Great place to shop for great food, but be prepared to spend a little extra here for the extra goodness you are about to purchase. To add to Brian, I was there a couple times over the last couple weeks and they did have a little food/drink station out, so you will be able to sample the goodies on days they do have it set up. Drove 20 miles to go and found access is very limited due to COVID with long line, even early afternoon. While this I is not their fault and I support caution and safety, the way I was post-barring treatment was crap. After being called out for trying to walk in without noticing the line (well spaced in opposite direction), another employee loudly congratulated the employee who stopped me....like I was a criminal and got caught. This is one of my favorite places for nuts and snacks. They have a huge variety of dried fruit and nuts of all different kinds. Those Thai chili Lime Cashews are the bomb diggity! They also have a very extensive selection of organic coffee. The little cans that they come in are pretty cute. I've seen people collect them. I am a bit disappointed in their produce. It is a very small selection. I feel like they have more pre-made and frozen food than they do natural organic food!. Unfortunately, eating well and healthy actually means food that grew from the soil or from a healthy animal. Processed food...not so much. I really wouldn't consider this a "health food" store. read more

I love this place. It's small and easy to navigate. It doesn't have a ginormous warehouse but it is right--sized for me. Great for smaller families, singles, couples in need of reasonable packaging instead of the giant multipacks found at membership warehouses. Small fruit & vegetable selection but do have a nice selection of seasonal organic foods and always well priced. Nicely priced selection of flowers, bouquets, herbs and seasonal varieties. Great prices on variety of interesting coffees, whole beans and ground, and teas. Also featuring a new coffee taste at the food demo bar and suggest checking that out for intro to new tastes and products (and to say hello to the fab crew mates making it great). Interesting selections of unique foods and well-priced. And if you are unsure about any item, ask for a taste test! They are always willing to allow you to sample something before you buy. If you don't want to try before you buy, their return policy is great. Just bring it back for a full refund. Love the quirky associates and neat vibe. Sometimes, you'll get the obnoxious clients who rush around pushing their carts into you, oblivious, lacking respect and proper manners (who let those types out?) but overall, it's a great shop. I try to shop weekdays, or later at night to avoid those crazy rude people. Oh, and around the winter holidays, be sure to EAT before you go for a shop. Otherwise, you'll end up with a basket stuffed with goodies instead of food. They have the most amazing holiday goodies--candy cane green tea bags, dark chocolate peppermint Jo-Jo's (their version of oreos), Pfeffernusse, gingerbread man cookies, great gift boxes to share or hoard. I can do a shop for under $50 and have more than a week's food on hand with variety and flavor. (I'm a vegan so I don't include meats in my food budget.) read more

I love Trader Joes, and this is a decent location. It's also super packed on weekends, but I've never not been able to find parking, even if I have to walk a little bit further. The employees are helpful and pleasant, and thank you effusively if you bring your own bag, which makes you feel good. A few times, they've been out of stock on several of the most popular items (garlic fries, cookie butter, etc), but really no big deal. The Annapolis mall is right across the street, making it a convenient location. Wish it were closer to my house though.... Also, since it's in Maryland, NO BOOZE. Ugh. read more

Very well kept Trader Joe's! I greatly appreciate Trader Joe's COVID protocol. They make sure their store is not overcrowded to ensure people can properly social distance, every cart is wiped down, and wearing masks are strictly enforced. I feel very safe here! Also, I am obsessed with their products! My favorite is the Dark and Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups. You can find these delicious sweets above their frozen veggie aisle. Trader Joe's also has very kind staff members. I have always been greeted with a smile, and everyone is so positive and kind. I will warn though that this store can get very busy, and wait times to enter the store can take as long as 10-20 minutes. So if you want to get your groceries completed quickly on a weekend, you may want to reconsider. read more

I had to check this place out because while Austin has a super awesome Whole Foods, I kept hearing about how great Trader Joe's was. I had a grocery store envy. The store isn't huge but it has a decent selection of things at fair prices. The Hawaiian theme instantly drew me in as well. I love Trader Joe's but this location is not my favorite. Everything from the parking lot to the inside of the store just gives me anxiety and makes me claustrophobic. Trader Joe's is not a big store and none of them are but the aisles seem a little tighter than usual and I constantly found myself waiting for someone to finish deciding on what they're getting so that we could continue to move down the aisle...there was no such thing as going around them. This store does have high quality products at mostly good prices. However, I stopped shopping here years ago because of severe management problems. I have recently gone back and if anything the management has gotten worse. Specifically, this is a small store and gets incredibly crowded, but it is made all the worse because of the obstructions management creates. While customers are trying to maneuver through the narrow aisles the product-stockers are busy blocking shelves and floor space with boxes and carts. Cleaning staff are running large floor polishers up and down the aisles. All kinds of other free-standing display cases are littered around making things even more difficult. Restock shelves before the store opens is a simple solution of much of this problem. Get rid of some of these free standing display cases. I will never shop here again. read more

