After my lawn mower hit one too many large rock, it was fine for a replacement. As anyone does these days, I spent too much time at work researching for a replacement. Don't tell my boss! After mowing lawns for a few decades, I knew the features I wanted, just not the mower. I wanted to buy local so was happy to find their site. I spent a lot of time checking out mowers and making sure they were in inventory. Many said "Brochure", not "In stock". Saturday off we were to go pick up the mower. Unfortunately, I was told the brand that I focused on hasn't been sold in a LONG time and the inventory on line isn't kept up to date. Really?? We are well into the 21st century and they don't keep their inventory? At least tell me to call for stock! Very disappointed to waste that time and bummed that I had to go elsewhere for my needs. And no I certainly wasn't going to reward them with my business with that kind of bait and switch. read more

pretty much a rip off place for repairs.. $90 labor fee..they look to repair whatever in way that fills their coffers...so be warned, if you go there for repairs, better research what you want done..and if you cant do it yourself, be prepared to pay the local service premium.. other choices in Austin , New Braunfels are cheaper and better ( Andys NB and Austin outdoor power) Disappointing.. but is what it is.. read more

Power haus has helped me out a few times when I was in a bind. My pressure washer was stalling and needed a new air filter. They had the right one on hand and held it for me to come pick up. My old pressure washer was sitting by the way side as a back up but would stall every 5 minutes or so. To top it off the pull cord broke. That's when I finally brought it in for a tune up. The price charged was right in the middle of the range they quoted which was still less than expected. Most importantly my pressure washer is running like new. Took my trimmer in to get it fixed. Didn't try it before I left. Got it home and it wouldn't run below full throttle. Took it back and had them try again. Ran okay once and now it's as bad as ever. read more

Friendliest business I've ever seen, especially compared to the surly counterpart in New Braunfels. They go out of their way to listen, will fix things right there if time, etc. WHAT I REALLY LIKED: Sign on the door that said YOU MUST HAVE A MASK INSIDE, ONLY 2 CUSTOMERS AT A TIME IN STORE. These people are taking COVID-19 like the deadly disease that it is and I appreciate what they are doing. I can't see why they would ever get less than 5 stars!!!! read more

Mike the owner doesn't even know how to use is own POS software for part lookups, and can't think outside the box on part workarounds/alternatives. Has a single minded approach to finding things. Suggestion: Might try doing a search for bowl gaskets and get a list to look through. No, he needed a specific part number. Throughout several visits the staff has always been very helpful and friendly. They just moved to their larger location at W San Antonio St so that tells you they're doing something right. Power Haus is an excellent small engine repair shop. They have a great selection of residential and professional lawn equipment. I always take my lawn equipment to them for maintenance. They are respectably priced, do great work and have a quick turn around. Last week, I went in to buy a professional grade chainsaw. Michael Melton was very informative about his chainsaws. He recommended an 45cc Echo saw for my needs. He filled out my warranty information and filled it up with gas as well as chain oil. Later the same day I pushed the saw to hard and broke it. If I would have purchased my saw from a large corporation, it would have been game over. I took the saw back to Michael, he had parts on hand to fix it. I think it took him 10 minutes. Wow! What a great experience I had with these folks. I was after an Echo 2520 Blower. A model not readily available at the orange big box store. IT had to be ordered. Also the big box was selling it for 50 bucks more than MSRP. Power Haus had it in stock (their website told me so) and beat the big box price by far. I was greeted at the door by Michael. Immediately I thought, here comes the sales man. Not true at all. Michael asked me a few basic questions to understand my needs and talked with me about a few questions I had from doing my own research. After our exploratory conversation, Michael led me to the 2520. He knew his product well. We made the sale and Michael filled it up with swanky gas, walked me outside and went over all the controls. He showed me the most efficient way to start the machine and answered my few questions about that. These guys are great. Took my old, "Forrest Gump" style riding lawnmower to them a few. It hadn't ran in over a decade so I was really expecting the cost to be steep to get it back into working condition. He called me a week later and said it was ready for pick-up and my grand total for all the repairs was $105...that's it! Runs like a champ and I saved a ton of money going to these guys.
