My kids and I seen the food and drink machines and took a break and enjoyed the outside view as we ate our chips and drank our juice. Then my daughter seen the children area and she made a friend and they played for a hour we loved the kitchen and doll house and babies and dinosaurs. We will be back of course.

The library can be quite crowded and noisy, especially on the ground floor. There are plenty of…read moreseats for self study on the secondary floor but again can be crowded too. The worst I want to highlight is the absence of paper towel for wiping hands dry after using the bathroom. Just within a couple of hours, I noticed a couple of inconsiderate and careless people who parked on the line in an rather crowded parking lot.

You know, it's not that it's as good as it gets in a lot of cities I've been in, but as I was…read morestaying in the energy corridor there weren't a lot of options regarding outdoor activity and I had enough of walking near Katy Frwy... One thing I noticed were the amount of hawks circling over the forest, which I think is George Bush Park, the cranes and other bird species in the reservoir, butterflies and dragonflies, and the sound of crickets and toads drowning out the highway noise. Well not totally, but it was a nice change. I went into the park a ways and it was muddy from the night's rain. There is a bike path, which I don't know is how long, but is well used by cyclists. I went there every day after the workshop to unwind and bask in the sun before dinner. It's about a 3 block walk from the Marriott to the access point near Laz-Boy furniture. Now for a funny story, well at least to me it is. The workshop is on the 10th floor of the Marriott, and I was on break overlooking the hotel across the way and the park. Dude was talking about something when I interrupted with, Oh my gosh, that hawk is HUGE!, as the one across the way looked like it had a 20' wing span. Dude was like, Uh, I think that's a vulture. Welps, so now I've seen a vulture in real life. Go Texas. Would recommend this park if you're on foot with no automobile.

This location offers used books for sale to support the library in the lobby along with its restrooms. There's a Help Desk manned by friendly supportive staff as you enter to accommodate visitors. In case you want to roam solo, there's prominent signage to guide your path. The expansive library offers something for everyone if you choose to visit for an hour or all day. Check their website for upcoming weekly family events. Reading has been a lifelong passion of mine. There's no place quite like it to get lost in.