I love Trader Joe's. While, it might not be the best place to go for your family's weekly shopping trip, it is a fantastic spot for those "hard to find", "unique", "you didn't even know you were looking for it" items. Like Gooseberries. Who goes to the grocery store with gooseberries on their shopping list? And yet, this week at Trader Joes, I came home with a pint of the little beauties. Great place to fetch party foods, too. It's a frozen food dream come true including the ever delicious "Double Rainbow" Ice Cream from San Francisco CA. MMMMMMMMMM. Good cheese selections too. Produce can be somewhat hit or miss. Sometimes, you may find that they have the unique, but not the ordinary items you are looking for. The staff here is great too. Very friendly and helpful. Okay you've got a party, get together, shindig, or, God help you, a hoedown coming up. Mike doesn't eat red meat, Kelly's a vegetarian, Tanya only eats organic, and while Luther doesn't care what he eats he's bringing his cousin who's in college and has decided to be vegan for probably like two weeks but whatever cause you're a considerate host and this is going to be the Best. Soiree. Ever. But with all these different dietary restrictions you can't just drive down to McDonald's, load up on dollar menu cheeseburgers, and call it a day. People will Talk with a capital T and your party life will spiral out of control, you'll lose all your friends, and you'll find yourself out behind an Olive Garden giving people invitations to your recently renovated dumpster! Um, I've heard. But don't worry! I know you're concerned that if you try to cater to all these tastes you're going to have to go to Whole Foods and start hemorrhaging cash like a hemophiliac at a knife juggling convention. Eff that! Trader Joe's has what you need and against everything we've all ever been taught they have it at not crazy person prices! This place has everything you could want to satisfy your grocery needs! Organic? Check! And not just some dinky ass fruit stand in the corner where the manager threw a week old bag of oranges he bought off the interstate. This stuff's freaking everywhere! Did you want organic salad dressing? Eggs? Cereal? I freaking hope so cause these guys have it! You need vegetarian? Oh snap guess what?! You just found the Mecca of affordable vegetarian options! I'm not even going to talk about the produce section, which is awesome. This place is ridiculously vegetarian friendly. Veggie chili, veggie Caeser dressing, veggie worchester freaking shire sauce. And it's all GOOD. Vegan's you're in good shape too. And as an added bonus, every item they sell has a tiny hand written sign under it giving a description about it and damn near every one that's vegan includes something along the lines of "THIS IS TOTALLY VEGAN, VEGAN DUDE YOU SHOULD PUT THIS IN YOUR MOUTH." And if you aren't sure what to make? Every, EVERY, Trader Joe's has this person that cooks up samples for people to try. And not just any samples. They reach through the aether, summon the old gods of destruction, and from their song of death sung millenia from now, and scry new recipes from this aural chaos so that when you try their gnocchi you KNOW it's apocalyptically good. And Hell maybe you don't even have time for that. There's this one massive giant frozen aisle FILLED WITH READY TO GO FOOD! You just take it home, heat it over your dumpster fire, and BAM! You now have freaking Coq au Vin. You don't even know what that is but let me tell you right now: Delicious. So next time you got a gala coming up or even just want something decent for lunch, get your happy butt on down to Trader Joe's, get the food you want, grab some flowers for your SO, and know you've made a good decision. read more

I absolutely love the Annapolis location. It's very convenient and clean. The staff is always friendly and inclusive. I tend to go earlier in the day to avoid the crowd. The parking lot offers plenty of spaces and the crowds are a decent size. The produce is aways fresh and the shelves are always stocked. Great location! read more

