Amazing golf course, gorgeous grounds! Highly recommend this course. Can't wait to come back for their brunch!

Every golfer dreams of playing TPC Sawgrass. Each March (that still feels weird) we watch The Players, we see the drama, and we marvel at the best golfers in the world. When it comes to public golf resorts in the US, there are only a handful that I think truly fall into the category of "bucket list" territory. * Pebble Beach * Whistling Straits * Bandon Dunes * Pinehurst #2 * TPC Sawgrass Obviously, there are dozens of other fantastic public golf courses out there - but for me, these 5 fall to the top of the list.

Wow! It was a once in a lifetime opportunity and we got to play The Stadium! The course is absolutely beautiful. The greens are fast and hard to judge. A very challenging course. When you make a great shot, you can hear the crowd roar. The employees were all so nice - pro shop, starter, maintenance staff. The bad - cart path only and play was slow but we were playing Sawgrass! It was a Great Day to have a Great Day!

I loved our experiences at TPC Sawgrass and I didn't even play here. If I do play here, I'll leave an updated review. My wife and I were in town for a wedding. I did a poor job planning and foolishly tried to book a last-minute tee time here. Well, maybe not that foolish. People do regularly walk-on same-day at courses like Pebble Beach and the Old Course at St. Andrews. I tried to do the same with The Players Stadium Course and had no luck. Due to wedding-related activities, I was only available to play Friday and Saturday morning tee times if I wanted to finish 18 holes. Earlier in the week, I looked online at available tee times and the only opening was for a 4 o'clock hour single on Friday for $720. On Thursday evening, I went in-person to the golf shop to see if they could get me on somehow, but again, no luck. There hadn't been any cancellations or anything like that. In November 2022, Golf Magazine writer Dylan Dethier tweeted a screenshot of an $840 tee time: https://twitter.com/dylan_dethier/status/1589770644442746885. He said "the greens fee situation at TPC Sawgrass is out of control." He also commented, "they've got some dynamic pricing going on," which I believe to be the case too. The prices include greens fee, cart fee, group forecaddie, and range balls. TPC Sawgrass' prices are the most expensive I've seen. They eclipse Pebble which, at the time of writing this review, charges a $625 non-resort guest greens fee + $50 per person cart fee = $675. I got a few TPC Sawgrass logo items from the golf shop: an Ahead hat ($36), a lululemon Sojourn jacket ($138), and a Peter Millar golf shirt ($99). This is the first golf shop I've seen that carries course-branded lululemon apparel. Jenny and Christie helped us out in the golf shop. Jenny told me that they don't get much lululemon stuff, but what they do get is quite nice. The golf shop was big and well-stocked. They had a great variety of apparel, from traditional to trendy. There were some fun pattern golf shirts I wanted that unfortunately were unavailable in my size (small). TPC Sawgrass is open to the public. You don't need a tee time, restaurant reservation, or any other sort of booking/event to enter the premises. Just let the guard at the gate know you're headed to the clubhouse. We checked out the clubhouse and grounds on a Thursday late afternoon/early evening when the clubhouse's restaurant, Nineteen, had their happy hour going on. They had live music on the lawn and half-off wine and cocktails. It was a fun atmosphere. We walked towards the 18th green, in front of the presentation lawn. A course attendant spotted us, turned his cart around, and approached us. He then asked if we'd like some pictures. How nice. He even let us step on the lawn for photos. His name was William, if I recall correctly. He was older, maybe had on an earpiece, and he looked like he was a starter or marshal. Anyway, he was very welcoming and got some great shots. My wife and I returned the next day to have lunch with our friends on the veranda. It was awesome. You can read more about our experience at the restaurant by going to Nineteen's Yelp page, linked at the bottom of this review. Shout-out to Rolland, Abby, and Maddy. They were fantastic. As soon as you make that turn onto Championship Way, you know you're some place special. The landscaping, grass, etc. is just on another level. As I wrote in my review for the clubhouse (also linked below), I think the only place that I've been to that is on the same level overall is Augusta National. Pinehurst and East Lake come close, but in terms of attention to detail and just how perfect and immaculate everything was, on and off-course, TPC Sawgrass was it. I'm reminded of this tweet from the PGA Tour, showing off the maintenance crew's precision: https://twitter.com/PGATOUR/status/1370447802208239618. The clubhouse is beautiful. TPC Sawgrass offers free tours seven days a week, 9am-4pm. Tours start in the Grand Foyer (main lobby). We did a tour of both the clubhouse and part of the back nine, including the famous finishing holes. We took pictures at the signature 17th hole (island green) and even rode and walked right up to groups playing. Our Storyteller (guide) was Robb Mitchell, a fellow Georgia Tech alumnus. The current clubhouse was designed by a Georgia Tech architect. It opened in time for the 2007 Players Championship. I had an absolute blast exploring the clubhouse, which serves as a sort of mini museum. The facilities at TPC Sawgrass are stunning! Everything is well groomed and beautiful. We went for the players and I definitely recommend! The only downside was that we were there during a tornado warning and none of the buildings were fit to have anyone in them during this so everyone had to leave or stand outside in the rain which seemed silly that they weren't prepared considering their location.

