Iv never stayed in such a dirty hotel in my life. The amount of dust on top of the refrigerator was crazy. When we touched the closet doors our hands turned black. There was grapes left on for which is very important as that could have killed my dog as grapes are deadly to dogs. The ac was out on top floor hallway which caused our room to not cool very well. When we arrived and checked in we were given the wrong room and not what we booked. The front desk employee who we only like a week new to the job did the very best and was super sweet and switched our room. For a Marriott hotel this is by far the worst and do not recommend. I have emailed both the general manager as well as Director of hospitality to no avail. Basically our concerns have been brushed under the rug which is very disappointing as well. read more

When you check in via the Marriott app the day before you arrive, request a couple of extra towels and pillows in your room, a top floor room, you receive a message that everything will be taken care of, and you check in at 4 pm with no room already selected, none of the extras in a room for you and certainly not on the top floor, then you are at the Towneplace Suites in Abilene. Don't get me wrong, the people are nice but why offer the service and confirm requests when nothing is going to be done? A huge shout out to the very nice lady at the breakfast room - your homemade hash Sunday morning was really good! read more

Very disappointing stay. They scheduled to have the water off due to "maintenance" on a Saturday from 10 - 6 pm. Water came back on for an hour before it was shut off again due to a water main break. I understand these things happen but the "scheduled" maintenance on a weekend is ridiculous when you have a full hotel. The customer service of the front desk was the most disappointing. If this something like this happens, you should be going above and beyond to communicate with your guests, offer complimentary bottled water so we could at least brush our teeth. read more

Weird location but pretty easy to find. The parking and check in process was super easy. My room was giant and very clean and comfortable. I have always been a big fan of the sheets that the Marriott uses. I was very impressed that during the night of my stay there was a very big, long thunderstorm and the windows were so strong that I barely heard anything. The breakfast was good and had plenty of options. My only negative about the hotel is that the restaurant isn't open in the middle of the day. After a long drive I wanted some food and it would have been convenient for me to just eat at the hotel but the restaurant was closed. Unfortunately all the restaurant options near the hotel weren't that great either. read more

Cannot help but post this picture of the kitchen RAG in our room. Really? Can the housekeeping staff be trained to replace holey towels with ones where the threads are still intact? I could use one of the holes to hang this on a towel hook. Also found a dead bug under the sink. Thank goodness it was dead. Hotel options are few here but a better job of sweeping, vacuuming, checking linen would go a loooong way! read more

Beautiful hotel remodeled in 2022. Great hot breakfast. Shelly at the front desk was wonderful. Exceptionally clean and well maintained.

Do not stay here! From the start, the experience did not meet expectations of a hotel--it was more like a motel. When we arrived the room was not as clean as it should be (toilet dirty, rug not vacuumed), especially during COVID, and towels were missing in the room. I requested towels and was told I had to come down to get them myself. The excuse was that due to COVID they did not have enough staff??? Ahhh...then only sell the rooms you can actually handle, clean and stock because rooms should be cleaned with or without COVID, but especially now. Going to get towels would have been fine, however the bad service continued. The housekeeping staff appeared to refuse to wear masks. I, of course, requested no one clean my room and cleaned myself. I asked why the housekeeping staff did not wear masks and of course was told they were supposed to...not helpful. Rude upstairs neighbor that refused to quiet down even after requested by the front desk. I spoke to Warren and he assured me the noisy neighbors would check out that day. When we arrived later that night, the noisy neighbors continued being a nuisance and the front desk had no solution other than to move me at 8PM. This may have been a solution earlier in the day, when I spoke with Warren, but instead I got the misinformation that the guests were checking out. Not sure what the intent of the Front desk was other than to provide horrible customer service. 3. Fitness room was dirty and lobby bathrooms did not have soap. There are other options in the area, stay there--I know I will in the future. read more

Husband and I have stayed at this hotel before. We travel quite a bit and stay at many Marriott hotels. We love the convenience and location of this one in Abilene. The staff is always super friendly and accommodating. On this trip, July 4th we noticed the grounds weren't as clean as they have been in the past. Didn't think too much about it at the time (trash cans outside overflowing)..I'll come back to this. We checked in, AC in room blew hot air, Warren was amazing and gave us another room. Unpacked and my husband noticed dog hair on the couch and floor. Again, didn't think much about this at the time - we have a dog and know it is difficult to vacuum up all the hair. After visiting with family, came back to the hotel. Noticed the trash hadn't been emptied from outside...didn't say anything only because we weren't 100% sure that housekeeping wasn't working on it. Get to our room to get ready to take a bath, had to clean the hair from the shower and the tub. Went to bed and woke up the next morning. Showered and got dressed. Husband dropped his brush on the floor by the mirror and had to move the bench to retrieve it...that's when he noticed the floor had not been vacuumed in lord knows how long. Did a run through to make sure we didn't forget anything and opened the closet only to find a laundry basket with dirty pillow cases and towels. Floor in the hallway had not been vacuumed since we arrived, trash bins by elevator over flowing (still had the same trash from the day before) and the trash from outside was NEVER emptied. All the blame does not lie on management or the clerk...it is Housekeeping and the lack of pride I think in their work. Everyone that works there was super friendly and accommodating... clean towels for the pool, etc. Yes I'll return and stay again, and if I notice these things again, I will say something. Oh my number 1 complaint before I forget.... turn the TV to a channel you want to watch and then turn it off. When you turn it back on it goes straight to CNN. That is BS!!! DO NOT PUSH YOUR POLITICAL AGENDA OR MEDIA PREFERENCE ONTO PEOPLE WHO VISIT YOUR ESTABLISHMENT. read more

