I would not recommend Langley Federal Credit Union. My experience with them was frustrating from…read morestart to finish. When I purchased my car last year, the dealership sold me a GAP policy even though Langley already offered complimentary GAP coverage. After refinancing through Langley earlier this year, they canceled the paid policy but kept the refund check without giving me any say in how it was applied. They also processed the refinance as a new loan rather than an internal modification (an employee informed me), which erased my payment history. To make matters worse, they falsely claimed I had refinanced the vehicle twice and refused to correct the issue. I've since switched to a new lender and couldn't be happier. Langley's online portal is clunky and not user-friendly, and overall, they are not a lender I would recommend. I also would never consider banking with them.

I had paid off the account but received a bill that di show the payment they received from me. The teller was helpful but couldn't explain the error so she said I could talk to a banker. The one banker had been rude from the time I entered the building. I sat in the lobby with two other customers waiting to see a banker. after a long wait I went to the office door of the obnoxious lady and asked how long the wait would be as I had another appointment. Shw was sitting in a dark room at her computer doing nothing. She asked for my name. then she looked at her computer and said there are two ahead of you. when I returned to my seat she called one of the customers who had been waiting before I entered the bank. I texted my husband who was waiting for me in the car to tell him about the situation. he came into the bank and we decided to leave and go to another branch. The rude banker was an extremely huge black woman who was so big it must have been uncomfortable for her to walk. She looked like there was a desk under her skirt, her posterior was huge and unsightly. maybe that contributed to her nasty attitude. I will not use this branch again.

And I was able to transfer over funds from checking and savings seamlessly. Since then, I've felt pretty comfortable being a member since I was working at NNSY as a Contractor at the time. Recently, NFCU came through for me for two separate situations. First one was withdrawing money for the trip home to Louisiana. Keeping my debit card in my wallet was a must due to a possibility of being scammed. The transaction went without a hitch. After coming back, I requested a cashiers check via their mobile app for rent payment with the complex going through an acquisition. Just like the withdrawal from a week before, seamless. I chose to pick it up at this branch right after New Years with no problems at all. NFCU truly came through for yours truly. I am very fortunate to be a member. Highly recommended :)

I'll afford you a moment to wonder why I'm writing a one-star review in late 2020; it's STILL on my account. I did my due diligence; I called, and was told it would be removed (Jan 2020). It's not doing damage, just annoying me, so I wait a while longer. I get a friendly, likely automated email from Bryan Hatchell in March thanking me for my military service, which is almost as meaningful as returning my call. I respond with a "I appreciate that; can you get this mortgage off my account, since I haven't been on the same continent in a year?". It's been six month and four emails to him and his supervisor Hal Dalton, and I'm still greeted by my non-existent ~$190,000 mortgage. I feel like they're dodging calls and emails to avoid doing the basics of their job; accurately tracking what I owe/am owed.
