I over heard the owner outside telling his assistant to move as slow as possible so they can bill more since he needed the money. What should have been a 4-6 hour job with 2 guys ( that's what was agreed upon) took 12 hours for the one guy to do alone and THEY NEVER FINISHED THE JOB. When I refused to pay the amount demanded even before the work was done the guy calls the cops. TWICE! He had a bill he needed to pay that night so was demanding payment for work not done. Sadly my aunt payed them ( she hates conflict) and now I have to take them to court to recoup the money paid. The job was never finished. They were stoned half the time and the hour or so the owner was here he spent it yelling and demeaning his employee. Beyond unprofessional. The employee seemed to know what he was doing but was left here for 12 hours alone and was exhausted. The owner is a joke. DOES NOT KNOW WHAT HE IS DOING. So, if you want an abusive aggressive guy that carries a gun with him in the truck to destroy your house, call the cops when he lies and is demanding payment for work not done- this is your guy. In an attempt to be fair and objective I will do my best to write what has been said, communicated,…read moreor provided. Bottom Line up front: If they had not been the installer of the unit with their information tagged to the equipment, I expect I would have used someone different. Back in late September / Early October I called to coordinate a maintenance visit. It was scheduled for 13 November 2024. I received a call stating the appointment had to be rescheduled because the 13th was the company's annual meeting. Systemic Problem #1 Communication: An annual meeting is scheduled well in advance. In most cases about 11 months out. Why was this not communicated to all employees and placed on their calendars? This would have prevented the appointment from being scheduled. When asked why no one knew this when I scheduled my appointment. I was told no one knew about the meeting. IE: It was not communicated. Fast forward to the rescheduled date of 21 November. The technician climbs in the attic comes down and states the motor needs to be replaced. Mentions that he needs to order the part and will have to come back. Grabs his tools and leaves. Leaving a mess for me to pick up. Systemic Problem #2 Workers are not taught how to respect the client's home. Leaves a mess and I have to clean up after them. (Picture enclosed). The service technician returns to repair the unit and upon arrival asks if my ladder is still available. I said it is still in the house yes. Great I'll get my tools. Systemic Problem #2 Respect the customer's home. I had to get the ladder and place it in the hallway for the technician. The right answer should have been it's ok I'll just get mine or never ask in the first place. The technician climbs in the attic comes down and states the motor is the wrong motor. He was provided the wrong motor from the parts office. He will have to get them to order the right motor and come back. Systemic Problem #3 Check your equipment. You always check, and recheck that you have the right equipment/Parts before you leave for your job. As it was upon climbing into the attic and realizing that he had the wrong motor. He informed me of this issue and then started to complain how this happens a lot the, parts Department provides the wrong equipment. They do not check to make sure things are correct (See review 1/25/2024) He then asks if I would like him to clean things up. To which I state yes that would be nice. He then asks if I have the tools to do the clean-up. There are two systemic problems here:. Systemic problem #4 the employees are not provided the equipment to clean up after completing their work in a customer's home nor have they been told it is expected for them to clean up/ This ties directly to systemic Problem #2 Respecting the customer's home. (picture included) The Thanksgiving weekend comes and goes. I call first thing Monday 2 Dec to ask about the repair. My home is sitting at 55 degrees. I'm informed that there is no timeline planned as we do not have the parts. I am also told that they will not know when the parts will be available until after 10 AM. Systemic Problem #5. No one takes responsibility, it's the next guy's fault. The Employee complains its parts, parts complain it's the supplier, and it's not their fault. It is now Dec 19th and I have received a call that the service tech is on there way. Today they should be replacing the motor to the unit. The technician arrived and replaced the motor and then promptly told me the thermostat was bad. I left the house for an appointment, upset and frustrated. I reached out and contacted the Company. I was placed in touch with the service manager. In my conversation with him I asked the question regarding how is the thermostat bad it less than 6 months old and was the technician trying to milk me for more money. His response was no we are not trying to milk you out of your money and if you would like we will happily replace the old motor and have you hire someone else. I informed him if that was how he wanted to deal with the situation I would be happy to include that in my review. In addition to that, I mentioned Problem #2 The technician was in and out and instead of using the walkway chose to walk across newly planted sod tracking the loose dirt into my home and on to my carpet. Leaving the carpet stained. The manager agreed to send out a second technician, reimburse me for the carpet cleaning. New Tech shows up the thermostat is not bad, the old control board was not replaced with the with the new control board shipped with the motor. New Tech Wonderful. In the end the issue with my system was corrected. Albeit 62 days after the initial request. If a response is provided please address the changes the company is making to the systemic problems. Loyalty is not retained when the service doesn't meet expectations.

