As my mom has accumulated an army of doctors as the years have crept by, we've experienced the inconsiderate, the incompetent, and the entitled. We've had no compunction about trimming away the bad ones and finding good ones; my mom deserves the best. Dr. Abbas is at the top of that list, as far as we're concerned.

Now that they are older and should be able to consult their primary care physician on uncomfortable questions they don't want to ask their parents, we find they can't. We were told to "pick a gynecologist" if we were interested in contraception to control period symptoms. Reproductive care IS healthcare, and PAA is not only abdicating this responsibility but putting a barrier between patients and this care by requiring them to go to a specialist that their parents may not have time or money to visit. It makes patients feel like this part of their health and body is "other" and requires special effort and extra money. It's BS. This is especially surprising given PAA's stance on the HPV vaccine (see another user's review here). It's kind of understandable if they do not have the bandwidth for this, but they need to say so up front and start referring kids away from their practice at puberty. It's hard enough being born female in this world; we should ALL be able to depend on our primary care physicians to look out for ALL areas of our health and provide basic support and care before referral to a specialist. I have previous experience in another state where the doctor was all over this--asked all the hard questions and was clearly looking out for my step-daughter's care, head to toe. The only reason that this review is three stars and not one is that we HAVE gotten great care here, so if you have a boy, go for it. Sharon Menkus is particularly good, and we will miss her. She's so genuinely knowledgeable and supportive that I was really puzzled and disappointed by the wall we got when asking about reproductive care.

They were able to get my daughter in on short notice after she took a hard fall and hit her head (she's a toddler). It was the worst fall she's had and they got her in and x-rayed within an hour! 1 star docked because I have had to wait a couple times in the patient rooms for a long time (15-20 minutes once). Also, I feel like the two doctors I've seen so far at this practice know far, far less about allergies than I do. I have allergies myself; it's a lifelong educational process. My daughter has multiple food allergies. We are seeing a different doctor next week at PAA. The receptionists are totally fine with you asking to see a different doctor, which I like. It's nice that there is a variety of people you can choose for your child's pediatrician.

I am so happy they did because I felt like just a number at the big clinic and this place has more of a personal feel. I'm from a small town and this is more of what I was accustomed to there. Dr Irwin has a great sense of humor and it helps keep the visits light. He spends the needed amount of time with you to understand your concerns and doesn't just shove pills at you and send you on your way. He is rude, condescending, and probably who…read moreshould have his license taken away for malpractice...A patient went to him seeking medical care because she was experiencing symptoms consistent with heart failure and edema--difficulty breathing, swollen feet, fatigue, reduced ability to exercise. Rather than do his job, he falsely and unethically accused that patient of fabricating their symptoms to receive drugs. That patient had no history of drug use, nor history of mental illness, in fact there was nothing to suggest to the doctor that the patient was fabricating their symptoms. He ignored visible evidence that the patient was in fact being truthful. The patient, luckily was persistent and refused to be dissuaded by the DR's medical malpractice. They sought other opinions, was diagnosed with a diaphramatic rupture and paralysis and was able to undergo a successful reattachment and plication in the hands of skilled medical professionals of which Dr. Qazi is not one. Perhaps Dr Qazi was at some point in his life a good cardiologist, but that is no longer the case. His actions indicate someone who is bitter and tired and unconcerned about patient care. For that he will be reported to the KY Board of Medical Licensure.

No more of feeling like you are known, only like you are a number. Weeks before you can get in to see someone, let alone your primary. Pushing doctors that have just graduated and this is their first ever job. I was a patient with this practice for 33 years, this is the only practice my three children have gone to. Because of the poor replacement physicians and corporate practices we are no longer attending this facility. I would not recommend this practice to anyone.
