We had a brake booster repair at Tracy's auto repair. They said it was fixed and they let us drive off in our vehicle. The brakes were faulty, and when I pressed the gas down to the floor, the car would stop mid traffic. It was a very dangerous driving situation that Tracy's Auto Repair allowed us to drive in as soon as we left their lot. Keegan (who works at Tracy's Auto Shop) claimed it was a faulty part, and he said that they would fix it, and yet, now, when it is still under time warranty, we brought it back, because it had completely broken down again, and Keegan said although it is in time warranty, it is out of mileage warranty, thus Keegan refused to repair it. Just minutes before, we had left Jiffy Lube to change the brake pads, which were still in time warranty, but were out of mileage warranty. Jiffy Lube fixed the break pads anyway, free of charge. We then drove straight to Tracy's Auto Repair and Keegan had us put on the break over and over again. He told us he could not repair it for two days and to return then. When we drove off, the same driving condition that was extremely dangerous occurred all over again. Additionally, it had completely melted the brand new brake pads and all the work that Jiffy Lube had just done for free. Keegan was extremely rude to my son and myself. We were in the middle of a move, and he could not have been more inconsiderate . Keegan then called this morning and said that it was not out of time warranty, but it was out of mileage warranty, thus Keegan refused to repair it. This is the worst treatment we have ever received at any auto shop, and it is the worst treatment that we have ever received as human beings in the way that Keegan treated us - ever. I would highly recommend Jeremy and his team over at Jiffy Lube in Heber City. I highly discourage anyone from patronizing Tracy's Auto Repair in a Heber City, Utah. read more

Update - Went to pick up my vehicle again, 4th time, and I saw a 4" circumference oil leak under my vehicle. Went in the office, Keith came out, looked at it and said they'd take care of it. I was flabbergasted that it was done WRONG again. Then another guy came out, look under the vehicle and said it's just RESIDUAL oil leaking. I said, WHAT? There shouldn't be any oil leaking from underneath my vehicle. He stood up and said, It doesn't matter, you're not important and won't be coming back again!! I was stunned. I followed him into the office and asked did you just say what I think you said? He laughed and said yes. I asked his name, MR CUSTOMER SERVICE'S name is ZEKE. Tracy obviously could care less about how his customers are treated. This morning there were two big oil spots on the floor of the garage. I crawled underneath and can see oil dripping from the pan that covers the bottom of the vehicle. I now have an appointment with VW in Orem as my husband is concerned that they not only stripped the drain plug but ruined the thread inside the oil pan. Last pic is the latest oil in my garage. Unless you are desperate and can't get your automotive work done anywhere else I would avoid Tracy Auto like the plague. I have been going to him since 2010 when his shop was off of highway 189. Took my VW Touareg in for a SIMPLE oil change on December 1st, wanted to get it done before my husband's ankle replacement on December 7th. I reminded them when I dropped it off that they CANNOT reuse the metal oil ring on the drain plug. Picked it up and didn't drive it much and on Sunday, coming back from the barn, I noticed a huge oil slick in the house garage, I am talking HUGE!!! It was so large I can guarantee that the mechanic did not even put in an O ring let alone use the old one (which you can't do because when you screw in the drain plug it crushes the O ring). I called them Monday Dec. 4th about the oil slick and mess in my garage. I also sent a text to Tracy, he didn't seem real concerned about it. I asked for 15.00 reimbursement for the container of cat litter I had to wasted on the oil spill. He never responded to that. Took it back in on the 4th for the 2nd TIME and on the way home I checked the oil level, its done electronically in the VW. They had overfilled it and there was a message it was overfilled and need to reduce the oil level!!! I called and got their VM and left a message and asked for a call back. I did not hear back from them and forgot as I was getting things ready for Steve's surgery on the 7th. On the 8th I called again and the front desk guy said I could bring it in Monday or Tuesday the 11th or 12th. Of course now I would need to find someone to meet there to take me home and then take me back to get the car since Steve could not drive after his surgery, no weight bearing for 6 weeks. Dropped it off on the 12th and when I picked it up I checked the oil level and it was down 2 marks from the MAX level, it was not full as it should have been. Even though the guy at the front desk told me they had removed 8 quarts and put 8 quarts back in. I believe that was a lie and probably got the information from the mechanic who can't seem to do a simple oil change. I figured screw it, I'll add some oil in a week or so. Today, Dec 18th, coming back from the barn I noticed a big wet spot in the garage. Got out and SURPRISE, SURPRISE, SURPRISE. There was another big oil spill on the garage floor. See last picture on the review. Called and got the same lack of any real concern and could care less if I had to come down again for the 4th TIME!! Told the kid I wanted 50% refund on my oil change and he could check with Tracy before I got there. Couldn't find anyone to pick me up so we got Steve into the 2500 pickup and he followed me over. The counter guy said Tracy would NOT refund any of the cost of my oil change, THEY DON'T DO THAT!!! WHAT????? Took it in at about 10:30 am this morning still haven't heard back and quite honestly I expect it to leak again!!! I will never set foot into Tracy Auto for anything ever again. I wouldn't go there to get a flat tire fixed. This place is nothing like it used to be. Tracy could care less about his customers and the incompetence shown on a simple oil change and how I have been inconvenienced is appalling. They had the same guy work on it all 4 times it was in for a simple oil change. BUT, social media is a powerful thing and I will be hitting every single review site there is and warning people not to take their vehicles to his establishment. You are rolling the dice if you take your vehicle in there for anything!!! Find somewhere else to go. read more

