I started seeing her with my ex-husband and my kids and in therapy. You're supposed to feel safe and secure and I was crying and was telling my daughter how I felt and she immediately snapped at me. Talk to me like I was a child disregarded. My emotions told me that I was Never supposed to show emotion towards my daughter and put that on her which in my opinion and I've always been taught in therapy that being honest and showing emotion is a good thing. She made me cry all the way home and after I got done talking to my therapist and multiple people about what she did, they agreed that there was nothing wrong with me, showing emotion. And the fact that my daughter was not comfortable, she was not her outgoing self. She was quiet and meek that is quite opposite of my daughter's personality. I even reported that one of my daughters had a full-blown eating disorder and she did nothing about it I was reporting abuse going on after their father's house and she did nothing about it. When I first met Jess, I was a husband carrying deep and unresolved childhood trauma. I had lived…read moremy entire life with profound abandonment wounds, mother and father wounds, and patterns rooted in abuse and neglect. At that time, my marriage was in serious trouble. Despite years of traditional therapy and self-help work, I was still stuck in the same emotional cycles and reactive behaviors that were damaging both myself and my relationship. This is where working with Jess fundamentally changed my life. (I assure you it's no exaggeration) Through her coaching, I learned how to self-soothe and regulate my nervous system, something I had never been taught or modeled. I learned self-parenting-how to meet my own emotional needs with consistency, compassion, and accountability instead of looking for my partner to fill those gaps. These skills alone created a level of internal stability I had never experienced before. Jess also helped me dramatically improve my communication, especially during difficult conversations and conflicts with my partner. I learned how to engage hard discussion instead of avoiding them or escalating into arguments. I gained the ability to bring up sensitive topics in a way that promotes understanding rather than defensiveness, and learned how to reframe situations neutrally instead of spiraling into blame, resentment, or emotional shutdown. A major part of this work involved facing my childhood trauma directly. Jess introduced proven communication and reflection frameworks - such as the 5 Questions and Resentment Questions - that completely changed how I assess challenging situations. These tools taught me how to slow down, take responsibility, and do the deep inner work required for lasting change rather than repeating the same toxic patterns. Through this process, I learned how to participate in a deeper level of emotional connection and intimacy with my partner. I stopped viewing my relationship through a transactional lens and let go of score-keeping unspoken expectations, and conditional behaviors. Instead, I learned how to set both of us up for success by developing healthier expectations for myself, my partner, and our relationship as a whole. For those who may be skeptical - I was a well when I first met Jess - I can confidently say that her (sometimes unconventional) methods are extremely effective at breaking the harmful and deeply ingrained patterns that govern many of our lives and relationships. Most people who seek this kind of help are searching for a drastic change for the better. I had tried numerous traditional therapy and self-help programs, and none came close to what Jess offers. They simply did not go deep enough, nor were they equipped to provide the level of insight and guidance required for true transformation.