BUYER BEWARE!! Gale and her staff are rude and unsympathetic to your needs. Very "Un-Marriott-like" service. Too many other good hotels to chose from where good service and customer satisfaction is still a priority. Marriott still believes that but this hotel apparently does not. Disappointing Darla-thank you for responding to my review. Unfortunately the issue was after booking my reservation pre-paid for a business trip and there was a schedule change four days before my reservation Gale refused to even listen to my request for an exception and submit a refund. She was very short with me and instead of listening she interrupted me several times telling me how clear it was on the website that my reservation was non refundable and that I was "wasting my time". Sadly, even though Marriott customer service understood and submitted a refund request, your hotel was happy to take my money even though I did not stay at your hotel. I understand rules but life happens and good customer service should never take a backseat to rules. read more

Fabulous rooms, comfortable bedding, fluffy towels, lovely pool with fountain, immaculate exercise room, beautiful property! Breakfast was standard. Starbucks cafe is in the adjoining Courtyard (shared entry way). Everyone was very friendly. Highly recommend. Very close to Abilene Christian. read more

Desk staff was very cordial. Housekeeping is another story. We were traveling with our small dog who was kept in her kennel during our overnight stay. Upon leaving the following morning, we checked under the bed to ensure we didn't miss any items. To our dismay, we saw three piles of dried feces under the bed. When we got home, I called the MOD who said he'd investigate immediately. I've yet to receive a return call, or an emailed survey like I did at the same brand in El Paso. Stay away! read more

I am in the middle of a ten day stay here with my wife and daughter for business. The staff has been so kind and helpful, breakfast is tasty, and most importantly for me my dog is welcome here. Happy hour everyday is nice too, great drink specials every day. The rooms are clean and well equipped. Well done! read more

This is a very nice and clean hotel, from the moment you walk in, you can smell that it is very clean! They have free wifi and a good breakfast (Sausage, eggs, waffles, bagels, muffins, coffee, juice, etc...) I would definitely stay at this hotel again whenever I am in town. read more

Very big room, very comfortable beds. Staff was extremely accommodating and very nice, friendly. We arrived very late at night and gave us a late checkout the following day as we were exhausted. My one complaint, out room smelled very musty when walking in. Not sure why, and soon faded, but overall a very comfortable property. Great nights sleep. Quiet too. read more

We've made three trips to Abilene this year. On all three of our visits, we chose TownePlace Suites for our hotel accommodations. This place does an excellent job providing for/taking care of their customers. Rooms are modern, clean, and comfortable. Their hot complimentary breakfast is typical fare but their service in the kitchen is outstanding. On the days that Beth worked the kitchen, we didn't have to ask for anything. Food was hot and plentiful, coffee was made fresh and hot, this young gal working the kitchen area did an amazing job. Beth was fast, friendly and provided outstanding customer service. The pillows and beds are horrific! I'm on the road all the time and spend half my life in hotels. Can't remember when I had a worse night. The hotel is new, rooms are nice free brkfst. That's great but ultimately I need a comfortable bed and a good pillow so I can sleep! If you need a place to hang out this would be great. If you want /need rest, NO WAY! Go somewhere else. BTW the fold out bed in our suite was like a Midevil torture device! read more

This is a very nice hotel. Very clean and the staff is wonderful. Was here for a hospital conference and it was a tight fit into the rooms. I think we were 130 people total. You couldn't get past the chairs to get to the door if you needed to take a call. The parking was well lit and very clean. I didn't have the time to get out to the pool but it is very nice. I believe that this is the nicest one in town. We did enjoy the Starbucks as a treat that's in the hotel. That was a bonus point:) read more

We were only here for one short night, but could have easily stayed longer if needed. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly. Our room was wonderful and very quiet. We enjoyed the bar too as it had many televisions, even at each booth, which was great for watching sports. The breakfast was ok, but very convenient. My stay here was awesome until the last night which kind of ruined it for me. I am here for work and work close to 12 hour stressful shifts and all I expect from a hotel is cleanliness-- well after getting off my shift and coming back today my room has not been cleaned I thought no big deal I'll just call and ask them to come clean it they said they would take care of it. As I come downstairs the front desk tells me that actually all of housekeeping has left for the night (it was 6pm) and that no one could clean my room. It was a bummer but whatever I just asked if I could please get some towels they said they would put them in my room by the time I get back. I get back a four hours later and no towels. I call the front again asking them for more towels they say they already gave them to someone staying with me-- I am staying alone. I go back and forth saying I never got towels (I just want to shower and go to bed by this point) and they ask how many of each thing I want I tell them and they send someone up finally who gives me nothing close to what I asked for. I just took them from her and took my shower because I was exhausted. Really disappointed because my stay was wonderful until this point-- isn't it kind of the most important job to make sure each room gets cleaned?? read more

I made a reservation on the hotel website for six rooms on March 2nd this year for my upcoming visit next week. I reserved these rooms at a government/military rate. I also called the hotel on November 16th to reconfirm reservation. On December 4th I received an email from Sylvia Holcomb who cc'd Darla Yarbrough(manager) stating that "The rules regarding use of the government rate allow for only 2 rooms per night with proper ID." Also, "The government per diem rose to $93 on 10/1/17". Upon review of my confirmation agreement it does not state that you can only book two rooms at the government rate nor did their front desk mention to me on November 16th that I could only reserve two rooms and that my room rate had increased. I spent over 20 years in the military and I feel this hotel is trying to discriminate against the military/government employees. I am going to keep my reservation and we will see how it works out. read more
