Cons; 1) They do provide bathing soap however no shampoo. They sell shampoo and shaving cream at the front desk. 2) coffee maker needs serious cleaning. Stayed here 8,9,10 of June in room 107 for $70.53.

The wash clothes had brown stains like someone had just used them to wipe their rear end. The sheets felt grimy I wouldn't dare sleep on them. The carpet also felt so dirty and damp that I had to keep shoes on the entire time. I can not believe it cost over $70 to stay in such an awful place. It's really sad that this is the only place to stay in the area and that no competition has made them step up their game and maybe at least get a pack of clean towels for their guests.

I have been staying at Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express but after a few issues at HIE, I decided to give Hampton a try. The good: My room was clean and comfortable and check-in was easy. The free breakfast in the morning was good as free breakfasts come. There appeared to be some sort of evening reception with drinks and snacks but I didn't get to participate. The hotel was also reasonably quiet which was impressive considering how close it was to 49. The rest: My room was set to 78 when I arrived. 78 is way too warm for a hotel room. This was probably some sort of cost-saving thing but I like my rooms as cold as humanly possible. It got that cold but it took a while. The hotel is kind of far from the city center which is where the restaurants and my work is. It's kind of far for Alex which means a 10-15 minute ride depending on traffic. Where I normally stayed was less than five minutes but all in all, it really wasn't that bad. Would I stay here again? Absolutely. I still prefer the HI downtown since it is more of a full service hotel (it has a bar) and is closer to my work, but I would definitely keep Hampton on your list.

Britton, the manager, was very helpful from the planning stages of our trip and throughout our stay. The place was renovated back in 2014 when Britton's son-in-law bought the place, and I must tell you they did a great job. The cabin was comfortable and CLEAN! Now that's not a word usually synonymous with a fishing camp, but here it's seems to be the norm. Easy access to the boat ramp, nice dock, and fish cleaning station. If you're fishing beautiful Lake Concordia or one of the many other lakes in the area Sportsman's Lodge is where you wanna stay. We met so many nice folks and everyone was willing to share information on area lakes as well as Lake Concordia. We really enjoyed our stay.

I get an additional $21+ charge on my card from the hotel itself. I called and was told it was an additional "amenities fee". I used no amenities. I have used this third party booking site many times, and have never been charged an additional fee by the hotel itself. Totally deceptive practices. Shame on you.
