Room - comfortable enough. Definitely musty, smelled like old cigarettes. The shower was moldy -gross. Wi-Fi - it never worked for me. It would connect and then immediately drop. Boo. Shower - besides the mold, the shower never got more than "barely warm" for me and the mister. The staff is pleasant but for $150/night you can do WAY better, and you should.

Brittany Bobzien, at the front desk delivered outstanding customer service with a smile and a very positive attitude before we checked-in and during our entire stay. She gets a five star all day. The Hotel is decorated very nicely and was very clean. It also has an indoor pool for guests to enjoy. I had a very comfortable King Size bed in a very spacious room with a refrigerator and microwave inside the room. The bathroom was also very spacious and clean. The room provided Free Wi-Fi, AC, plenty of light and a large work area to complete by daily conference calls. They also provide a free breakfast buffet with pork and Turkey sausage, eggs, pancakes, waffles, cereal and milk and fresh fruit to name a few things. My overall experience was wonderful and I would definitely recommend this Hotel and location to my friends and family. It was the comfortable king size bed for me.

Some locals would say it's not in the best neighborhood, but we never felt unsafe or worried about our vehicles during our stay. Our room was clean, the bed was super comfy and it had a large screen TV, desk, chair, dresser, coffee maker, safe, etc. (Typical standard hotel room stuff). We traveled with our dog, there is a $25 pet deposit for having a pet with you. Our stay was quiet. There is a restaraunt located in the hotel and they offer grab and go items and continental breakfast. I cannot comment on the breakfast because we decided to go to a local restaurant for breakfast. Overall our stay was pleasant and we were grateful to find a great pet-friendly hotel in Janesville!

So we made a reservation under the Brides' reservation block price. The price was about 20-30 dollars less then quoted on line. We needed an accessible room and that did not change the price. The check in process was easy. The gentleman at the front desk was helpful and friendly. When we were getting ready to make it to the wedding location, he helped make sure we were pointed in the right direct. The room was clean and well maintained. The beds was comfortable. The bathroom was clean. It was not the most accessible tub I've ever seen. There was a bar in the tub and between the tub and toilet. My friend was okay with it because it was only going to be one night. There was a second vanity with a coffee pot. The room had a fridge/freezer and a microwave. The exterior of the building is dated but it looks like it will be getting an upgrade. The hotel is on a frontage road. It can be trick to get in and out because the street is not an outlet on one end. But again the front desk staff was helpful with that.

Well, ya gotta be able to stay somewhere and my first choice was filled. I remembered this older…read moreproperty and made a reservation. It used to be a top-notch hotel, locals tell me it has operated under several banners over the years. No one remembers exactly, but it probably started out life as one of the Hoffman House properties, based on the skylight dome over the pool area, an iconic symbol of the Hoffman House properties in their salad days. But it's not a Hoffman House anymore, it's a Ramada. At one time, Ramada Inns enjoyed a great reputation with several 4 and 5 star properties but not so much anymore. The iconic sign with "Ben" in the long coat and trumpet assured a traveler of a good night's lodging. Well, Ben is gone and there is no longer a Ramada corporation that owns properties, all Ramada Inns today are franchises with little consistency between the properties, there are good and bad throughout the line. Although this is an older property, it has been refreshed. (The lobby is being remodeled as I write this review.) There is newer carpeting throughout. There is a restaurant on the property (probably the only hotel in Janesville with a restaurant on site) but I did not take advantage of it so I have nothing to report about it. I was assigned a spacious, comfortable room, just steps from the huge pool/whirlpool area. My recently refurbished room had new carpeting, a remodeled bathroom and new wallpaper. It was equipped with a flat screen tv, single-cup coffee maker and an ironing board and iron. There was no microwave and no refrigerator, but the ice machine was steps from my door. Overall, this property offers slightly above-average lodging. There were several little annoyances, like a rotational clunk in the old heater, 3-way light fixtures with 1-way curly French fry light bulbs and a single, unexpected step here and there. The elevator didn't align with the floor (it stops a little high) making it an effort to get my rolling suitcase into the car. The exterior doors are pretty beat up and don't appear to have operational security locks. There aren't enough handicap parking spots and it appears to only have one handicap entrance. There is free Wi-Fi but it is slow. Getting into the property is easy enough and the entrance is just off I-90/39 on Wis 26 north. Getting out is a bit more tricky, a one-way street going the wrong way means you must drive around the back of the hotel. Turn left to go back to Wis 26 and turn right to get to US 14 going east. Despite the little annoyances, the hotel was quiet, the bed was comfortable and the price was a little high but in line with rates in the Janesville area. (The Holiday Inn Express is in three digits.) Overall, it was fine. If I were to ever return to Janesville for an overnight stay, I would seriously consider this property because it offered a good value for a night's lodging.

