This location is huge and pretty clean. The only downside: Every time I've been here and needed assistance, it has always been difficult to find a salesperson to help me. Yes, it's cramped, and hard to navigate, and uninviting. At this point you're wondering how this possibly ended up with three stars. But here's the thing, because there are so few reasons to come here, there are few people who do come here. Which means, if you're looking for last season's toys, then you just might be able to find them here. That's why you come to this store. Because you want the out-of-stock toys that cost a fortune on ebay. Somehow they're still cheaper here. That's about the only thing you'll find cheaper here. The selections here are good! I was looking at the strollers and I wondering how new parents decide which one to get and what model and what functions!! I don't wanna grow up, I wanna be a Toys'R'us kid... Yeah. Right. I'm grown up now and on the cusp of transitioning from a one-time HUGE Toys'R'us kid to a TRU Parent and I can honestly say -- WTF happened to this company? It's a total shit show now! Especially this Vaughan Mills location (and the one closer to Sherway - so I assume this shit stink is company wide). It's almost like they shrugged their shoulders and said: "Ah... screw it". Candidly, I don't shop here as much as I once did, usually stopping in for the odd baby shower or birthday gift for someone else's kid. However, TRU had the easy opportunity to win me over and ensure that my soon to arrive child's purchases would be exclusively bought here for the duration of life, but following our recent experience of completing our baby registry here, forget these jokers. So what happened? Let's chat first about the location. Messy, unorganized, and just in utter shambles. It's tragically understaffed, and the staff that is present physically are doing their best to avoid human contact (#millenials). Why are you hiring high school students who are clearly in cell phone withdrawal and angsty? Pregnant with our first, we could think (at the time) of no better place to register for the baby shower and essentials than Babies'R'Us. No appointment was necessary so we showed up to open our registry up. From beginning to end the experience was just awful. Upon arrival, we had to chase down someone just to come to the registry desk, then once we finally got someones attention we were seated (excited) only to be left to fill out online forms while they attended to other people. As soon as our profile was created we were handed a scanner, and that was the extent of their support - this process could have easily been automated with thousands of dollars on inept staffing saved. So we have the scanner now and knowing no better we figure this is how it works so left to our own devices we begin haphazardly walking about scanning items off their recommended list. Any new or soon-to-be parent will tell you though that trying to make heads or tails of what your baby will need is hard enough with help... but on your own with zero guidance? You might as well be Tom Hanks in Cast Away trying to ride a bamboo dingy out past the waves. On several occasions we asked staff for advice on some of the most confusing things like bottles, pacifiers, and crib bedding/mattresses. "one sec", "that's not my department", "I'm not sure... that one seems good" were the consistent responses -- where do you find these people? Worst of all, going back to the general disorder of this location, the selection is extremely limited (2 glider chairs and 3 cribs in store), many products are missing or out of stock, and believe it or not, some of the items available are out of their packages and even broken. Without being too harsh, I think the experience would have been similar shopping had we made a registry at Value Village or Goodwill. We completed the registry process, just because, but what should have been an exciting magical experience, felt homogeneous and lackluster... even sad. Look for my review of Buy Buy Baby (Vaughan) and our polar opposite experience this weekend and the reasons WHY we canceled our registry at Babies'R'Us and moved the entire thing over to Buy Buy Baby -- if you're a new or parent to be, you'll switch as well. read more

They don't know what a customer really needs! Every time I've to wait like an hour to get some assistance.. even though if a person comes to help with something they don't provide appropriate answers. Recently we bought so many baby items from Babies R Us.. some from the store and some from online. We explored every option before buying a travel system.. and we finalized on Graco travel system. On that day I was not happy with the person who was helping us with our questions about Strollers and Car seats because I felt like she doesn't know what exactly she's saying. She was asking her colleague or the manager over the phone all the time. At the end we decided that we'll buy the item online since our car is not big enough to hold a complete box of travel system. She told us that we can take an EXTENDED WARRANTY within 45 DAYS after our purchase.. and today we visited this store specially for taking the EXTENDED WARRANTY.. and they told us that we cannot because we had to buy that within 10 DAYS after our purchase. When we told that the girl(she was right there) told us about this.. the people said that we were being told a wrong information. So? Is it our fault or yours? I guess this is it.. not going back there ever again. Before this incident one more thing happened.. they say that they can do a price match if you are buying something and the price drops within few days.. we bought an item online and I had my receipt in my Gmail but they refused to do that and we wasted an hour just to get a "NO".. what do you think? We are thieves? We have our order code, delivery status, payment details.. what else do you want? Feeling sorry that I've spent so much money in this store! read more

They must be doing something right as this place is always hopping. Staff are few and far between, so getting assistance can be a problem...so be patient and wander the store and you'll hopefully find what you're looking for. If there's a toy made.....Toys R Us will have it. Friends have scored major discounts on games, game players and toys (their sales are fantastic). I find Toys R Us to be on the pricier side when compared to other stores that sell toys. Know your prices before you wander in. read more

