They have the MOST gorgeous Easter display of any store, along with a sweet selection of merchandise! I enjoy just walking around this store and seeing what unique items they have for your home. Sure wish the people were friendlier and cared more about helping the customer. Oh well that's kind of the way the world is these days! I bought a good amount of merchandise but something i took home did not work and had to return it. This return didn't work in my favor, turns out the customer is not as important as that extra dollar even if you are the one inconvenienced. One half of the store are hardware items where carry items not found at the big box stores like the Big Green Egg. The other half is home essentials and changed out for all the seasons. Went to store, order was in computer, but my order not ready. Multiple units of same tool in stock. Cashiers stood around dumbfounded as to what to do. Also wanted a trio of canvas tool pouches that were advertised for $18. They would not honor their price. Ended up taking my business elsewhere. It was only $250 but, still. "Ace used to be the place"! Not so much anymore. same lazy, clueless employees every other store has. This Ace has been getting consistently worse over the years imo. I'm a local but don't think I'll be back. Easier to go into San Marcos to shop. Traffic is horrible. The owners Reed and Beverly are real good people. They come from a long line of Wagner's who have owned the store for 80 years. Prices are more than fair and you are meaningfully buying local!

Did Brad have several of the same product, like say, an overstock? Look HD can absolutely return broken box items to the vendors and get credit, once HD doesn't get credit because of destroyed merchandising not the item but the box, they get partial credit and write off the rest. Mr Brad cannot afford to return to vendor for partial credit. Please remember local businesses do not have the 'funds' corporate have. Please be patient.
