Went here a week or two ago and I got to say the girl (can't remember her name) who helped us find a new baby carrier was absolutely fantastic. She was a great saleswoman, very knowledgeable, kind & enthusiastic about her work. She noticed my sister and I going to the washroom with my sisters baby so she showed us the nursing room/bathroom designated for families/mothers with children. The area was clean and so much more convenient/comfortable with baby. Props to that girl, she needs a raise! Store was clean & organized. Cashier lady was also super kind! Toys "R" Us are pretty much the same everywhere... so here's the specifics to this location: Pros - This location is one of the least busy locations in the city so I can frequently find an item here that is out of stock at the other locations I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes in line to pay, even at Christmas time. Cons - I find this location to be one of the smaller locations and the parking lot can be difficult to get into and out of from Southbound on 97 street as there is no traffic control signal. Overall, of course I'll keep coming back but I prefer the West End and Southside location to this one. read more

This Toys 'R' Us location always feels small to me, but that might just be because it is smaller than the other location in town I'm more familiar with. That said, in most recent times I've been able to source a lot of good stuff here. On my most recent visit I was very pleased with how other customers were physically distancing despite the more cramped layout than some other locations. Staff were friendly: my cashier was excellent if slow (partially because of pandemic safety measures) and I was quite pleased in general. read more

I Love this place even though i'm not a kid. You can find nostalgic toys here if you look long enough. The reason I came here was for more board game collections for fun parties etc. My favourite collection is Nerf but they have advanced to newer foam balls instead of darts which makes my collection old now . Don't get me wrong the new is good but still pricey. Anyways this place is a definite must go for toy shopping hence their store name. That includes baby stuff to in their babies'r'us section which has a lot of maternity devices and maybe snacks i think. I like how they also adopted a small electronic area for gaming because these are the new times. Well improved store over the years and still busy. Parking is large but constantly busy with customers. Staff is friendly, not sure if they have washrooms. Recommended for parents looking for gifts for children or anyone who still loves toys or board games. read more

While the stock is always great with a good variety, the staff is absolutely useless every single time. This store is the most disorganized Toys R Us I have ever been to in all of Canada AND America. The staff is always kind of rude, and not very helpful at all, and generally seem to be severely incompetent to their job. I only come here when I'm in a hurry because it's close, but never give it the time of day anymore. Today especially I bought a stroller for my daughter's kid and was made to stand around for 20 minutes before they found the stroller I asked for. The woman at the till didn't even call the staff to go and get the stroller until 10 minutes after I'd been standing there. Then, it took forever to check out because even after repeating it was debit four times to Carol, she still put it in as credit and almost smacked my card out of my hand telling me I wasn't allowed to use tap. Terminate them and replace them with trained employees or actually teach basic customer service training. read more

Wow. I've never seen such horrific customer service. Three entire employees stopped the entire checkout process to kick out a small group of children attempting to make a purchase without a parent present. The entire checkout line was completely stalled out for 7+ minutes so a singular employee could act on some disgustingly ageist power trip. She even threatened to call the police on a young man who couldn't have been over 12 years old and was better behaved than the employees themselves when he inquired why he couldn't complete his purchase. 5 families were stuck watching this revolting display of incompetence. My last two visits at Toys R Us were so underwhelming I couldn't even be bothered to write a review. The lines seemed long,the front of the store was a mess,and none of the people working there really seemed happy to be working. I came back today however and it seems like they really got their act together since my last trip 5 months ago. The front of the store right now is merchandised really well and dedicated to Frozen and Lego which I have a feeling are going to be the super hot toys this Christmas there was more staff working,and they seemed far more upbeat. It feels like a different store more worthy of the reputation it had when I was a kid singing the Toys R Us jingle with my mom everytime it came on the t.v. Whether it's for baby or big kid Toys R Us has a range of toys that can't be beat which makes them a good choice when other places sell out of the more popular toys even though sometimes they aren't as easy on the pocketbook as bigger chains like Walmart and Target. read more