This is a beautiful golf course where the Players Championahip golf tournament is played. The clubhouse is also beautiful. It has a restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Service is great.

A must visit golf resort. Stayed at Marriott and played TPC Stadium course for first time. Nineteen restaurant bar is a perfect place to unwind and dine after the round. Patio and Indoor seating with bar area as well. Delicious menu items and the pretzel & cheese is a must have! Staff was friendly and courteous.

This is an amazing place! I'm not even a golfer and I was very impressed. We came to eat at Nineteen, see separate review for this experience. I was so impressed with all of the history and information that could be found just hanging on the wall. I happened to walk by on my way to the ladies room and it was fun seeing how the course was designed basically on a napkin and scrap of paper. Then to see a golf club displayed from each of the winners of the Players tournament course starting with Jack Nicklaus in 1975. Amazing! Then the Bart Forbes paintings! Oh my goodness- they are absolutely beautiful! So bright and colorful and fun!! The lobby was beautifully decorated for the Christmas holiday. We took a stroll through the golf pro shop, which had lots of clothing items as would be expected. The staff we came in contact with was very friendly. It's a very beautiful golf course and clubhouse!

Absolutely fantastic golfing experience. For many serious golfers, playing TPC Sawgrass Stadium Course, is more than likely on there bucket list. So to be sure, that certainly was the case for me. And now after experiencing the perfectly manicured property I can honestly say it was well worth the wait!! The staff was very friendly, everyone seemed very willing to provide any assistance often times unsolicited. The condition of the course was impeccable, the tee boxes, fairways and the smoothest putting greens that anyone could ask for. There's so much golfing history in the massive clubhouse, please allow time if you can to look around at the history hanging on the walls. To some the price is a barrier, but if you have the opportunity, PLEASE give it a shot, you won't be disappointed!!!

Beautiful course, professional courteous staff! The clubhouse is immaculate and has tons of memorabilia, the pro shop is fully stocked. Great day at the golf course!

First, the good: Beautiful property, lovely decorations. Everyone was very dressed up for the Christmas Eve buffet! My mother and I were eagerly anticipating the evening and were so excited to try the seven fishes! However, given such a beautiful location in a well known spot, the buffet, which could've been extraordinary, turned out to be on a level a notch below the Golden Corrall. The staff did their best, everyone was so friendly and nice, but they didn't have a whole lot to work with. Please indulge in the attached photos - those martinis were supposed to be extra dry but somehow they got more yellow as the night progressed. The lobster (poor things died for this) were totally rubbery and borderline inedible. There was a strange fish stew reminiscent of clam water with a touch of beef stock. The "raw bar" shrimp were edible and the mignonette was good. However, the oysters were presented very sloppily and some had no actual "oyster" in the shell. The desserts were low effort. Overall, we had a fun night but it was because we were cracking up at these things considering the high cost and fees we paid for the buffet.

Everything is spectacular and next level! From the club house to the pristine driving range and course. 10/10 on everything. I've played a lot of private courses and nothing can even come close to this. Service is immaculate and the attention to detail is superior. The Valley course was surprisingly hard (fast greens rolling around 12), and the Stadium course was even more gorgeous than I had anticipated. Walk the Stadium course with a caddie if you can- you'll get phenomenal local knowledge/insight on how to navigate the course!