I was in a really rough spot, My boat was on Jordanelle resivoir, but my boat trailer had a very important part come loose and break off. My adult kids stayed with the baot as I knew I wouldn't be able to load my boat back on the trailer without repairs. I started driving through Heber and came accros Tracys auto repair. I stopped and explained my perdicament, including explaining I had my kids sitting at the lake in the boat and I had no way of loading my boat back onto the trailer to get it home. The two men at Tracys (I wish I had got their names), but they were not only friendly and professional, I can tell you they saved me and within 30 minutes they had made the repairs I needed to get the boat loaded and me back on the road to be able to load my boat and get my boat and kids back on our way home. Sticking to the facts, so I can alert other vehicle owners. I consider this a public review, and I'd want to know if it happened to someone else. Took my truck to Tracy's auto in Heber. Told them it was shifting hard, making a clanking noise, and that my trailer lights didn't work. Check engine lights were on. Took them two days to let me know it was a ujoint and engine coil, as well as a bad fuse for the lights. Another day to replace those. I picked it up after hours (and therefore didn't have any to explain to me why the check engine lights were all still on), paid the bill ($105 for a fuse?!?) and drove the truck exactly 30 miles (I have a photo of odometer when it was dropped off and when it broke down)). The engine seized, and the truck had to be towed. After asking other mechanics to diagnose it, they said there's no way any mechanic should have missed that the engine was seizing, because of the clanking noise it was making. They told me it should never have left the shop, and was unsafe to drive. I called Tracy's auto back and explained to them what had happened. I asked that since my truck was now salvage material, would they be willing to refund the labor only and meet in the middle, since I paid $557 for a truck that didn't make it 30 miles down the road. I thought meeting in the middle was reasonable. They said no. They wouldn't be willing to refund anything. read more

Our cars are older and not without problems. Keegan is very patient with us and always does his best to work us in and get repairs done quickly. His customer service is next level and he is a very kind and respectful young man. We trust Tracy's auto with all of our car repairs. read more

After these incompetent clowns lied to me and had my ECM module rebuilt in Florida-first telling me it was a fuel relay that was the problem and it would be ready in 1\2 an hour-- that didn't solve it -they then installed the rebuilt ECM module and the car still didn't start. This clown show lasted three weeks. I had the car towed out of the clown arena. They failed to put the car back together right and I had to return to them and get my missing parts that they didn't remember to reinstall. They had the nerve to charge me $300+ and said I didn't give them time to fix the problem by towing my car out of there. True story folks. I've rented a U-Haul with Tracy's several times and will never go back there. The last straw was them charging me $110 for a missing dolly which I absolutely returned. As other people have noted, they will find every excuse to charge to a fee. Compared to other place in town, the trucks are old and run down. The manager is extremely abrasive and rude. Go to Timpanogos Storage. Their trucks are in great condition and the people are extremely nice. I've never been charged a fee. read more

DO NOT USE THIS AUTO SHOP!!!! I brought my car in to get fixed. I went back 6 different times, each time the part they put in didn't work or had some sort of defect. Then on my last visit to get my original problem done, they broke a sensor on my car, they told me it was their fault and would pay to replace it. I went in, the part they replaced broke while fixing my car, they asked me to come back in and have them do it again. I went in today, and even though I had an appointment and they special ordered the part they denied it being their fault or knowing anything about this service. They said if I want it then I have to pay full price for it. I asked them to call the owner and he was very dismissive and offered no solution to the problem that he and his staff created. Can't believe this guy is still in business... He screwed me over big time years ago. He put a side mount rubber stem motorcycle tube in a center mount front wheel that's supposed to take a metal stem. I caught the problem when I got home. I told him about it and he could care less. If you're familiar with motorcycles and you have a blowout on your front tire it can be fatal. Avoid this guy at all cost because it could cost you your life!!! read more