This is an amazing Trader Joe's. It's clean, always stocked of what I'm looking for, but better yet, the employees are so nice! I mean the most friendly employees that make me feel like I'm a friend. They remember my name, what items I may have had trouble locating on my last visit, they even remember what we chatted about at the checkout. Now this is common in Trader Joe's which is why I'm such a regular. No matter where you are, state, city, department in the store, the employees are so sweet. I don't know if they just have the highest standards of all companies out there, or they just treat them really well. Whatever it is, it works and I really appreciate it. Best and largest TJ's I've been to in 5 states. Usually well stocked with all the usual TJ items. Once in awhile they're out of one of my favorite items, so I just have to come back. Yeah, it's always busy, but that comes with the territory: the size of the store doesn't force you into playing bumper cart with everyone else like so many other TJs. I wish I could take away a star for not having wine (where is my reliable 2-3 buck chuck!!?!?) but that's the state's fault and not TJ's. This was a well laid out, spacious outpost of the national chain. The employees were extremely helpful and there was little to complain about. I didn't see the drink and food sample station I'm so accustomed to in the Chicago area but it's quite possible I just missed it because I was on a mission to fill my fridge. The checkout associate suggested I drop by her favorite wine shop, "Corridor Wine & Sprits" in Laurel (MD) sometime where the prices are supposedly excellent. I love Trader Joe's, it's not a secret. I love this location. The shelves are always stocked and the staff are very friendly and willing to help. I went there with my infant and they offered to help bring my groceries to the car which was a huge help. The parking lot can be a little bust so watch out for pedestrians. Lets just get out of the way right up front. Its shame the TJ's in Maryland don't sell beer or wine. Also this review will not cover products as frankly that has nothing to do with the store. With that said we can move on to the actual review. This TJ's is a bit small compared to others in the area but its laid out logically to maximize space and flow of customers. The crew is receptive and helpful and genuinely knowledgeable about the products they sell. The lines at register are usually no more than a couple minutes even during rush times and the carts are policed in a timely fashion from the parking lot so as to always be available (but seriously come on people, stop being lazy and return them yourself from time to time). While they occasionally go out of stock on certain items its important to remember that this is in part because they try and stock lean so as to not have a surplus of product in the back. Less product in the back, less spoilage, more savings passed on to you. The store can get a bit cramped during rush times and especially on the weekends but the store has purchased the shoe place that used to be adjacent and will be expanding in the coming months. I'm not really a fan. Their private label foods are hit or miss. The frozen multigrain blend- excellent. The fat free ricotta- terrible. This location is so small and always packed. I love Trader Joes! Great staff - very friendly, knowledgeable, great prices. The fish is fresh and extremely tasty. The organic selection is abundant. The fruits and veges are ample, but not a large selection. There are plenty of gluten free foods and I've enjoyed all of them at this point. The store is small and easy to pop in and out (vs. Whole Foods in Annapolis where you need to camp out to get through the entire store). There is plenty of parking for convenience. read more

Are you as excited as I am about Trader Joe's expanding? You should be! The shoe store next door moved (though how THAT place stays in business is another question) and Trader Joe's has taken over. Right now there is a lot of empty space, with wider aisles as the store figures out how best to take advantage of the new space. Unfortunately, Maryland law does not permit it to carry wine or beer (thank you liquor store lobbyists) so we know what the new space WON'T be used for. Having said that, the fresh produce section seems larger than it was prior to the expansion. This particular store is easily accessible, and the people working there are friendly and efficient. I've never had a very long wait at any of the checkout lines. Access to the store is generally easy as the parking lot is quite spacious, although it has filled up before since the parking lot at the nearby mall is undersized. My only complaint (apart from the beer and wine, about which I will forever complain until the law changes) is that the layout doesn't make sense right now. That is probably because the store is in a transition stage, so this may require updating in a month or two. read more

My family loves TJ's. We visit this store every couple of weeks and no matter when we visit it's always very crowded. It makes shopping there feel a bit intense and stressful sometimes. I have tried shopping at very different times to see if it would help but it's always crowded. Good for them I guess. I have noticed they don't seem to have all of the same products as some of the other TJ's I have been to but that doesn't stop me from typically leaving with a cart full of food. I do notice the employees are nice and are always busy restocking. We just love the options and can't stay away even though I dread the overcrowded tight spaces inside and the even tighter parking outside. And as other reviewers have noticed I really wish they sold beer and wine at this location. Tip: Always check the dates on the hummus we have noticed almost every one we buy is only good for a few short days. read more

