I love Heads, Shoulders, Knees & Toes. I've been bringing both my kids here since they were tiny, as it was the ONLY store I could find that would actually fit my kids' feet, and take the time to make sure they had growing room. They typically get my kids to try on at least 3 pairs of shoes/ sandals/ boots, watch them as they walk in them, and then tell me whether they think they're a good fit or not. I'm sad that my oldest is growing out of their sizes. As for price, yes, it's more expensive ... but you also have staff who actually know what they're doing, instead of just picking something off a rack yourself at Walmart. I would prefer to spend the extra, and know that someone has actually taken a look at my kids' feet and the support they need. As someone who has had lots of issues with my own feet, including fallen arches, this is vitally important to me. I have never had issues with anyone here being rude to me. Busy, absolutely, but I feel very welcomed here and my kids love coming to the shop. read more

Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toe is a lovely store that sells clothes, shoes and accessories for children and young teens. This place is owned by three sisters, with one of whom I had the pleasure to converse. She explained that she is always on the hunt for the latest children's fashions, and recently came back from New York where she found amazing styles that will hit the shelves of her store in the spring. The lady was lovely and very friendly. As I browsed store's selection, I was impressed with how beautiful most of the clothing items were. Did you know that 7 for All Mankind make jeans for children? They look just as sophisticated as jeans for adults and...well...cost about just as much. Also, I was surprised to see Juicy Couture items for children. They very cute, and, again, rather expensive. There are clothes by many other brands in the store. As I browsed through children's sweaters, jackets, outerwear and dresses (sometimes very fancy once), I kept thinking what it would have been like to have this kind of fashionable items as I was growing up. The shoes section of the store is nice too. There are booties, rain boots, casual and dress shoes for all occasions and at all price points. When I was in the store, there was a buy one pair and get another one half off even going on. The owner couldn't stress enough how important it was to clear out the inventory to make room for new arrivals in the spring. If you ever want to feel your maternal clock jump into high gear, go to this shop. It's filled with the most darling shoes, slippers and booties for kids. The first pair I picked up was a little rubber boot covered in iridescent red and pink hearts. When I looked at the price tag my jaw dropped - $67! For two tiny pieces of rubber the child would grow out of in six months. And yet, it's hard not to go ga-ga over their adorable collection. Names from all over the world like Stride Rite, Vincent, Tsubo, Decibel, Stanz and LIttle Raggio - the shoes from Brazil that Angelina Jolie dresses her kids in, apparently because the company supports womens rights with some of their profits. There are also adorable PJ's, mittens and hats, stuffed animals made of the softest coats, hair barrettes and a variety of baby clothes and accessories. If you want to give your child a taste of designer fashions this is the place to shop, if you can afford it. But buyer beware, you're setting the bar high at a really young age. I would never shop here. After spending some time there with my mom and daughter, we were thinking of buying a few toys for me daughter, the owner came to speak to me and not only did she put down another business, she also spoke to me in away that was belittling and snobby that I I decided not to give her a penny. I went to leave and felt she should know that she had lost business based on her interactions (I would want to know as a business owner) I went to the front to ask the girl if that was the owner, I then said you might want to let her know...and before I could finish the lady cut me off and told me to leave the store because that was her sister and she didn't want to hear it. .. I couldn't believe they wouldn't want feed back. Luckily the owner herself did come out and I had a chance to tell her how I felt. But if I'm not welcome back that's fine with me. Update after writing this review I found out that the owner had lied to me. She tried to tell me the competition had a bunch of recalls about their product and there was a huge write up in the news paper, but there was no evidence of this article anywhere on the internet or the completions website. read more

This is a gem of a store for all things children! You can count on getting the cutest hat you may ever see for a child's head, adorable children's socks, good quality pair of shoes for the little ones toes & a cutest jackets for their shoulders. This store is not only good quality but the staff & owners make you feel welcome & are extremely knowledgable about the products the sell and design/concepts of the products. You can feel the love from the staff that work here & the products they have chosen for the store. It is a little pricier but the owners are a team of sisters. One of the sisters also owns Bosom Babies down the street. So the amount of knowledge & information they have about foot development in children is remarkable. read more

This is not a comment on the quality of items available in the store, but rather to mention that the woman who runs the store was incredibly rude to my friend and I when we parked to visit another store in the building. She made a point of coming out and asking us where we were going, then, when she heard that we were early for our appointment with the other business, told us that she would be calling the parking authority. I will never shop in her store simply because of how unreasonable she was. I can understand wanting to ensure that the parking is reserved for patrons of the building, however, she should have dropped the inquiry when she found out that we were indeed patrons. Low rated due to the false store front advertising on the sign. I stopped in because it specifically said "baby" and children's fashions on the outside of the shop. They pretty much have nothing for babies and their store is not baby friendly. When I asked an employee if they had any baby clothes, she pointed me to a single t-shirt on their racks. The second obvious indication that it wasn't at all baby friendly was the lack of a change table. Even toddlers need to be changed while out shopping - this is really something they should consider for their clientele. This store is full of great clothing, accessories etc. It also is the beholder