Although I have known Dr. Thomas Gettlefinger for many years, I only just became his patient…read more I have developed medial issues which require vision care by an opthalmologist (medical doctor), rather than an optometrist. I have always had the utmost respect for Dr. Gettlefinger ass a fine gentleman and a very smart physician. However, I would like to share about my experience with him now that I am his patient. To sum up my experience, he is a wonderful physician who is as fine and smart as I have known him to be prior to my becoming is patient. Not only did I receive a good and thorough evaluation during my visit with him, but I also can tell you about his compassion towards me, his concerns and empathy for me related to my medical condition that can have an effect upon my vision, and his attentiveness in the conduction of my eye treatment. He is one of those physicians that a patient just seems naturally 'bond with' in the establishment of the patient/doctor relationship. Then, there was the respect for me as not only a patient, but as a human being. There was also his treating me with dignity. There was his encouragement for me to deal with a tough situation. And, he didn't just try to sell me some new glasses, either. He said he could give me a new prescription, but there was so little to no change in my vision, so that the cost of replacing my current glasses with new ones would not justify the cost. Therefore, he definitely seems to understand the financial concerns that patients have. Also, another very important aspect of my treatment with him, I was seen very promptly upon arrival, and he spent a great deal of time with me. I also found his staff to be efficient in carrying out their duties in their part of my exam preparation, as well as very congenial and courteous toward me. If you are looking for an opthalmologist, I highly recommend Dr. Thomas Gettlefinger. I would give him 100 starts in my review, if that were possible.

This past Thursday I had an appointment to see if I qualified for cataracts. Everyone was very nice…read morewhen I arrived at my appointment. The front desk receptionist was very cordial and nice. I did not have to wait that long for my appointment. It was probably about 10 minutes and then I was called back to one of the exam rooms. Jessica introduced herself to me and was very nice. She completed a bunch of tests and then we went back to another room and ran other test on another machine. She did have to dilate my eyes so they could make sure of my measurements on one machine. After recording all the needed data, Dr. Wynn came to greet and discuss next steps. He did inform me I needed cataract surgery to correct my long distance vision. He gave me other details about the lens and the surgery itself. I felt very comfortable talking to him about the surgery and all the information he was sharing. Karen helped me with my appointment date and explain the procedure to me and all the ins and outs. She also gave me a folder of information to read at my leisure. I was given the option to get the eye drops from the office and she asked if I had any other questions about the surgery. I appreciate the professionalism and how nice everyone was to me at the office during my appointment. I am looking forward to having the surgery and I trust Dr. Wynn will do an excellent job.

First of all, Dr. Wynn is amazing. I have no issues with him whatsoever. The problem is with…read moretrying to get in touch with anyone through a phone call -- never an answer -- never a return call after leaving multiple messages. Have been trying to reach them to pay my bill & they do not even call back about that which is a major frustration. They keep mailing bills but I do not send checks or credit card information through the mail. Furthermore, if you try to set up on the patient portal, they want your credit card information & I will not do that. Looks to me like whoever is running that office is NOT doing a good job. It is almost enough for me to want to change providers.
