Every dealership should be as good as Tracy VW. I have worked with the service department for over a year and every time has been flawless. Christine is great and easy to work with. You can make your appointments online and or call directly and talk to a service advisor. The communication is above and beyond. I just leased my 3rd VW and wish all of them had been with Tracy. The process was so easy. Less than 3 hours total. One phone call to set up a time to go in and meet with Nate in sales. Picked up the vehicle the next day. Chris gave me a full overview of the technology and even got it inspected at 6:00 PM! Everyone I worked with was easy and so down to earth. No BS like I have dealt with at other VW dealerships. I brought my vehicle to Tracy Volkswagen for its annual service, including an oil change. About a month later, a "check oil" warning appeared. I was informed that the drain plug had not been properly sealed, causing an oil leak. After the snow melted from my driveway, I discovered large oil stains on my newly paved surface. This was discovered after my last visit to Tracy VW. There was no apology for the technician's oversight, and I was told the issue "sometimes happens." As a result, I was left dealing with the inconvenience of taking a day off work to address the problem, along with damage to my property. I bring my vehicle to a dealership expecting a level of care that avoids preventable mistakes. During the same visit, I was also told that my rear rotors were severely rusted and had worn down the brake pads--despite the fact that I had driven only about 1,000 miles since the annual service. This had not previously been communicated as urgent, which raised concerns for me about the consistency of their inspections. My primary concern is the damage to my property, along with the lack of accountability and communication surrounding the drain plug issue. The response felt dismissive, and there was no apology offered. For these reasons, I will be taking my business elsewhere and am sharing this experience to inform other customers. They bill for things that don't address your concern and when you bring car back to rectify (because the issue purists) they "find" something new to replace (that you can't prove needed fixing). Tracy VW wanted to charge me $3,100 for a repair that another shop quoted me $1,000 on. All I needed was a new water pump, a $400 part, and they wanted to charge me $3,100 for the job. Tracy lied to my face and told me that my engine was leaking oil and that is what caused the water pump to break. They sent me a very low quality video trying to 'prove' to me that my engine was leaking oil. I examined the engine myself and confirmed with another mechanic that the engine was not leaking oil. The best part is that when I refused to pay Tracy and I picked up my car instead of getting the repairs, I noticed that Tracy had filled my tires to 42 PSI for some reason, when they are only supposed to be filled to 30 PSI. I had to go to a gas station and let air out of my tires. They wanted to charge me $3,100 to rip apart my engine and they don't even know how to fill the tires. You can't make this stuff up LOL. DO NOT WORK WITH TRACY VW. These people are criminals. read more

I have two sets of wheels for my VW. The factory summer wheels and Tirerack winter wheels. I brought in my VW wheels because two were bent. The tires were fine. Uniroyal Tigerpaw. Not the best tire, but still they were new. Tracy claimed I need new tires, but they had only 1385 miles on them. This dealership constantly upsells, and this time they went too far. The tires were brand new. I know better, but there is no way they were being honest. Too many seniors go to this dealer and would be taken advantage of by the service writer. Look at the photos I took at the dealership. The tread and sidewall were perfect. Sales are slow, so service is the sales department. Stop being deceitful, and this is not an "opinion" advice issue. They didn't have my car to upsell so they tried on the wheels. I now don't trust them. read more

Would not recommend for any service outside of warranty. Their prices on parts and labor are outrageous and they will try and sell you on unnecessary and premature service. Have seen them charge over 2x what other shops have quoted. Watch out for things like "while you are here..." or "dealership recommendation is...", these are all ploys to get you to spend unnecessary money. They make commission on repairs! Go with your local, honest, shop who won't try and screw you into expensive repairs or their favorite, convince you to trade-in for a new vehicle instead of repair... read more