So yeah, I'm the one girl that's lived in Jacksonville her entire life but hasn't been to TPC... until now!! We were blessed to receive tickets to one of the practice rounds and enjoyed an absolutely beautiful day checking out the pros and walking all around the course. The course and grounds are impeccable. Not a single blade of grass out of place, it seems! Everything was adequately distanced (COVID) and I felt comfortable the entire time. The only reason for 4 stars vs 5 is the food. It was neat to see some local restaurants and bars represented, but honestly the best food I had all day was a hot dog from the general refreshment stand. The other food was overpriced and pre-prepared so not necessarily always fresh. Service everywhere was phenomenal, though. I could easily see this becoming a tradition for our family in the years to come. We had a blast!

Below are the separate Yelp listings for different things at TPC Sawgrass (at least, ones that I found at the time of writing this review): * TPC Sawgrass (golf course, overall property): https://www.yelp.com/biz/tpc-sawgrass-ponte-vedra-beach * The Players Championship (annual flagship PGA Tour event): https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-players-championship-ponte-vedra-beach-3 * Nineteen at TPC Sawgrass (clubhouse restaurant): https://www.yelp.com/biz/nineteen-at-tpc-sawgrass-ponte-vedra-beach * The Sawgrass Spa (on-site spa): https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-sawgrass-spa-ponte-vedra-beach I love golf, golf history, and golf clubhouses. The clubhouse at TPC Sawgrass is an example of one of the best clubhouses in the world. It's absolutely beautiful, inside and out, and it serves as a sort of mini museum for the golf course and The Players Championship. Compared to most other clubhouses, it's palatial and a step above. Why shouldn't it be? TPC Sawgrass is home to the PGA Tour and its flagship event. It's only fitting the Tour and the The Players have such a majestic home. Technically, the Tour's headquarters ("PGA Tour Global Home") are located on a different part of the property, southeast of the clubhouse and courses. It's not far from the 16th green and 17th tee of The Players Stadium Course at 1 PGA Tour Blvd. There's lots to love about the TPC Sawgrass Clubhouse. First, it's open to the public, 7am-9pm daily. Second, they have volunteer "Storytellers" who give free tours. The tours not only cover the clubhouse, but the grounds outside and the Stadium Course too. Yep, they'll take you out onto the course in a cart as part of the tour (at least, that's how it was for us). So, anyone can drive onto the property, park, and get a guided tour at no cost. How cool is that? Tours start in the Grand Foyer (main lobby) which is the room just inside the main entrance. According to a sign between the Grand Foyer and the Golf Shop, tours begin on the hour, 9am-4pm daily. For us, our tour start and end times were flexible, maybe because it was a slow day. Our Storyteller was Robb Mitchell. It didn't take long after meeting Robb that we, coincidentally, graduated from the same school: Georgia Tech. He's at least one generation ahead of me. There were four in our tour group, my wife and two of our friends. My wife and another in our group went to Emory. Robb joked that he had dated some Emory girls in his time. As a proud Tech alumnus, I have to point out that, according to Robb, the TPC Sawgrass Clubhouse was designed by two Georgia Tech architects. I have some architecture and industrial design friends from Tech. They used to spend countless hours in the studio. They called their major "architorture." The current clubhouse at TPC Sawgrass opened in 2007. It was designed by the firm Chapman Coyle Chapman of Atlanta. One of the Georgia Tech architects Robb mentioned as designing this place was Michael Shue. Shue is a partner at Chapman Coyle Chapman and works exclusively on golf and country club projects. According to a press release by the construction company that built the clubhouse, Clark Construction, the current clubhouse took 11 months to build. The old clubhouse was demolished right after the 2006 Players Championship and the new clubhouse was ready in time for the 2007 Players Championship. Per David Pillsbury, former President of the TPCs and PGA Tour Executive Vice President and current CEO of Invited (formerly ClubCorp): "Under a normal construction schedule, a clubhouse of this size would have required between 18 to 24 months to complete. However, it was finished 10 months after the demolition of the old clubhouse." When I first saw the clubhouse on TV and social media during The Players Championship (I distinctly remember the clubhouse being shown off through crowd-sourced videos during one championship weekend; this was when Instagram Stories had just become a thing and @pgatour featured the video on their story), I remember thinking of how grand and impressive it looked. The clubhouse really stands out and is unique. Robb quizzed us on the architecture style. One of us got it right (not me): Mediterranean Revival. Seeing the clubhouse in person, it met my expectations as far as what I'd seen on TV and online. As far as the grounds went, they were on par (no pun intended) with all of the other bucket-list courses I've visited including Augusta National, St Andrews, Pebble Beach, Kapalua, Pinehurst, and East Lake. In terms of landscaping and attention to detail, TPC Sawgrass and Augusta are top two from what I've seen. Every square foot of grass at these two places, on and off the course, were consistently immaculate and on another level. For more of my thoughts on TPC Sawgrass, see my reviews at the Yelp listings linked above (except for the spa - I haven't been there).