of complete unprofessionalism and rude behavior. I went into the store, had a few questions and within seconds was the receiver of dirty looks, demeaning and rude comments, and a raised voice; which then had the attention of other customers in the store brought to me. it was made very clear that because i was at the front without anything in hand, and hadn't been in before, she would do nothing for me. These ladies know how to find the perfect fit for my kiddos shoes for the school year. Big enough they fit the whole year and small enough that they are not sloppy. Unfortunately, many times the shoes are overpriced (like more than you can find on the brands own website) and they do not give full refunds. Store credit or exchange only . During the summer they have a great sidewalk sale where they sell shoes for $20. Sizes are limited but you can find a great deal if you can get there before most of the sizes are gone. Sale usually starts in mid-July. Just know your online pricing before you enter the store and remember you don't have to buy anything just to try sizing. Most other clothing is boutique and a lot of $$$$. But super cute if you have the money. My kids constantly find things I have to say NO that's more than what it costs to fill my van for the month.... Stick to the front of the store where the shoes are and you should be fine. The sales associates Ignored us, one of the Owners Complained about my child, the she Flat out Refused to help us after asking if I was going to buy anything & then she Verbally Slapped me in the face!!! I would give this store 0 stars for customer service if it was an option! Yes they are helpful when your at the store, and yes they have good selection. Apparently once they get your money thats where the service ends! Last year we purchased our son some gloves, they sold us on them because the gloves came with a five year warranty. After one season of use the stitching has come apart on one of the gloves. so i called the store and they directed me to Kombi. Kombi website quotes, "The store will evaluate wether the product is covered by our Care Promise, and if so, replace it with the same or an equivalent KOMBI product as quickly as possible". Well i called the store back and was reading this to the lady who answered and she cut me off and told me she didn't have time for this, than hung up on me! Not impressed! So if you want to spend your money at a store that won't stand behind their products and the warranty they use to sell it, thats your choice. My wife and i will be spending our money somewhere else!! This store sells high quality children's merchandise, that I won't dispute. The quality of customer service is an important factor when owning a business, I work right accross the alley form Head Shoulders Knees and Toes, and as a mother of a 2 year old I've spend many lunch breaks shopping for cute clothes for my little boy. As a frequent customer I was shocked to hear that a co-worker ( new to the area) was disciplined heavily by this store's management whe she accidentaly parked in one of their employee parking stalls. She went to move her car and noticed that she was boxed in by another vehicle on purpose with a note placed on her vehicle notifying her that the parking stall was private. She preceeded to go inside the store and ask if the vehicle that was boxing her in can be moved. In return she was publicly scrutinized and threatened with police intervention for parking in that spot. I understand how frustrating it can be for shop owner to have to deal with these type of situations, however the response my co-worker received was totally inappropriate and humiliating for a person ( who appologized profusely) and is new to the area. A polite response to my co-worker could have been more courteous. As a result of this mistreatment, I and my co-workers will no longer be patrons of this store. The clothes are absolutely gorgeous and the selection is best in Edmonton. However, I do find that the owners are far too pushy. They do not leave you alone and, before you know it, they have a pile of clothes in front of you. They do not understand the difference between offering assistance and being aggressive. Nor do they back off even when you say you just want to browse. If you are going to shop there, you are best going on a Saturday when they are busy so you have a chance of shopping shopping in peace. I recently dropped by HSK&T to invest in some good summer shoes & sandals. I grabbed 2 pairs. The next day I came back w my daughter to have them check if they fit her properly. They were too small. There were slim pickings in what would fit. We found a great pair of runners and the only sandals that fit her properly weren't a choice color. The owner along with the two other employees that helped us explained to me that it was more important to grab the only perfect fitting pair rather than comprimise her foot development. I reluctantly purchased the sandal along w the runners. The staff took the sandals off my child and placed them in their box .At the til I asked Lori (staff) if the shoes were returnable: she said 15 days for reg priced items. I exchanged the shoes from the previous day and paid an extra $100.00 for the two new pairs that fit. Unhappy about the color of the sandals I left them in their box and bag in my vehicle. I proceeded to search for a neutral pair else where and had success. I stopped by HSK&T today the 11th to grab a refund for the undesirable sandals. To my shock I was told I could only exchange or store credit. I explained that I was not told that 3 days on the 8th when I had asked Lori about it as I paid. This staff member grabbed the owner. I explained the misunderstanding. She told me it was printed on reciept : I explained that I stuffed the reciept in my purse and never looked since I had already asked Lori. The owner ( w over dramatic eyelashes) said that she supports her staff and that they would never make a mistake. She continued on as she opened the box of the sandals. She then pointed out imperfections in the leather implying we had worn them. I told her they hadn't even been opened since she put them back in the box 3 days prior. She argued and said that I would've noticed that. I told her I never even touched the shoe because the staff their do the fitting and bowed em up. She kept saying happy mothers day and that she didn't want to argue. I told her that I was being honest and I didn't not want a credit but that I needed the money back on my visa. This owner blew my mind as she continued to talk down to me. She starting looking at my cient history with HSK&T: she mention the exchange of the two shoes from my last visit as if it was a problem. I explained again that she was