for playing on, sliding on and climbing on. Several different pieces of equipment including multiple swing sets. Much of the park is in shade and there are benches for adults to supervise. Street parking on three sides. There is a very clever swinging bridge that connects both sides of the lake to an island. On the island is a covered picnic shelter. There are several picnic shelters around the park that includes an eighteen-hole disc golf course. The Park also contains a large section of The Falcon Trail, a 2.72-mile trail, that is mostly natural surface, and is a part of the Carolina Thread Trail. I had a great visit.