Picture this: March Break, the mall is filled with parents and kids, tons of shoppers at Toys R Us, and no cashiers open. Only customer service is available who tells you, "this is not the cashier". With a screaming child in my arms, multiply that by the 8 other customers with kids freaking out too waiting around aimlessly for someone, anyone, to come over to help us... There are 4 Toys R Us stores within driving distance in our area. We visit the first store and find a wireless headphone on sale for $32. It's a good deal so we decide to get everyone headphones for this Christmas. We need 10 in total but they only have 2 in stock. So we buy the 2 that they have and drive to a second location. They also have 2, so we buy those up and drive to a third location. They are out of stock but we confirmed that they were also selling for $32 at this location. Finally, we drive to the Vaughan Mills location and jackpot, they've got a bunch. However, theirs is priced at $47. I inquire and the manager says she has to call the other stores to clarify. I show her my receipts from the first two stores. I can hear her talking on the phone and saying that "They did this at 2 stores..." referring to us as if we're running some sort of scam. Now I'm fuming. After her call she tells me that the other 3 stores are clearing them out, except... for the Vaughan location. Thus, she cannot match the price. Lame excuse because I've bought stuff on clearance before at other times and there was no problem matching the price then. Is it the individual stores decision to decide what's on sale? Perhaps, except that 3 other stores had the item at $32 and this was the one store that was selling the same item, within the same franchise at $47. At the very least it creates confusion and a bad experience, especially if you bought the item $47. So I have an idea... I buy 6 at $47, drive to another location, return them and offer to buy them back at $32. But, can't do it because the manager from Vaughan Mills instructed the other stores not to sell them to me at $32. Perhaps the final decision is up to the manager so I shouldn't be so upset... after all, she's just doing her job, even if her negative decision was inconsistent with my prior experiences. However, if anyone else find themselves in a similar situation, make sure to avoid an old, short, bitter, overweight lady with scruffy hair. Chance are, she wont rule in your favor. Instead, she'll look at you suspiciously and waste your time while tarnishing her company brand. If you have kids, it's hard to avoid Toys R Us, but there's no reason to be loyal to this business, especially with inept, disgruntled managers behind the counter who act bitter because they've come to realize that their lack of skills and apathy towards customers is barely worth minimum wage. read more

Toys R Us at Vaughan Mills My Son and I have been here for numerous occasions and celebration gifts for him or a classmate/relative. Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016 however will go down as our best visit as the staff there were ALL phenomenal and helped us out considerably as the gift card system was down and I was trying to purchase LEGO Dimensions for my Son which took a few tries. I would really like to acknowledge : 1. Sarah (Customer Service) Sarah looked around the whole store to find us when the Gift Card system was back onliine 2 Virginia (Customer Service) 3 Warren (Video Games) 4. Horrible service. I asked for assistance to grab someone and the staff simply ignored me. I purchased a humidifier there, had to return it because it was USED. When I went to return it, the CSR suggested I get the new humidifier myself as the staff was very busy and cannot help me. Toys toys toys is way over priced and their customer service is horrible. I was shopping with my young daughter when she was inquiring about shopkins. The owner was completely offended when I told my daughter I could buy the same 12 pack she wanted at toysrus for half the price and that it was overpriced at 29.99 when toysrus sells them for 12.99. He went off while smirking and saying why didn't I go to the grocery store to buy my daughter her ice cream she was eating because I could of saved money. I had never been so offended as a customer, nor will I ever shop there again. This store is definitely capitalizing on the fact people will pay anything for the latest craze in toys. I seriously tried to shop here at least 5 times, I am not the kind of guy who finds the time to write bad reviews but enough is enough. - They publish flyers with coupons, when you try to redeem the coupons there is always an excuse. Example: You can only use this 20 dollars off coupon on cribs if they are not on sale, then you check the price on sale its already 20 dollars off, thats a scam. - They publish a price matching sale but they always find several excuses to not match the product. Why the hell they offer price match? Future Shop, Canadian Tire and Best Buy can offer real price match, Toy R Us its a joke. Example of excuses: 1) This store is located out of Canada. 2) This store is in Canada but located out of Ontario. 3) This store is in Ontario but located out of a 50km range (inside the 50km you can find mainly Toy R Us) 4) This store is inside of the 50km but I have never heard about this store before. 5) I have already heard about this store before but this price is only online, you need to bring a hardcopy of the flyer. After 5th one I just gave up. - I called their customer service very patiently just to share my customer perspective on their "amazing deals", they promised an email back which of course I never received Dont waste you time at this Toy R Us in Vaughan Mills, if they treat customer like that before you shop imagine the post-sales customer service? read more