For the rate of $175 in that area and the way they advertise online you may think you are getting a decent hotel for a quick 1 night stop. This place is utterly disgusting and full of people who either are here to party and get drunk at the near by bar or use as a babysitter for their kids while they avoid parental responsibilities. The pool is full of children and NO Parents!!!!! The elevators are broken The side entrances to the hotel are supposed to be locked and opened only by patrons with a key card, however they don't lock and remain open to all. You will find ashtrays within a foot of every door so naturally upon entrance the place smells so strong of cigarettes I thought I was in a cheap Vegas casino. Once you get past the initial smell of cigarettes you will be overwhelmed by the smell of mildew and moisture. Suddenly you will be in a dark damp space but don't worry because they have placed a very loud large dehumidifier in the main hall for your convenience. Just 2 doors down was my room, and again another dark, damp, space that felt gross and I had an immense fear of my bare feet touching this carpet and even worse the bathroom floor. Not one of us in the group felt comfortable to shower in that bathroom/ shower. We used portable seat covers when we had to use the toilet. I right away brought out a flash light and pulled the corner of the sheets back fully expecting a stained mattress and bugs, however I will give them that fact that they had very clean mattresses and linens. The beds were hard as a rock and the pillows were so small they could have been throw pillows on a toddler bed. The room was an adjoining room and with paper thin walls and old outdated doors we heard even the lowest noises from the next room. Forget a good nights rest, we slept in hoodies and were out the door by 5am. At one point there was an entire group of people feet from our window right at the AC to our room smoking weed and cigarettes. Our room took in both smells. It was awful! Did I mention the guy passed out in the grass? Likely drunk. I called the front desk asking to just be able to leave with a refund as it had only been 2 hours and we were not feeling safe and our room smelled of cigarettes. The front desk lady was nice enough, but decided to walk to my room and asked me to come show her where people were outside smoking..... I just politely told her that now it's obvious I look like I'm ratting on people and I don't want any problems. So we ended the "walk through" and she said even if she could refund and let me do an Early check out there are no hotels available in Janesville or neighboring cities. I think that was BS. We also noticed the furniture on one side of our room was leaning away from the wall, no wall mounts. Just leaning to the point the drawers all rolled open. This uneven floor and the fact that it smelled and felt damp made me think either there 2nd floor pool is leaking into the building or they have major plumbing issues. RUNAWAY! AVOID.

It has to do with building Check in: uneventful- staff at desk / excellent Opening Door 1 on way to Room 108. Met by an intense odor of mold and mildew smell. Our room wasn't much better; stains (blood/ poop) in few places on carpet. Walls are paper thin and gas adjoining rooms with a door. Old school Holiday Inn I'm betting based on size of pool dome room area. Room wasn't much better fairly well appointed but dated. Very dated. Long story short after 3 hours of listening to screaming kids next room over; did I mention connecting rooms, and 3 trips to front desk to complain we got moved at 0045 AM to another room in third floor. Mold smell wasn't as bad but it was there. Needless to say; didn't get quality sleep and checked out early. NEVER TO RETURN. Again. Staff was excellent. So this is definitely not a reflection upon them. It's probably a foreign owner trying to squeeze every nickel out of the place. Under a hotel brand we trust; or at least we did. It's not the brand; but the area or district managers for Wyndham who NEED to visit this hell hole of a property. The mold smell is nauseating at the least by Door 1 in the hallway. Now after a trip in a box called an elevator we saw the pool is actually on the second floor. It's either wet feet/ people dripping on carpet on way back to rooms or pool equipment has a leak Enough said. Spend your hard earned money another hotel. Thanks

This hotel is a complete horror story. I've spent over 100 nights in hotels in the past year, and…read morenothing matches this in terms of the flat out disrespect I received all around. Check-in was fine. Room cleanliness was also fine. That's where the positives stop. Around 8PM, I notice a large gathering out in the parking lot. It almost looked like a tailgate party - about 20 to 25 people and their kids hanging out and running around in the parking lot. Even on the second floor, I could hear the noise, but whatever, it's only 8, I can deal with that. Around 9, half of the group moves inside. Their rooms were directly across from me, next to me, and in other rooms down the hall. From 9-10 PM, kids were screaming, running down the hall, teens running down the hall with their shirts off, families leaving their door to their room open while yelling, playing music, dancing, and banging on items. At 10 PM, I call down to the front desk and respectfully make a noise complaint. The attendant comes up and asks someone to settle down. They do not. At 10:30 PM, I see guests walk down the hall with their belongings, apparently leaving the hotel due to the noise. Throughout the night, the noise only gets worse. At midnight, I make my second noise complaint. Front desk said, "When I went up their last time they told me they were just getting their kids ready for bed. I'll come up there again and tell them to quiet down." She very well may have, but I was looking through the door and never saw her come up. Regardless, they never settled down, and now started banging on garbage cans and pounding on doors in the halls. At 12:30 AM, I had enough. I go downstairs and notice another guest leaving the second floor to go downstairs. I helped her with her bags and wait at the front desk. I then met with a regular guest, who said that a very large family bought up a few rooms for many days, and that it has been loud for a while. He suggested I asked to be moved instead of check out for the night. When the front desk attendant returned, I asked to be moved. She said she can't, as she already moved the last person to the last available room. I then asked to check out. She only offered me a partial refund, because I already stayed a few hours. I'm sorry, I pay to sleep, not by the hour - hours of straight disrespect. After further argument, and no apologies, I get a full refund (aside from a dollar). How could any self-respecting hotel employee even argue with a customer about this? I was nothing but respectful and courteous the whole time, never once blaming the employee. I am writing this review tonight from the Quality Inn the next town over, and I am glad I checked out. I am a Platinum member with Choice Hotels and consistently stay with Choice for work. This is ridiculous, and the place honestly needs to be investigated by Choice. When multiple guests complain and check out or request to be moved, how about you kick out the problem guests? I'm guessing either their money (20ish guests for 5ish nights) trumps ours, or the manager knows that family and doesn't allow them to be kicked out. Either way, I am referring this whole situation to Choice corporate, and I will make sure none of my coworkers book at this hotel.

The food we'd left in the fridge was on the floor, and the magnets we'd used to hang our calendar were missing. The calendar was also on the floor - A lot of staff members were super rude to us for no reason - There were roaches behind the TV once - There were multiple couples that were constantly fighting and screaming, even late into the night. One of them had really loud "adult activities" the last night of that stay. None of these people were banned - Someone's child spent a whole stay constantly kicking the wall. Nothing was done about this either - We were banned for supposedly "trashing our room". We didn't. The guy in charge that day admitted to NOT EVEN CHECKING the room and taking the employee who reported us at her word.