Called Tracy's for a quote on brake and rotor replacement and was told I would have to bring my car in. I brought it in not noticing that they had a hefty diagnostic fee. When I got a quote that was 2X the price of anywhere else in the valley, I decided to go somewhere else. When I arrived to pick up my car I questioned the need for "diagnostics" when I had previously asked for a quote because I knew what I needed. I explained that if their quote wasn't 2X everyone else's I would have just had them do the job. I was told "well maybe you should ask for a raise if you can't afford it. Or maybe you shouldn't own a Subaru". Not a great experience at all. Just avoid the hassle and go somewhere else... read more

As a single woman with an older car I've been told I've needed everything from blinker fluid flushes to a fresh coat of paint on my tailpipe (ok, not really, but you get the point). I've found my Holy Grail of car repair shops. I trust them to tell me honestly what's needed and to give me a fair price. They've changed my oil, replaced my brakes, fixed my A/C, my tail light...the list goes on. I'm so glad I've discovered this amazing place! I actually enjoy going in. All I wanted was to get a hitch installed for a bike rack. It took nearly 2 months for it do get done after multiple back-ordered and lost parts. Despite assuring me that I would get updates, they never called me at any point of the process, I had to call them to figure out what was going on. I had an appointment with them scheduled, and when I arrived, they said they didn't know where the part went. As compensation for weeks without communication and them dropping the ball, I was offered free labor, but they still billed me for it and will not refund me. They also claimed I was late to the appointment although I was waiting outside their building for them to open. During my appointment office employees were yelling at each other and being extremely unprofessional. Not a single employee was wearing a mask, including when they were driving my car around their lot. Solely based on the lack of communication between this business and its customers, I have NO idea how anyone with a more serious vehicle issue could feel confident about using their services. These people are rip off artists, I would never recommend getting any kind of work done here. Brought my car in to get "looked" to see why the control arm on the driver side might clicking, the idiot mechanic (not sure of his name) ended up saying it was a drivers side transmission mount which was completely WRONG. Super generic diagnosis to throw out there. The sound was coming from a control arm UNDER the car and had nothing to do with a transmission motor mount on TOP of the car. Mechanic was either high or drunk, just didn't know or simply didn't really care so threw out a whatever diagnosis. Got it relooked at by a mechanic that actually has common sense and was told there is NOTHING wrong with your transmission motor mounts. This place was going to charge me $415 for a transmission mount that wasn't even needed. Also, their brake installation services are super overpriced. They were going to charge me $185 more than what I ended up paying at a much more reputable mechanic. Ended up having to still pay for them to "look" at my car they called it a "diagnostic" fee. Super crazy as the "diagnosis" was completely WRONG. Total idiot mechanic and front desk clerks try to strong arm you out of money and run a corrupt business. Not sure how they even get business I guess customers have too much trust in the mechanics. Well in any event I would NOT suggest you go here bring your business elsewhere. This place sucked. And thank goodness I didn't throw away my money on a completely wrong diagnosis. Total idiots and extremely unprofessional. Do not trust what they tell you. read more

First wanted to get a simple repair done, they broke a bolt blamed it on me and said it would be 700$ without even mentioning there was another way to repair my vehicle. Next the replacement that they did broke in a week and then they said is "if that repair made more damage to something else, we are not liable" Burt brothers in park city is miles on miles better with service and quality, Tracy's is an old, sketchy, and run down place so in hindsight they are living up to their name. DO NOT USE!!!! What can I say, but avoid this shop. They are a scam. We are from Colorado and had issues with our Jeep that was under Technet warranty. This is why we chose this shop to take our Jeep to. They told me my oil pump was bad and charged me diagnostics, but could not get part in time so we towed Jeep back to Colorado to find out they never checked the pressure as charged for. I called for a refund since I was charged for something they didn't do. Then the lady I talked to was a real B and told me to go ahead and write a bad review, she was tired of talking to me, instead of refunding my $50. If we would have waited for them to get the part and replace it, we would have still been stranded in Utah because they never diagnosed the issue. All I wanted was a $50 refund for a job, my shop said there was no way they could have done because the seal wasn't disturbed. read more

