I called Hampton in Inwood and explained then asked if they could refund as we had not even been the hotel. The desk clerk 'No she could not help me because I was digitally checked.' I said thank you and hung up. The current Hampton Inn clerk said that they checked the room and refunded people occasionally for the same thing. So I called the Inwood Hampton Inn again asked nicely after explaining what the current HI Desk Clerk had said. The Inwood Hampton Inn clerk said "Well that is why you should not digitally check in until you are here" I had to take my two overstimulated overtired children to the car crying while they had a complete meltdown in the parking lot as they begged to please let them go to sleep in a bed. I drove thirty minutes away to the Inwood Hampton Inn and put my kids to bed. While the room was clean and organized, I am not staying at this one ever again because I can't think of anything to make up for such behavior from the desk clerk. I don't know why she was rude and disrespectful with both her tone and words but I am definitely disappointed with Hampton Inn Inwood. I wouldn't stay at this Hampton Inn. There are however four HI within thirty minutes of it. I would recommend the Hampton Inn in Wenchester VA as they were kind and helpful. As to what you could do... understand that the digital key has its holes in the system as does anything, so have contingency plans and empathy. People that have been on the road all day are going to make mistakes and since that is your demographic it would behoove you to train your personnel

I had looked on the site before our trip and the fact there are refrigerators in the room is not listed there that I could tell, which was disappointing as I would have liked to bring a few things of my own for the week. Cleanliness of the room and the lobby was 5-stars and I do like how large the lobby is with lots of room to spread out, a pool table, tvs and sofas, etc. Noise was not an issue for us, as others have mentioned, but we were on the top floor so perhaps that helped. Internet was speedy and we had zero issues with it, which is important as we both spend lots of time online in the evenings catching up on work, loading photos, and updating our social media accounts. My big gripe is the fact that I need to get on the phone today and dispute my charges that have appeared on my credit card. The day we were to check out all these random charges started hitting my account, large amounts and just with no rhyme or reason. I decided to wait a few days and see what actually remained at the end of the day but for some folks that could have created real panic. When it all settled I've been charged $131.66 more than I was quoted for the room, and more than my receipt says. I am not looking forward to having to spend phone time resolving this. Who has time for that?! Fingers crossed it is quickly resolved. **Left message for the manager with no call back after a few days. Did he receive the message from the front desk clerk? No way to know. I called again and spoke with him and issue was worked through and solved quickly. Very nice and on top of it.

We plugged in at 7pm last night, we had 29% battery; at 7:30am it still had only charged to 48%. This added a whole additional charging stop to today's drive. Otherwise, the hotel was fine, but not being able to start a long driving day with a full charge was disappointing.

The bathroom floor tiles are cracked and had lots of mildew. There was a gross stain on the toilet. The hot water took about five minutes to start in the shower. I literally had to let the shower run forever before I could get in. Breakfast wasn't out when we checked out. We like to hit the road before 6 and the only things available were soft and mushy oranges with black spots and small waxy apples. I only gave it two stars because it was quiet and the bed was comfortable.

My son is a newly diagnosed type 1 diabetic and we could not get his blood sugar up for over 30 minutes.
