Buying a new car is usually a pain, and is especially a pain right now with how inventory is. I…read morewanted a new Jeep Wrangler 4xe Rubicon in Gecko Green. I checked with a few dealers around me in Utah Valley and they all tried to push me towards some of their existing inventory or inventory coming in. Some said they couldn't order that color or gave other excuses. I decided to email Karl Malone and was quickly told they could get me what I wanted and to come in. I came in, sat down, and had my Jeep ordered the exact way I wanted it in 5 minutes. Of course it took forever to arrive, but that is the same everywhere right now. Once it got there, I was given a great overview of every function/button in the Jeep, along with some other information. Financing also helped me work around a hiccup I had where I needed to transfer funds over from one bank account to the bank account the check was being written from. I will say, I wish they were a little more competitive with their pricing (MSRP with no room to budge), and I do wish they would have given me an exact total cost, including taxes, registration, etc. back when I was ordering rather than waiting til the day it came in. Other than that though, it was great and I love my new Jeep!

Karl Malone's repair service in Heber City ("Karl Malone") was dishonest and incompetent. I had a…read moreleaky trans cooler line and Karl Malone claimed to have fixed it and also claimed they test drove my Travato to "verify" the fix. The mechanic claimed he conducted a pressure test "twice," which does not even make sense (why twice?) The Travato was not test driven as shown by the "mileage in/out" being identical at the top of the invoice (the van was not driven). Karl Malone charged $1005.73 for this service. The next time I drove it, to Powder Mountain, steam started coming out from under the hood and I had to stop to investigate, then called my Houston mechanic who stated that it was a coolant leak (based on me popping the hood and seeing no coolant in the coolant container). Karl Malone knew I was traveling alone by Winnie and sent me off with a badly leaking system, putting me in danger that I could be stuck. I had not yet learned of the incompetency or dishonesty on the invoice, so I took it back to Karl Malone to get it fixed correctly. This time Karl Malone tried to charge $1376.75 but I was able to reduce the bill to $1018.76. I spoke to the manager who was a weak and non-credible man. Karl Malone knew I was driving it back to Houston immediately and once again, the Travato was NOT fixed. By the time I got a few hundred miles on the road to Texas, I could smell coolant burning, meaning it was leaking inside and evaporating. When I returned to Houston, I took it to an honest mechanic who fixed it for about $300. My Houston mechanic said Karl Malone overcharged me and took advantage of my predicament. I texted the service advisor who had been helping me (Mike Horrocks) and told him what happened. He never texted back. In sum, Karl Malone charged $2024.49 for two attempts to fix a coolant leak, did not fix it, sent me out twice with leaking coolant, putting me at risk while driving long distances alone, and was dishonest. Stay away from these bad-karma people at Karl Malone.

I did not have that experience at this dealer. I felt respected. I felt heard I did not feel like I was being convinced to do anything that I wasn't comfortable with. The vehicle that I purchased was exactly what I needed and it turned out exactly what I wanted. I was very lucky to have met such a gentle kind giant salesman and I suggest you ask for him. You won't forget his name: Shreck!!! Shreck is awesome, knowledgeable, polite, excellent customer service, great sense of humor, very patient.... Anyway, good luck with your car purchase. Everybody has different experiences and has different taste. I just had a great experience and will probably buy a car from them in the future.

We were provided an estimate for repairs on my wife's Jeep…read more 1. There were hundreds of extra dollars of charges as separate line items for each service requested, that were blamed on a system error when asked about. 2. Attempted to double up on labor for multiple services. Labor was quoted separately for engine oil cooler replacement, thermostat replacement, and spark plug replacement, even though there is overlapping labor, adding hundreds of dollars in extra cost. 3. Nontransparent estimates with no explanation of charges (i.e. labor, parts, fluids). 4. Was told that the Jeep would be ready by the end of the week, but I had to call on Friday afternoon because I didn't hear anything. We dropped the vehicle off on Monday. No one answered the phone so I finally left a message asking for a status update. A bit later, I get an automated message saying it was ready, about 2 hours before the service department closed. Very shady business practices. People who are not knowledgeable about the work being performed, are likely getting screwed. If I had the time to do it myself before my wife needed to leave on a long trip, I wouldn't have even let them do the work after the untrustworthy behavior. We will never bring a vehicle back here.