This hotel is located just outside one of the gates to TPC Sawgrass, home of the PGA Tour's flagship event, The Players Championship. We were in town for a wedding at the nearby Lodge & Club on Ponte Vedra Beach. Shuttles escorted guests to and from the wedding venue. One of the shuttles was a Hilton Garden Inn van. Funny story: On the way to the wedding, my seat belt buckle got jammed. I was sitting closest to the van's sliding door, so there were two rows of people who couldn't get out until I could. After several people tried to help me, including the porters/valet guys at The Lodge & Club, someone suggested I just slide out from underneath the belts. It worked. This story was later brought up a few times at the wedding cocktail hour and reception. I hope the Hilton Garden Inn fixed that buckle by now. We stayed for three nights. Our check-in time was 3pm on a Thursday and our check-out time was 12pm the following Sunday. I liked the later check-out time. The total price for our stay after taxes was $858.54. The actual rate per night varied. The average rate per night worked out to $286.18. My wife did the booking and we got an "Honors Discount." I'm not sure how much of a discount it was. We stayed in Room 304 which was a one-bedroom with a king bed. It was described as a "balcony suite." It was nice. Our balcony had a beautiful view. The room was modern and clean. It was like a little apartment with a separate bedroom and living room/office. We visited our friends in a couple different rooms on the same floor and they didn't have the separate rooms like we did. One couple got a room with its own gym, which we all thought was a little bizarre, but also funny/neat at the same time. We also had friends staying next door in the connecting suite and they didn't have the same layout as us either. I enjoyed having a big-screen TV in each room. The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable enough for me to get some work done, but not much more than that. We had a small fridge and microwave which were good for storing and heating up leftovers. Overall, I liked the contemporary design aesthetics of the room (and the hotel overall), our comfy bed, and the solid air conditioning system. I spent a lot of time in the room and felt very comfortable. A few things we didn't like/things I think can be improved upon are: (1) The shower didn't have enough shelf space. (2) The closet was located outside of the bedroom, in view of the living room. Therefore, it wasn't ideal when we had guests over and someone had to change. (3) The coffee inside the room (Keurig) didn't taste great. Each morning, I went down to the lobby to get coffee instead. Much better. (4) There wasn't an ice maker on our floor (third floor). We had to go to a different floor to get ice. That and the ice maker machines weren't the best (sensors seemed bad). Not a big deal, but thought I'd mention it anyway. Service was great, from the front desk staff to the housekeeping crew. All staff we interacted with were polite, friendly, and welcoming. If you're staying here or nearby, here are a handful of suggestions I have: * Visit TPC Sawgrass (https://www.yelp.com/biz/tpc-sawgrass-ponte-vedra-beach) - the clubhouse, restaurant (Nineteen at TPC Sawgrass), and golf courses are open to the public. They do free tours daily, 9am-4pm, beginning in the main lobby. Eat at the restaurant. Check out the golf shop. * Coffee, pastries, and ice cream at Foxtail Coffee (https://www.yelp.com/biz/foxtail-coffee-ponte-vedra-beach) - located in the adjacent shopping center, Sawgrass Village. * Lunch/dinner at Aqua Grill (https://www.yelp.com/biz/aqua-grill-ponte-vedra-beach-5) - great seafood, steak, and more. Also located in the adjacent shopping center. Nicer atmosphere. They also have a popular bar. * Lunch/dinner at Palm Valley Fish Camp (https://www.yelp.com/biz/palm-valley-fish-camp-ponte-vedra-beach) - a good casual seafood restaurant nearby.