the one that said they were to small to begin with . She finally said tgat she remembered me. She started explaining customer service. I explain I have been in customer service myself for the last 18 yrs and own my own business. She rolled her eyes again and smirked. She implied that she wasnt going to condone so many returns and told me to leave her store. WTF! They told me to exchange the shoes the prior visit for my childs sake. She held my reciept and grabbed my cell phone from the desk. I asked her what exactly was she doing w my reciept and to let go of my cellphone. She started fussing about the counter w dirty drink cups. I told her they were probably her perfect staffs . She snarked that they must be clients in discust. I stated how sad it was to value her clientele less then her staff to this thieving degree. She told me to get out of her store again. In total shock and amazement I said I was not taking the shoes and to give me my credit. She mocked saying :oh you want it now. I told her that I would be selling the gift certificate and not to worry I don't take kindly to being forced to shop somewhere. I also explained that my personal clientelle are always looking for good refferals and that I would no longer be endorseing HSK&T or her sisters store Bossom Babies. She rang up my credit and handed the boxed shoes to a staff member to restock. At this point I told her that it was appalling to me that an owner of a so-called high end store would be so greedy. I asked her how was she perfectly fine w keeping my $110 as well as reselling them again for $110 even though minutes before she was showing me defects. Greedy to the max. Not to mention sneaky and lieing WOW! I told her they should be going on the discount table should they not ? Were they only damaged in the senerio that I wanted to return them ? But good enough for full price resale? No wonder they conned me into buying them and so quickly boxed them in the first place. Holy are they good at scamming! I feel stupid for believing their rants about the well being of my childs foot developement : now i know it was a matter of getting rid of the damn things. She told me that I was embarrassing myself. I was not embarassed.I told her she was embarassed that I was calling her out on her ridiculous choices and descions as an owner. She looked around lifting her arms for support to no avail. It's too bad that this store is only high end in brand but that the owner does not have an ounce of class. Poor Edmonton fooled again by greedy sisters! I love the unique items they sell. Not crazy about the prices but thats never stopped me from buying something for my kids if I really like it. I was however very turned off by the judgemental attitude of the employees. It felt like if you didnt conform to their advice and views of parenting, you are obviously a bad parent. It felt like she was giving me heck because I buy my kids shoes from walmart with a solid sole and OMG I'm going to be deforming their feet. Give me a break, seriously. I have been here a couple of times as it is one of the only stores in Edmonton to buy good quality and unique shoes. I love the wide selection but I have been very irritated by the staff more then once. I called the store not too long ago. I was looking to purchase a pair of stonz booties for my 1 year old. I just needed something would protect his feet from getting wet while crawling around in the snow. I found these great booties with draw strings on the internet and saw that Heads and shoulder sold them, so I called them to see if they had any in stock . I talked to (what was clearly) one of the owners and just wanted to see if they had the right size in the store. She kept me on the phone for over 20 minutes talking to me in a very condescending voice telling me that I need to purchase something with more support and she also argued with me to what seemed to be no end about my childs shoe size. She would not let me get a word in. I was very confused on to what she was trying to tell me and why she was so abrasive and rude. I finally had to cut her off and then hang up the phone. I then went back online saw that they sold what I wanted at e children. I called them, they were helpful and put a pair on hold for me no problem. That phone conversation was about 30 seconds and I got exactly what I wanted. I will not be dealing with this store again, And I suggest to every other mother they try to find alternative ways to find what they are looking for too. read more

I went in to this store with the intention of buying 3 pairs of shoes. I ended up choosing 5 but changed my mind on 2. They went to refund my money on the 2 I changed my mind on because I hadn't been informed that it was exchange only and I wanted to check with my husband first. at this point, things went to hell. The owner ended up accusing me of being a liar, insulting her character, etc. I did NOT insult her character but rather questioned why I couldn't write down what a pair of shoes were so I could show my husband before making the long drive back to the store. I ended up leaving with zero shoes. I have never had my OWN character insulted in such a manner in front of other people, and in front of my children. Both the children as well as myself were upset and shaken by the situation. I will never shop at this store again. They may have the best selection, but they certainly don't have the right to demean my choices. (And for the record, I was certainly not planning to go be "one of those women" as the owner insinuated who makes them spend time with them and then goes to buy the shoes online instead. I would not encourage people to shop at this store. While they have a great selection of children's shoes and clothing, customer service is very bad. The owner seems more concerned about image and profit than providing a service to customers. I purchased a pair of Jupa snowpants, which the owner sold to me on the merits of getting 2 seasons out of them. They lasted less than 4 months!! When I returned to the store (where I shopped for 4 years) to inquire about what could be done, the owner was extremely rude and hostile & told me to sew the snowpants myself. She also said she believed that 3.5 months was a reasonable amount of time for a pair of snowpants to last a 5-year-old child. She also said she wasn't willing "to take a loss" by exchanging the faulty snow pants and then refused to give me her name or the contact information for f the Jupa distributor. I am always eager to support local businesses and don't mind paying a little more to support community members, however in this case, I would rather go across the street to MEC which has an AMAZING return policy, or shop online for better prices! read more