Took my Lexus in to Tracy for a 120,000 mile check. They had earlier quoted me $1200 for that check. This was a major maintenance job - spark plugs, fluids, etc. At check-in, I gave them a copy of the 120k checks from the Lexus maintenance sheet. When I picked up the car, the bill came to $650, and she (Mariah) assured me that the mechanic did everything on the 120k maintenance sheet. I told her that he didn't because I marked the wheels just to see if the tires were rotated, as that was part of the 120k check - and they were not rotated. Also, there were no charges for oil, filters, fluids. In short, the only work done was changing the spark plugs. I asked to speak to Tracy. He was not there. I asked Mariah to have Tracy call me. She said she would. It's been over a week now and no call from Tracy. Poor, unsatisfactory service and no concern for customer satisfaction. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THEM! I'm currently stuck on the side of the road. I took my 2010 Subaru with 50k for a lube and oil change. Drove my car maybe 3 miles and it completely stalled out. They broke my coil which was arching spark across the whole engine bay. The guy came and said yep this isn't our fault it's a faulty part. Proceeds to leave me on the side of the road. Doesn't offer a tow home nothing. The car is brand new bought from a Subaru dealer, I dropped it off after work in which it ran perfect and after taking it to Tracys it suddenly breaks down. The coil is $300 plus labor, so thx for the $500 dollar oil change Tracy!!! Also I almost forgot the positive battery cable wasn't even tightened down was basically off the post when I opened the hood!! read more

This place is terrible!!!. I bought 4 brand new tires in September and the minute I drove off the lot had problems. They don't warranty ANYTHING and I now have to buy a new tire that they didn't find a problem with when I first brought it back. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS! THEY WILL THREATEN TO CALL THE COPS ON YOU BECAUSE OF THEIR OWN INCOMPETENCE. These guys gave us the wrong Uhaul truck, and somehow didn't figure this out until 24 hours later. At this point we had already packed all of our belongings onto this huge 6 bedroom truck. He then proceeded to tell us if we didn't return the truck by noon he would CALL THE COPS and report the vehicle stolen. I have a 14 month old daughter, and he's threatening to call the cops? And what? Did he expect us to unload all of our belongings in only a couple hours? And leave them on the lawn of our condo complex? We lived on the third floor in a condo, there's no way we'd be able to haul all of our stuff back upstairs. Luckily, after we called Uhaul and reported the problem, one of the regional managers told us to keep the truck and that he'd send us an email confirming we did not steal it in case he did call the cops. I hope Uhaul considers not allowing this guy to represent their business in the future. The reason there's evil in the world is because of people like this. Well, it has been almost two years, I have been carrying Tracy's business card around this entire time with great intentions to send them a thank you card! Yet I believe an excellent Yelp review would be just as good, or better! Anyways, I had driven 1 hr to Heber City, Utah from a small town in Wy. for my sons Orthodontist appointment when I realized we had a flat tire! We had just replaced all our tires a week prior at Costco. Tracy's was the closest, an busiest Auto repair when I noticed my flat. With little to no wait, they had my car up on a lift, removed a razor blade, repaired the tire as my son and I waited in there cozy waiting area. Everyone was so nice and helpful, but what was above and beyond? They sent us on our way with, "NO CHARGE"! I am still in awe and shock after two years that this small business would give to the community as they did that day. Amazing, and unheard of! They are the best! My 20 year old son recently moved from Colorado to Park City, Utah. Shortly before arriving his car blew the transmission. We live in Iowa so of course we had no idea who to contact for help. We saw the reviews for Tracys and had the car towed there. Jason from Tracys was great to work with. He was honest with me about the car and its problems. As far as I can see the cost for repair was very similar to what we would pay back in Iowa. He found things like some tire problems, a head light out and even a dipstick missing. Great "local" service-but better yet-much better than the terrible service I had received on my boat in Salt Lake! Tom is extremely knowledgeable and helpful; fixed a quick thing earlier this summer for me-and then today... I needed a bit of help (a fake lake), and Tom totally stepped up, offered that, AND jumped in to help as another thing I didn't expect came up. Total confidence in Tom and Tracy's power sports! I was ready to file in small claims and someone suggested I try directly talking to Tracy, the owner before I did that. So I did. I called him and he was unaware of the run-around I was getting and upset with how I had been treated by his office manager. He told me to bring my car back and he would find another used engine and put it in for me. He apologized for the service I had gotten and said he would take care of it. Hopefully this has a happy ending but I am feeling optimistic. Tracy sounds like a genuinely nice guy who wants to do good business. I took my 2005 Hyundai Elantra to Tracy's Auto Repair on 10/18/11 for repairs. I was quoted between $45 and $90 labor to have a previously cross threaded oil pan drain plug replaced which required the pan to have new threads tapped and an oversized drain plug installed. I waited on the premises while the service was completed. After 2 hours waiting in their office, I was told the car was finished and was handed a bill. Total cost with tax of $14.78, $38.40 in parts and $198 in labor costs, the total was $251.18. I could have purchased a new oil pan for not much more. When I questioned the office man about the labor costs, he stated that the job was more difficult than expected and I argued to no avail that I was not informed the cost to be more than $90 labor. He just smiled and I paid the bill. I will never return with my business and would not recommend Tracy's Auto Repair to anyone. read more