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP! We bought a lightly used Mercedes Sprinter Van that they had on their lot. It had just under 15,000 miles on it. We paid over $42,000 for it. There was a major service light on, so they said they would take it up to Mercedes of Hanover to have the service done. They "made an appointment" for August 5th. When we went to pick up the van from them August 11th (mind you, they told us they would do door to door service and we had to drop it off and pick it up), there were quite a few issues that were completely unacceptable. There was some rust on the roof which we asked to have fixed properly. It was not disclosed at time of sale, and was very difficult to see since the van is so tall. We had to get on a ladder to see it. I can't imagine that they didn't know about this issue. It was covered with Bondo by some hack body shop. Since the issue was not fixed correctly, it will just bubble again in a month and become a recurring nightmare. We stressed how important it was that this issue was fixed correctly. We asked if they could bring it to Mercedes where it would actually be fixed correctly; the response was "absolutely not". It is now August 12th and they still have our van, taking it back to the same body shop so they can slap some more Bondo on it. Back to the service issue... the van was never at Mercedes Benz. The service light had been reset, but when we called Mercedes, they had no record of the vehicle being there. The last service date they had was May 15, 2020. There were over 100 miles put on our van between when we dropped it off on Aug 4th (to be serviced Aug 5th), so where did it go in the past week to have this light reset? It smelled like smoke when we got in the vehicle as well. We didn't get any service paperwork with the vehicle so we are not sure where it has been. When trying to work through this issue this morning, we couldn't speak to Nate (the used car manager) as he isn't in until 10am, but we did speak with Jay, the new car sales manager. I will say, my fiancé dealt with him in a very calm manner and expressed that if these issues aren't fixed, we would like to return the vehicle. It is within our rights and we have paperwork to prove this. Jay hung up on him. This entire situation is absolutely unacceptable. It is wildly unprofessional to hang up on a customer when you have their vehicle in your possession. What a headache. Not the experience you want to have when buying a vehicle. read more

I have owned VWs since the late 60s in all shapes and sizes. I bought my current VW Passat at this dealership 6 years ago and I have returned for service at the pre-determined intervals. They are the only game in town which is quite often the deal on the Cape. The staff is not overly friendly and the service comes with a high cost. There is a a lot of checking done on each of the planned service visits and not a lot of actual service. Regular oil changes average around 70 or 80 bucks. I see that other reviewers had similar experiences. The folks in the waiting areas range between the owners who feel abused to the new owners who still have a euphoric new owner glow. My guess is that once the glow is gone, reality will settle in. read more

This is a review of the service department. Love Chris, she is a great gal and always has a positive attitude. Unfortunately the last time my husband called on my behalf, and they never got back to us. I took our 2014 VW Passat to our neighborhood mechanic. What they saw during diagnostics and inspection were some issues that would have left us unsafe and exposed to break down. Firstly, the dealership told me to get oil changes every 10,000 miles. That is a crock. Every mechanic otherwise has said NEVER go over 5,000...so they lost my trust right there. We had an EPC light issue, Roy said it was a fuel pump after two hours of diag. We had only planned on one hour. I was charged for two. long story short, the EPC light was still coming on. Called Tracy, and after a week still hadnt heard back from them. Took it down the street and our neighbor guy used to work for Tracy back in the day. He checked the spark plugs and it was that. They said the spark plugs were 10,000-15,000 miles overdue to be changed. What the Hell?? You didnt think to check the spark plugs Tracy VW? When the EPC light it a known engine or throttle system issue?? Also, We had taken the Passat on a cross country tour several months back and brought in the Volkswagen to Tracy right before, and they said everything looked "fine" Our local mechanic said the crust around the spark plugs proved nobody had checked them in ages. Recently brought our EOS to Tracy Volkswagen because of a coolant leak. Their diagnosis revealed a leaking water pump and a couple of other minor issues. Very nice folks and very nice dealership. Although the only thing missing were the eye patches , peg legs and parrots on their shoulders. These guys are pirates! They wanted $3500 to do the repairs. Outrageous! I took the car to my friend's mechanic and he did the repairs for less than $1000. Please do your research before letting this dealership work on your VW. read more