If you have a kid, you know toys. Toys are like crack to kids - gotta have. So, since my wee one (who's not so wee now) came onto the scene I've been indoctrinated into the land of Toys R Us. Yuppers, toys, toys and more toys. I don't remember toy stores being so big when I was a kid. I guess the cardboard box, sticks, rocks and string I used to play with as a kid held my fascination well. However, it's fun to go. Toys of every sort are there and they have a great electronics/gaming section for the older kids (Ok, who're we kidding - gamers of all ages) as well as seasonal sections - bubbles and swimming pools in the summer and shovels and sleds in the winter. Part of each Toys R Us store is Babies R Us. Talk about the first time parent being overwhelmed when you understand the amount of gear you need for your kid. EEP! However, they have a good selection of cribs, car seats, jumpers, potties, feeding gear and clothes and it really is a good place to start to get an idea of what you need. Prices are high here, but if you know what you want keep your eye on the flier. Also, check around because you can get a lot of the same toys at other large stores for less. If you go with a child to this store be fore warned. The check out is well stocked with candy and crap which is at the perfect level for little ones to reach out and take. As a soon to be first time mom, I have spent quite a bit of time in this Babies R Us window shopping and purchasing. Myself and my husband recently visited the store to finalize our registry, we purposely came to the store as soon as it opened on a Tuesday morning to avoid a busy store while registering. It was hard to find someone working, but once we tracked someone down we requested the scanning gun and got to work. We spent nearly an hour and a half adding to our registry, once we were finished we again could not find anyone working. We had to speak to a lady who was up on a machine and to be fair looked to be quite busy. We asked if we could leave the gun on the desk so she didn't have to get down and she said that was fine, she would apply all of our scans later (we had already had our registry info entered.) I went home to check the registry a few hours later but nothing had changed, waited a few more hours and checked again to find still nothing had been added. I called the store and described the lady we had spoken to, I was told she was the assistant store manager and was transferred to her. She confirmed she hadn't forgotten to add the items and they take 24 hours to appear. No problem. However, it has been four full days and still nothing is there. I am absolutely dreading coming back to re-register for everything, I would be much happier to encourage my friends and family to spend their money elsewhere, but unfortunately Babies R Us has a bit of a monopoly on baby registries and locations all over the country. I will absolutely not be leaving the store a second time without some sort of confirmation that my efforts have not been a waste of my time. read more

This is probably the most well-stocked Toys R Us in the city. Probably because it's on the very edge of civilization in North Edmonton, while the other two TRUs are right next to major centers (Gateway & West Edmonton). It's a huge shocker to see otherwise-rare toys being piled high to the ceiling (almost literally!) due to an excess of stock! I've never seen Mattel dolls piled this high, for example, and often with characters that are hard to find elsewhere. For this reason alone, parents are probably wise to check this location first, as the other two will be sold out MUCH more quickly! It's pretty well-staffed, too, considering there's a lot of retail at the close-by Northgate. You'll usually see 2-3 people walking around a single section, which probably helps keep the store clean. You rarely see the disasters like the nearest Walmart location has in its aisles. Visually, it's essentially the same as every other Toys R Us, except the Babies section has a different entrance and a wall blocking part of it off for some reason. Only a few minor layout differences are obvious (usually where they put puzzles, board games and other things). read more

I hate everything about this store. The staff is useless. They never have what is in their flyer in stock, even on release day. Raincheques are useless because unless you call the store EVERY day until the item is in, you won't get it - they will never call you. They sell USED car seats advertised as new which is totally dangerous. Their staff knows nothing about the car seats either. The store is always a mess. You're better off going to a real toy store like Mastermind instead of this junk store. read more

I purchased a gift card before christmas. The person I gave it to went to use the card and found out there was no money on the card. I still had the receipt and when I compared the number on my receipt to the number on the back of the gift card the girl at the till gave me, the numbers didn't match. The girl at the till scammed me! When I went to toys r us to discuss the issue with the manager, I was told there was nothing they could do as it was " like I lost $ on the ground". I couldn't believe this! This is theft. I called toys r us Canada and they said the money on the card I supposedly purchased and have the receipt for was spent already. Beware of purchasing any gift cards from this store, as someone is committing theft there. Unfortunately I'm probably not the only person this happened to and others are going to have this issue as well and some kids will not be getting their christmas presents!
