I had no idea this place existed until we had an invitation. The sad part? We live in Stoughton! I'm glad I know about it now, even though our wedding is in the past, but I can throw it out to people I know that are planning their own. This venue is a one-stop-shop. You can have your ceremony in one barn, and transfer to the larger barn for the reception. It is quite spacious inside, as the wedding we attended was quite large, closer to 300. And the head table reminded me of a renaissance style set-up where it fit 24 people and was two tables wide all the way down. So that took up quite a bit of space too. Their bartenders were very friendly, and I thought their bar set up was efficient. 3 bartenders may have been all they could throw back there without tripping on each other, but that is something they maybe could've had one more of. The dinner was catered in, but it seemed like the photo booth and the ice cream "truck" they had at the wedding was something they booked from the Fields Reserve directly, which is quite efficient. I will say, that from my event planning background, the tear down time was quite lengthy. It was almost 40 minutes between the start of tearing down tables for the dance floor, until the first dance. So from a guest point-of-view, that would be something to work on. And just a housekeeping thing, especially when guests will be leaving in darkness, more lighting on the initial decent of the driveway as you leave. It is also a little overgrown, and because it's a tighter driveway, if another car is coming, it could be a close call. So that's something to think about too. Great newer venue option for our area though!

I attended a wonderful wedding last night at the only barn wedding facility in the state. Women…read morewore dresses, skirts and pant outfits. Men wore suits, business casual and jeans. The barn was nice and clean. They have beautiful bathrooms. The wedding ceremony was at 500pm in front of the oldest hickory tree in the county. They set up 200 chairs with an aisle down the middle for the wedding party to enter. The property has a nice area to take pictures and enjoy and outdoor pre-reception. Our reception was inside the barn we ate comfortably and heard bride and groom stories, prayer, a charge from the father of the bride. Dinner was catered by Thunder Bay Grill. The wedding party DJ played nice taped music during the dinner. Dessert was a cheesecake. At the end of the reception we launched balloons with lights in them sending off in the air on a new adventure, just like the bride and groom. A beautiful night. I highly recommend this facility.

An added plus was the loft which was ideal for video and a birds' eye view of the ceremony. Location was within minutes of hotels, so guests didn't have far to venture. The fact that the ceremony AND the reception were in the same building was really neat. The turnaround from "chapel" to "dance floor" was fast, too! Both times I went they did not have an actual bartender, so I was unable to order any cocktails off their menu. They can pour wine/beer, though. But I'd really like to try some of the new things I see on their drink menu. The frustrating part is that I never know when they're open. I try to call ahead and assume if I don't get an answer they're closed for an event. I've no idea what their hours are or which days they're usually serving to the public. The people: Kelly, the event coordinator, was not only extremely helpful, organized, and on top of every last detail, but is also just a wonderful woman who I am glad could be a part of our day! She clearly loves her job and I never once felt like "just another bride," even though we were already her third wedding that month. It felt like our wedding was as special to her as it is to us. Tim, bar manager, is there during weddings and closes out the night. He also went above and beyond to take care of us and our guests. The space: Talk about beautiful! The ceremony space looked out over Lake Kegonsa, with a lovely dock and trees which frame, but don't obscure, the view. Lots of great opportunities for photos! We chose not to go onto the green since there were nice backdrops around the building, but couples who would like to should know that only the couple and photographer are allowed onto the green for photos. The building is very nice, and new flooring had been put in right before our wedding. We had 90 people at our wedding, and we fit very comfortably with some room to spare. The décor is neutral enough not to compete with your decorations, but otherwise has a very supper club kind of vibe. The food: HOLY SMOKES! I don't think a single plate went unfinished. We were blown away at our tasting, but I was curious if they would be able to duplicate that high of quality when producing dinner for nearly 100 people at once. They did! Everything came out efficiently, hot, and delicious. We served the tortellini alfredo, the chicken dutchesse, and prime rib. The issue we have is that there is no reasonable value. The prices are just as high as any nice restaurant but since we pay a membership fee, we would think there would be some benefit of better prices considering the quality of food. The food is inconsistent as well as the service. I've had burned pork chops. Picnic style salad bar that reminds me of a roadside diner. Dry burgers, cold fries. We have waited half an hour for food at times. They run out of fish on a Friday. We were seated recently on time at our table which really is nice as it overlooks the lake. But then we got a basket of hard , dry and tiny dinner rolls with no side plates. Were we supposed to butter them on the table? We waited 20 minutes and no one came for our order. There were only six tables seated--- So we left. On top of that, we are now having to pay a monthly fee to cover repair costs for the retaining wall and that will cost as much as the yearly membership fee. So the cost is double. We do get a "customer appreciation" pulled pork dinner with music on the patio, which is really nice. But, where is the value? We will not renew our membership and we are not alone.
