I have stayed here two times on an extended basis. They serve breakfast downstairs every morning. Gretchen and Jamie learn to know everyone and are very friendly and we appreciated them so much. The cleaning staff is amazing and take very good care of the rooms and were good to my pets who stayed with us as well. Even during renovations, this location holds their Marriott standards to the highest regard. A complimentary upgrade for our stay to make up for the noise was very much appreciated by both me and my grandmother. The entire staff was fantastic, especially Jasmine at the front desk. You really lucked out when you added her to your team - she is the exact type of person that every customer wants to be greeted by when arriving from a long journey. Friendly, courteous, and attentive. I hope she gets some well deserved recognition. My grandma and I visited Yuma for the first time three months ago and stayed at the Springtown Suites next door. We had a horrible experience purely due to an employee named Lizbeth. Our stay at TowneSuites entirely made up for that and then some. I drove out to Yuma last week to help out a family member. The hotel was the best part of the trip. Hot breakfast was included, our room was large and clean. All of the staff was super nice. It was 100 degrees and the AC worked like a champ! Yuma itself is the devils armpit. It's hot as he'll and nothing to do. The hotel was our oasis away from the nightmare town. read more

This is the second TownePlace Suites by Marriott that I've stayed at and I'm starting to realize there are a lot of similarities between their properties. Most noticeably is the layout of the rooms where the TV is placed off to the side of the room and not in the best viewing location from your bed. The kitchen which is tiny, is located right next to the front door. And for some reason, the bathrooms don't have good soap dishes. Instead, there is this cheap plastic tray that does not seam suitable to put your soap bar on. On a brighter note, this particular TownePlace Suites was nicer than the last one I stayed at in Tucson, Arizona, because the air conditioner did not blow directly at the bed. The air was much better regulated and comfortable. I also liked how the closet had two sets of doors, one that leads into the bathroom and one to the room by the mini-kitchen. The hardwood floors in the bathroom were also a nice touch. Overall, the hotel was very clean and the service friendly. Located right by a circle of other hotel/motels, it is super close to the Yuma Palms Regional Center shopping area. I'll probably stay here again when I'm in Yuma. read more

Nice , clean location. The studio queen room has limited square footage and is slightly cramped but the room felt clean and was up to date. The front desk staff were pleasant upon check in and check out. The room was quiet and the kitchen was clean and well stocked with supplies... The only big complaint I have is the pots and pans were Teflon instead of updated stainless Steele:( I don't use Teflon so I wasn't able to cook anything. They really need to update those pans!! The mattress was super comfortable and the room was quiet. The shower had good water pressure and the vanity had updated granite style counter tops. Decent size closet and a full length mirror available. Flatscreen TV and a writing desk. I would stay here again and would recommend to others. read more

Pros-Very nice property. Friendly helpful staff and rooms are great. Close to shopping and eats. Cons- I have been here a month and it's a busy place. The laundry room has 3 washers 2 of which have been broken for my entire stay. It's difficult to get laundry done. The hotel is in a location where Verizon service is terrible and the the available WiFi is very poor. I can't do any work from the room. Upgrade WiFi is avail but I'm not going to pay the up charge. read more

Stayed in a two room suite. Very nice, very comfortable. Well stocked kitchen, nice bathroom. Shower was great, good pressure! TV's in both rooms and one in living area. I was hoping in 2019 we would have internet. Reading all the other reviews now, I'm realizing this has been a constant issue. DON'T STAY HERE ******************** NO INTERNET ******************** I made several complaints, sent emails to Marriott Customer Care and NOTHING happened. Broken washing machine. Hotel key cards always have issues. I've had to change mine 4 times. Industrial size garage bin taking up half the hallway in front of the elevator all day, every day. STINKS like a NY subway. There are plenty of other hotels in this area. The Shilo has a huge pool. Looks nice too. This hotel pool is like a backyard pool and it's in their parking lot. Very bizarre. read more

Rooms are nice the sheets smelled so clean and crisp! Every room had a television to occupy the kids! The kitchen is stocked with nice pots and pans with teflon! Not the metal kind that makes any dinner stick and burn! We travel a few times a year so when they hotels say "free breakfast " we are not surprised by cold cereal, bagels and some juice. NOT this hotel it has two kinds of eggs! Sausages not just any sausages full size patty sausages!! Fresh oatmeal with toppings! Juice of many kinds, cereal, cocoa coffee! And tons more! With my four kids they ate plenty saved me a bill at IHOP and it was delicious! Will come only here now when i stay in Yuma,Az! read more

I do not recommend booking any conference rooms at this location. They do not set up rooms properly or follow through with prices or commitments they make. They will cancel your reservation without any notice and raise their price without any notice. This has happened to me more than once. Stay away! read more

