The cashier was struggling to deal with this line by herself, and I clearly heard her call for help multiple times, but no one came. She ultimately needed a manager, and one came down for her. This manager had the rudest, snarkiest attitude I had ever seen and berated the cashier as to why the line was so long. This is not the first time I've seen her be rude to her employees. She's also very rude to customers. She has an attitude and talks to everyone as if they're stupid or beneath her, and I've heard from other employees that she's made people cry and is always yelling. She wears glasses and has an accent. Menards, do better and find management who values employees the way they should be valued. No wonder I'm always seeing new faces at the front desk and cash registers.

But this is no ordinary hardware store. This is also the Michigan hobby shop and hardware store Mecca!! We found the coolest remote control micro drones, remote control cars, planes, trucks, helicopters, trains, and everything else you can imagine. There was a complete aisle of Boy Scout supplies and another for the Girl Scouts. We bought several things for homeschool in those aisles. The train aisle not only has trains and tracks but everything you need for building layouts, gardens and miniatures. They had slot cars GaLORE!! If your are an enthusiast or a collected you really need to check out all the cool slot cars. I was drooling over quite a few. Be sure to look up when you get to the hobby area. I have shopped at this location several times and I have never been treated the way I was today, April 6. 2026, 4:43PM. I was attempting to purchase the 4 step Lawn treatments on sale for $94.99, for Ace Hardware members. However, the cashier was ringing it as the full price of $119.99 and charging tax on the $119.99 instead of the sale price. I inquired to him about the charge of the tax, his reply was that this store has their own tax of $7.00 to everyone. I requested the manager, who corrected the cashier on the tax. I explained the problem was the price being charged instead of the sales price. The cashier, in lane #1, got very upset and said this is dumb either you pay or not. I'm not going to be overcharged because you say so. He was very irritated and argued with the manager as well. This time he said I was acting dumb. The manager did not give his name or the cashier name. I was terribly upset and informed the cashier that he should never argue with the customer and call them dumb, when you were in the wrong not me. During the incident, other customers were observing the interactions, and refused to go in his lane after I ended my transaction. If I visit this Ace Hardware Store again and this particular cashier is the only one checking out, I will not make a purchase there.
