You get a True Cord (upon request) and they are honest and upfront that their "baskets" are measured for the smaller "Short Cord". I wanted to pay for and receive a full cord - and I did. If you don't know, a "cord" has a specific definition - that some outfits will argue with you about - or try to stack the wood really loosely. I've attached a pic of what they delivered. Its an honest "cord" upon request. It's high quality Oak, not the sometimes waterlogged and mud-soaked splintered shattered odds and ends you get from other places. I just cannot recommend them more highly.

I have visited this particular Ace 3 times within a week (including calling them once) and have been met with the nicest, most helpful individuals. At Home Depot and Lowe's, I can NEVER FIND anyone to help me. In addition to their super friendly employees, Ace has items IN STOCK that Home Depot and Lowe's never do. Literally, ANYTHING I want is out of stock OR not even carried at the Pearland HD. The one small issue I had recently was that I was recommended a product by an employee that ended up NOT being the right product for my project. I ended up calling the particular product helpline and they issued me a full refund on the wrong product and told me what I needed. Coincidentally, ACE carried the right product I needed since HD was, big surprise, OUT OF STOCK. %#+* As for prices, I don't know how all things are across the board but for my particular needs recently, they seemed somewhat to be comparable to the big box stores. BUT- for one particular item, I checked on Amazon and Ace (since Home Depot didn't carry it... WTF). The item was $2 more at Ace. (See included picture). So, despite a possible price increase on certain items, I'll still shop here over HD. Friendly staff, in stock products. Thumbs up. Please build an ACE store in Shadow Creek. I don't like driving across town to come here.

I have purchased dirt from Wayne's over the years. The first purchase was a full truckload of…read moreregular dirt a few years ago. When it arrived it was filled with large clay deposits approximately 5-10 inches in size. I had to spend days chopping up the clay. I had hoped that was an anomaly, much to my chagrin. Earlier this year I purchased a full truckload of their "garden mix" soil which was touted by the owner as great garden soil different types of compost. I was very excited about it. I spent a year assembling nine raised beds for a high production organic garden. The dirt was nothing but mulch and sticks. I thought I might be incorrect so I had the "dirt" (or should I say, sticks) analyzed. It literally had no nutritional value. Now I have to remove 12 yards of cheap mulch and will lose the growing season. I should have read Yelp reviews (i.e. Melanie C from 2013). It appears this has been going on for awhile. Caveat emptor--it is unfortunate.

Attached a picture of what I pulled out of just 2 wheel barrows when spreading the manure mix. Also, it appears as obvious to me it is far over 50% wood shavings, 30% clay crumps - maybe 20% horse manure. Of the $55 I paid for the cubic yard I feel I paid $40 to the trash / waste management service. Estradas is actually a good place, I have been a customer for years. However, either they got cheated themselves on the product (unlikely, since they prepare everything on site) or they are cutting ugly corners. I ended up using my 1 qyrd as fill dirt. Expensive mistake.
