Cool phone accessories? Yes, and then some. Gourmet snacks? Let's go! I love the staff here. I recently picked up a huge can of dry shampoo. A female staff member noticed and we talked about how her daughter swears by Batiste. I said that her daughter is one smart cookie. There is a small town feel and rapport that I love at this store. Everyone working here is so nice and helpful. You feel good dropping by. There is plenty of parking. I can enjoy shopping here at a leisurely pace. I've been coming here to shop for well over a decade. I used to frequent Walmart and Canadian Tire more back then. My shopping habits changed over the years. These days, I have a main set of stores and eateries that I love: - Winners - Staples - Plates and Bowls I love that Winners and Staples are next to each other. I tend to hit both of them. I often find something cool at Winners, be it snacks or a pair of sneakers. At Staples, I still have a love for stationery and office supplies. I especially love the discount section at the back of the store by the office chairs. Plates and Bowls offers a hybrid of Indian and Middle Eastern dishes. The chicken shawarma is incredible. I am highly addicted to the butter chicken bowl. It's the perfect, comforting combination of rice, sauce, and morsels of chicken that make me come back for more. The apple slaw salad is incredible! I have probably visited A&W the most. Before Markham got an A&W, I'd get my root beer and burger fix at this eatery. There's a drive-thru, too. I have also dined at Thai Villa. Back then, it offered cheap meal specials. I don't know if they still do. The family who owns it was friendly and the food was decent when I was last there. For food and drinks, you have Boston Pizza, Tim Horton's with a drive-thru (yep, there are two drive-thru places here), Subway, and Sgt. Pepper's Pub. There are a wide variety of goods being offered, and the prices are often even cheaper than Dollarama (though some stuff is kinda overpriced in comparison, like $30 kitchen shelves?) so I guess they win some lose some. I found some really good deals for plates, kitchenware, hair accessories, stationary, and foam rollers. Since then, this bubble tea franchise has shut down in the GTA. Chung Chun Rice Dog has taken over this spot. This change explains Skycity in a nutshell. There is a high concentration of bubble tea shops at Skycity. Competition is fierce. I was recently here, thinking that I should get some bubble tea. I actually couldn't decide because the selection was insane and proceeded with my errands instead... haha! I tend to visit Chatime the most here to get my bubble tea fix. Apart from an oversaturation of bubble tea stores, this place has a ton of food. I feel like it'll take me years to eat my way through this place. I recently visited Chung Chun and had an excellent experience. I love their Korean rice dogs and I'm thrilled that this location is a lot closer to me than heading over to North York to satisfy my cravings. My local Cheese Garden is here. I like that I can order online and drop by to pick up my goods. There are benches scattered around the plaza in case you are in a food coma after stuffing yourself to rest or take a nap. There is plenty of parking, although it does getting busy at night. Many eateries and bubble tea places open till 11:30 pm or midnight. There are other businesses, such as electronic stores, nail salons, and more. I have yet to make a dent in these categories here. The catch is that when you exit onto Midland, you can only turn right. Although it's convenient for me to turn left and head home, I don't mind cycling around the block to get home. It's safer considering how weird drivers can be around this area. One of these days, I will visit every bubble tea place here. There was a car on a diagonal slant, trying to make a left turn. Geez, thanks for blocking the entrance for everyone. I drove a bit more and used that entrance-exit to get into the parking lot. I parked a bit further away from the main entrance and walked in. Yep, this store is huge. I liked everything that I looked at. It had a cage for your cell phone. You can lock it up if you feel that you can't put your cell phone down. I also liked the socket shelf. It was a bit pricy at $39.99, though. It has a decent selection of Squishmallows. I also looked longingly at the Jets puck pillow. I wouldn't know where I'd put it if I were to purchase it, but it looked cool. The store has a great grocery section. I got some breakfast items, including crustless quiches. There was a coupon available, so I nabbed it for $1 off. There were two older women working the cashout area. The woman that helped me out was super sweet. She asked if I needed a bag. I was good without one. We also talked about crustless quiche. I have had it before and it's yummy. There is so much parking in this plaza that it's almost ridiculous. It would be perfect to hold some sort of carnival with rides. I liked my experience at this Giant Tiger. As I entered I was greeted by a very friendly lady asking if I needed help or was looking for anything in particular. I told her I was just browsing so she backed off. As I walked through the store I saw all kinds of sparkly accessories, dresses, shoes, purses and cute outfits. All displays were put together perfectly by colour and many included shoe combinations to go with the outfit. As I wandered about and fell in love with a pair of shoes the sales lady appeared. She explained that their speciality is putting outfits together for people or accessorizing and outfit that someone brings into the store. (she must have noticed the confused look on my face) Perfect!!! I am always in a rush and I am not so good at putting things together so, I picked up the shoes and then......... I asked what would go with the shoes. Yes, I know it was kinda like shopping backwards.... picking shoes first then the outfit. Not bad for someone who was just browsing. Next thing I knew, I ended up purchasing a lovely summer dress and a hand bag to go with the dress and some bling bling bracelets. My fiance was able to purchase many hoodies, and there was a lot in stock - for guys. This time though, I was impressed by the abundance of Timberland shoes, I was able to purchase a couple of men's boots for my fiance with a good price. I checked my receipt and the calculated average of savings I get is 50%. I would recommend still checking this place out, as this is a big warehouse sale, and they have a lot of different types of clothing to shop for. They have hoodies, sweaters, t-shirts, work-out clothes, work pants, winter boots, safety shoes, winter jackets, golf apparels, even beauty products and jewelery! This Reitman's is in a strip mall next to Walmart and Canadian tire. I normally don't write reviews…read moreon chains but this experience warranted a review. My mom and I wanted to buy some clothing and decided instead of going to the mall, to a location in more of a "stripmall" location. The protocol they had was amazing. As soon as you approach the door, there's a lot of signage to remind everyone to wear a mask and to physically distance. They had hand sanitizer available right at the door. The doors had a designation of in and out. We were greeted promptly. The sales were pretty good and we decided to try some pieces on. They ask you to sanitize your hands again before heading in. They checked on us regularly. Then they quarantine the pieces you don't purchase on some racks in a couple of the rooms. When you check out, they had a plastic shield for the staff and also more sanitizer available. It was a tap and go. Overall excellent experience. It made for safe shopping and took away a bit of the COVID stress.