I'm driving an illegal car despite no mistake on my part while the DMV and lender tell me I have no recourse. I needed a new vehicle after breaking my leg and hip in a car crash one year ago now that I'm able to get back on the road I walked into your dealership and ask for a new beside your salesman asked me how can I afford it and tried to sell me a used car just because I wasn't dressed in a suit and tie doesn't mean I can't afford a brand new vehicle. Tracy VW almost ruined my Volkswagen experience, but I have since learned that VWs are the best cars money can buy and Tracy was the real problem. Many years ago, I purchased my car '07 Rabbit with them and everything appeared fine. I gave them a lot of slack when they acquired the wrong color and the car had a few hundred miles on it (even though it was "new"). A day after I drove it off the lot, one of my engine lights went on and my daytime running lights stopped working. They replaced the lights for free but tried to get me to pay for the engine service because they said that a mouse chewed through some tubing. After a lot of intense conversations, they agreed not to charge me. In the process, they apparently banned me from their service department. After some online reviews (even one on Yelp), they apologized to me and welcomed me back. They asked me to take down my reviews, so I did. Now I'm putting one back up because it is my right to share my experience. I will never go back to Tracy VW. I hope they change ownership. If you are a VW or Audi owner on the Cape, go to another place for your service. Take your car off-Cape if you need any service under warranty. First time i went there i was about buy car so I wanted to be sure it's okay. And after they done with multi point check same service personnel told me it's good to buy after months I went there for 110k service and they give me full list of things needs to get fix and when i ask service personnel( different person) how come? He told me person who used to work wasn't good at his job and he got fired that kind of reason. I lost my money And today after over a year 7/16/2018 I just had the tow my car to the dealer ship to get some stuff fix. of course they are the closest one. Engine light was on they told me they fixed and i got my car back , on my way back home I felt car loses power on up hill like it did before. I am out of state customer wanting to buy Tesla Model 3 and initially, this dealership agreed to sell it to a out of state customer as long as the customer takes care of shipping. I got a quote from them and I also provided the info necessary for them to run my credit for financing the vehicle. Now the sales manager is not willing to sell it to out of state customer. He should have told me upfront and I would not have provided my personal info and would not have wasted my time and energy. i tried to talk to the general manager and he doesn't let me talk to him either. Tracy Volkswagen is the only place to bring your VW on cape Cod! I had my check engine light turn on, which as all VW owners know is the worst feeling. How many thousands will I spend on my car when I bring it in? I was sitting in the waiting area praying that my car wouldn't have TOO many problems, no such luck. My car had so many problems, Chris laid the news to me gently but then I told her I had a warranty!! She talked to the warranty company for a long time... I have dealt with other 'Foreign car' companies on Cape Cod that accept warranties but they make a big deal about it and double charge you after the warranty has already paid for things. Not to mention they lend me a car for free the whole time they are working on your car! Chris kept me updated the whole time and was very nice through whole process. This is the worst car dealership I have ever dealt with. Brought my car here a few months ago and was told I had to replace something that would cost $2100. I found that to be ridiculous since I went there to only have a light looked at. Brought it to another mechanic who told me there was nothing wrong with the part that they told me I had to replace. Then recently brought the car there again for an oil change and was told I had to spend $5500 on the car because there were multiple problems with it. Again brought the car to a different mechanic who told me there was nothing wrong with any of the things Tracy VW had told me. I love y 2012 Volkswagen Jetta TDI. However there is a reason I went to RI to buy my car.I saved about eight thousand dollars. I wanted to keep my car getting fixed by a Volkswagon certified personnel, however this place is awful. They try to nickle and dime you on everything. My tire exploded on the highway, they tried to blame a pothole. There was no pothole on the highway. In the middle of winter I had a nail in my tire. I asked them about road hazard coverage on my tires they had "no idea" and didn't believe that I had coverage. So I got it plugged. Our jetta died while on a trip to the cape. We called Tracy and they let us have the tow truck drop the car off for service the following week. Christine called first thing Monday morning, was extremely helpful and managed to sneak us in to repair a snapped timing belt (not a quick fix). Service was excellent, and pricing was fair. Recently closed a deal with John Marshall on a '11 Jetta. The whole purchase process was pleasantly painless. For a busy sunday afternoon we were greeted right away, not ignored as if we were a spare piece of furniture. We were able to test drive the car with out the salesman riding along. For me this was great. This allowed us to really get the feel of the car without the sales pressure sitting in the back. When we started to negotiate the price we discovered that the dealers margins were not as large as other manufacturers. Once we knew this we were better able to get the car at an acceptable price. Steve Tellegen has been with them for years and is the consummate professional. Incredibly Knowledgeable about the product, no pressure and he listens to what you want. My friend ended up buying a 2013 Tiguan, that same day, and she is absolutely thrilled with the vehicle. The financial person, Steve was just great, working for the best deal for the buyer. The car was the one I wanted but the salesman was not. During my interaction with him, he belittled me, my mechanic, contradicted himself, gave me incorrect information about the car, even gave me info about the car that contradicted what the Tracy website said. Normally go to VW service in Boston Area, but occasionally go here. The service experience is poor here. Example, just had the 50,000 mile check up and the car is now leaking. It will take me 4 hours to get in and back to this place to fix something that they caused. They even forgot to put the caps on the tires back on after checking the tire pressure. Then, the mechanic did not know how to open the gas tank by unlocking it. You can't make this stuff up. read more