The staff are excellent at their jobs. The biggest problem with this hotel is their internet. Down load speed is decent, but upload is a nightmare. DO NOT think that you can stay here and hold a video conference call with anyone during the weekend or evening. DO NOT think you can have a long stay here and play a video game online with your family or friends, because you won't be able to stay connected. I am a seasoned traveler, and this is the worst hotel experience I have had in years. I am Platinum Marriott/SPG member, and stay around 60 nights a year at their properties. This location does not deserve the distinction of the Marriott brand. I had been driving for almost 11 hours and was in need of a good night's sleep. Still another 5 hours to go on my drive, I was about 30 minutes from Yuma. I contacted the front desk and asked them if they could extend an early check-in. She asked if I wanted to check out Saturday (it was Friday morning a little after 4am) and I told her I planned to depart around 8pm that same evening. She told me she had rooms, and had no problem extending the early check-in. I then completed the reservation. I got to the property a little before 5 a.m., and checked in. I then woke up to a call around 1:30 from the front desk manager asking if I wanted to extend my stay. I explained to her the conversation I had with the front desk clerk when I had checked in, and prior to booking the reservation. She told me she would have to check with the GM and get back to me. She then call back around 45 minutes later and told me they could not honor what the front desk representative had told me prior to checking in, and that I would be charged for an additional night if I stay past 4 p.m. She apologized for the "misunderstanding". There was no misunderstanding, and no ambiguity about it. I had confirmed prior to booking the reservation that I was checking in for Friday and check out was on Saturday. If there is a different policy that the early morning shift didn't follow, it's on them, not the customer. This property values making an extra $100 by selling a room twice over providing excellent customer service, and it's completely unacceptable! This is the kind of experience you might expect from a value branded motel, not a Marriott property. Perhaps math isn't their strong suit either, because after posting here, other ratings sites, and Marriott's own site in addition to the lost business by my never staying at this property again, it's going to cost them substantially more in lost business, and I will be following up with Marriott directly, AAA (travel partner I book through which holds businesses they do business with to a certain standard in exchange for their endorsement to millions of their members), Chase executive concierge (whose card I used to pay for the reservation), and filing a complaint with BBB. I hope it was worth it!!!! read more

First this hotel tried to walk me to another hotel. I'm gold status. Twenty five minutes to check in after my reservation was canceled and rebooked by employees. Moldy and smoky room, unclean shower, Marriott member requests for feather free room and extra towels ignored. If you need wifi...forget it! What hotel doesn't have dependable wifi these days? Don't stay there. Your complaints will fall on deaf ears. read more

upon checking in the systems were down, we arrived into town late and i was exhausted and even though i know the front desk clerk was doing the best he could, the extra time and hassle and attitude of the employee was not a warm welcome. it took quite some time to check in. the rooms were nice and breakfast was a nice addition. the hotel was well maintained, however when i left for the day on saturday i removed all credit cards from my wallet as not to loose them on lake martinez. i left them in the room. i did not return until the following day. the room was cleaned and all credit cards were gone. the hotel staff was not helpful nor did they seam to care. it wasn't until i was able to search my vehicle and all bags that i realized that they were really gone. i had never had a problem with a marriott hotel so i refrained from jumping to conclusions until i was 100% certain that i did not misplace the cards myself. after check out i had called and requested that the original card i placed the room on be switched as i needed to remove funds from that account as i had no access to anything else. they stated that the total room cost had already been processed and there was nothing they could do. they did not look into the matter nor provide any solution. the individual helping me via phone to try to remedy the problem was rude and callous. they told me there was nothing they could do. i am 10000% positive that the cards were stolen from the room. i will be filing a police report today and will be sure to note on every website possible that the hotel employs thief's and that the management is less than helpful. i have since canceled all credit cards and this has been an absolute nightmare. i have been a long fan of marriott and stay at marriott hotels in just about every city i visit as i know that they are always well maintained and typically employ a helpful staff... however after this situation i can ensure you that this will be the last time i ever stay at a marriott hotel on sure principal alone. i would have been better off at the local holiday inn for $30 a night as opposed to spending close to $500 for 3 nights just to have items stolen from the hotel and now had to incur additional fee's and costs from my bank and credit card companies. don't stay here! read more

This hotel is ok, what they call a suite is really a standard size room with a stove crammed in it. The stove comes in handy though because the breakfast at this place sucks. Hotel is clean, and in a good location, lots of shops and places to eat nearby. read more

We have had an excellent stay at Townplace Suites Marriott. The staff is very friendly & helpful. They are always busy working, cleaning, just doing their jobs! They have excellent internet & WIFI. They offer Internet TV & it streams flawlessly. (Cannot be said for my husband's previous hotel here in Yuma.) We were able to sign into our Netflix account. Make sure you sign out before you go bc the previous guests accounts were still logged into when we turned the TVs on. My husband was here on a business trip, so the kids & I came to stay with him. They kindly upgraded our room. The rooms are clean & well kept. The closets have great organization inserts. We've used the coin laundry room as well. The pool is kept clean with fresh pool towels. We've had 2 minor issues with things in our room that were immediately attended to. While we were here they offered at 5:30pm a snack M-W & a supper on Thursday. Housekeeping staff is very friendly. There is a maintenance man who can be found working tirelessly all day doing any number tasks. You can tell he enjoys his job & takes pride in it. Thank you for a lovely stay! read more