I am blessed to have Trader Joe's uber close to my house. It is extremely convenient. Sign up to receive the Fearless Flyer their ad in the mail and you will always know what they have new which is frequent. Their produce is the best price point in town and always stocked. The team members clearly love their jobs and are always very helpful when you are looking for something. In general, I love the Trader Joe's business model, philosophy, innovative products, price-point, value and culture. As a military family it has been a longstanding joke that we can't transfer anywhere without a Trader Joe's. I have enjoyed shopping at Trader Joe's in SoCal, NorCal, Michigan, Virginia, and now Maryland. Heck, I can even move "home" to Vermont now because they have Trader Joe's. It is the working man's Whole Foods. I can fill a cart at Trader Joe's for the cost or less than a couple bags at Whole Foods. Love you Trader Joe's! read more

This Trader Joes is always amazing. I feel like a superstar every time I shop here. I drive from Bowie to Annapolis just to purchase groceries for my family. A typical day here is sampling yummy food, free coffee, singing oldies with the happy bearded hippie guy, getting a hug from one of the cashiers just for hearing how well my son who's disabled is doing while running to get him a mini cart to practice his walking/balance. . And today my 17 year old son was presented with roses because of him getting a lacrosse scholarship and to wish him well in college. There aren't too many things that I have tried at Trader's that I did not like. I mostly stay away from the meats, as I had some very tough New Zealand beef. Here are a few must try items if you haven't sampled them yet. -Frozen mini croissants. (8 to a box). You take them out the night before put them on parchment on a cookie sheet and voila, the next morning they have proofed and are ready for the oven. Paris in a box. Not kidding. -Frozen mushroom turnovers. Delicious and not really that bad for you. -Unfiltered Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Delicious and a steal at $5.99. A staple in our household. -Tuna in Olive Oil - you pay twice or more at other supermarkets and that's if they even carry it. You will never go back to tuna in spring water. -White/Wheat pizza dough - for .99 cents we recreate thin style Chicago pizza at home. We even cut it into squares. The dough is so forgiving, you can even freeze it and then let it defrost on your counter before rolling out. Desserts-I love to cook but my focus goes to savory dishes so that I am worn out by the time we hit the end. Trader's never disappoints and everyone always wants the "recipe". Chocolate Granache Torte, Cheesecake, Tiramisu, etc. Nuts/dry fruits - Excellent selection and prices are great. Toasted pine nuts, toasted sliced almonds, dried cranberries, and on and on. Cheese - Their prices are going up but they used to be the most reasonable in town. They discontinued my favorite due to lack of sales..."Fontiago" a combination of fontina and asiago that was the ultimate pizza cheese, so flavorful and a perfect melt. You will be missed. The Annapolis store has expanded and reshuffled things, so the flow is better. Hopefully, they have reorganized it now to their liking since the past couple months it's been hard to navigate. I think they were going thru the trial and error stage which made finding your usual suspects a difficult endeavor. Nevertheless, I'm a fan and I'm glad they are here. read more

This was the first time at this Trader Joe's. It's the usual friendly atmosphere, tropical shirts, and this one I felt at home...most of the guys were bearded. It doesn't seem to be very large of a location but, the layout is very open. You seem kind of thrown in there, which isn't a bad thing...learn to be a better human, rub elbows and smile :o) Parking for this location is great. Large parking area shared with a few other stores. Love it here! Great cheap food (I know, I know, everyone says that) that's pretty authentic for a grocery store. Just had the heat & eat falafel & it wasn't bad at all. Love the green curry jasmine rice. Picked up some Indian food that I'm really excited about trying. Lines move quickly but families don't. The aisles are large but not large enough for a family of 5 to stop and contemplate/fight....so be ready to leave an aisle & approach it from the other end in order to get through/get to an item. read more

I really wanted to give this TJ's five stars, but they're often out of the most basic things I have on my grocery list. Things like: bananas, shredded cheese, soy milk. I don't know, maybe I'm going at a bad time. But it seems to me like their stock person needs to order some more stuff to accommodate the stuff flying off shelves. Aside from that, I LOVE THIS place. Affordable, healthy (if you want it to be). I love their diet ginger ale. I love their french baguette. The thing I love most is that you don't pay for produce by the pound - you pay for it by the count. It helps me keep my grocery costs relatively consistent. The staff is awesome, although the lines can get REALLY long at times (but hey, it's Annapolis. Deal with it.) This is my go-to grocery store. read more