I called their office and spoke to a manager and he said they don't charge by the hour but by the job and said sometimes this job calls for an hour and a half. I have been a customer with Jerry Brittingham A/C & Heat since late 2022, trusting them to install a brand-new, complete HVAC system in January 2023. I also consistently paid for their "Club Membership," where technicians constantly used buzzwords like "VIP treatment" and "VIP pricing."Unfortunately, my experience has revealed a systemic culture of botched technical work, relentless upselling, and a complete lack of accountability from ownership. Here is the exact reality of how this company treats long-term clients: 1) A Botched 2023 Installation: Right after installation, another technician had to come out to fix severe errors made by their own install team. They found double filters restricting airflow, dangerously high static pressure, a whistling system, and the blower motor incorrectly set to a 3-ton speed on a 2.5-ton system. Most shockingly, the thermostat wires were crossed (heating/cooling modes swapped) and high-voltage wiring was left sloppy. *This is still very much unsettling, and possibly a contributing factor in life expectancy of this unit. 2) Paying for Their Setup Errors: In May 2025, during routine maintenance, I was told my brand-new system was low on refrigerant and charged $74.99. An HVAC system is a sealed loop. Given that their own tech previously noted a visible drip on the suction line outside, they either undercharged it at install or ignored a leak--yet they charged me for it to push their Club Membership. *Still rubs me the wrong way, this was their issue one way or the other. They performed the initial install, and subsequent follow up maintenance. 3) The Relentless Upsell Grind: Every single routine maintenance visit is treated as a high-pressure sales funnel. In December 2025, it was a $756 UV light. On my most recent prepaid maintenance visit, it was a $471.00 capacitor replacement ($300 labor for a 10-minute swap while the truck was already in my driveway, and $171 for a universal part instead of using my standard 2023 factory warranty). * This was an upsell, but after researching they did not seem to inflate anything here, the tech Rochelle was also very thorough with the visit. The UV light was a good idea given the issues pointed out. No regrets here. 4) The "Tech Error" Excuse & Partial Refund: When I challenged the math, they scrambled, blamed a "new tech," and refunded me $129.00. However, their revised math still forced me to pay an unreasonable $342.00 total for a basic 10-minute add-on swap during a visit I had already paid for. *This was horrible, but as the owner stated, they have given me a FULL refund for this repair, I believe that was the least they could do given the circumstances of the "universal" part, and the length of time spent on this repair. 5) Ownership Ghosting: After I sent management a factual timeline of these issues, the owner personally called me and left a voicemail stating he would try calling again and would also send an email. He did neither. They completely failed to follow up, proving that their "customer care" disappears the moment they realize you see through their pricing tricks. *This was a complete miss on my part... After receiving an additional email from the owner, and looking up the date/time of their first email send, I did find the initial email from the owner in my Spam folder. I want to make it perfectly clear that the owner did indeed follow up, and provided proof that ultimately led me to find out why I thought I did not receive an email initially. My membership is fully utilized, and I am officially done doing business with them. I am taking my system to an honest, independent local contractor in the Port Orange area who relies on a real reputation rather than corporate pricing tiers and phantom discounts. Save yourself the headache and the money--look elsewhere. *I did not alter my review as I wanted to be as transparent as possible. The owner did indeed reach out and tried to follow up after I raised my concerns, but given the overall experience I am not going to continue to do business with them, regardless of the full refund on my last visit. Your mileage may vary, and I would hope they do better going forward, my last visit was only part of the problems I have had with them but the only one they chose to address.
