As a mother and animal rescue my children and others are told do not go close to their mouths. Ziggy did nothing wrong he tried to get out of the situation and got accused of harming a child he would never hurt anyone. The animals and fish r so great I never have any problems, their prices r fabulous, something for everyone. A must see if you are in the area. I bring everyone here from all over the United States when they come to visit. Please don't let someone's lies destroy your chance to see this quiet little shop in a small town in the country side of Ohio. The staff is always so friendly and helpful (in the five plus years I've been going, I've literally never had a bad experience with them!) and will even put your purchase in a gift bag so it's all ready to give as a gift. But today I had to fix a plumbing issue and needed expert help. I took pictures of my plumbing issue on my phone and went to Ace with the hope that I could show the pictures to someone and they could help, not expecting much though. I found the first employee and shared my pictures and issue to her and she sent me to their "resident plumber." Wow! This guy knew exactly what I needed to fix my problem. From the pictures I showed him he diagnosed my problem and showed me the parts I needed to fix it until I can get a plumber to ultimately fix the issue. This guy was an expert. And Ace had what I needed. Then I went over to look at the yard items and found a small bird feeder. A staff member saw me looking at the feeder and voluntarily told me that most of the feeders and related items were located at another location in the store and pointed me in the direction. She didn't have to do that but I'm glad she did because I would have not known about the location.

I called this morning to verify his vet records had been received as requested my vet to, so I could email them myself if they hadn't. Upon speaking with staff, I was notified that they would not be boarding my dog because he had not completed a "Temperament Test" and because he was not neutered. The temperament test was NEVER disclosed to me during my phone call to book, nor was it reminded or mentioned when I received a text to confirm his booking over a week ago. Had I been notified at any point within the last two months i would have made other arrangements as my pet is also NOT NEUTERED. So here I am, the day before I leave for a 9 day 1,600 mile, $4K vacation and being told GOOD LUCK BY HATTIES! Thankfully a family member can help us out and ill be saving nearly $500 but that isn't NEARLY the point. The point is you had MANY opportunities to remind YOUR CLIENT of your requirements. NO notice of temp test or neuter mandate during our phone call, NO reminders when I got the confirmation text, NO email reminders. (Which is funny considering i get 5 emails a month directly from "Hattie Larlham"). I understand and would have gladly complied with a temperament test had I known one needed to be performed. I also would have said NO THANK YOU TWO MONTHS AGO WHEN I CALLED if the lady scheduling my booking even bothered to ask if my 2 year old male King Charles Cavalier was neutered. Disappointed, frustrated and panicked is quite the understatement.

She has been to obedience school, goes to walking trails, to the store, and is boarded in a home with other dogs and had no issues. She is skittish in a new environment so I think she probably did show aggression initially if she was just thrown in with other dogs. My guess is this is what happened instead of acclimating her to her environment. The woman who called also said initially that my dog was fine with humans but then stated she was concerned for the safety of her staff with my dog there. I will never recommend this place
