Exceptional Cut, Friendly Service -- Perfect for an extra special dinner. I stopped by recently to pick up a standing rib roast for our New Year's Day dinner and left genuinely impressed. The roast was on sale for $11.99 (regularly $18.99) -- a fantastic deal -- and the young man who helped me did an excellent job selecting a fresh, well-marbled piece. He kindly prepared and packed it with care, which made the whole experience smooth and pleasant. They probably have the best selections of meats around. After roasting at home, the meat tasted amazing: juicy, rich, and perfectly tender -- everything you want from a standing rib roast. The store itself is consistently clean, staff are mostly friendly and attentive, and the quality of both meats and produce is reliably fresh. I've shopped at several Fresh Market stores in a few different states in the last decade or so, and I've always liked them. I stopped by this Fresh Market location last week when I was in Annapolis, and it's a nice location. Pretty standard looking except that I noticed the ceilings were higher than in other locations that I've been to - so it felt comfortable and bright and bigger (even though it might not be) than other locations. Otherwise, it has everything I've come to expect from Fresh Market locations (good fresh produce, great international products, a larger than typical meat and fish counter, and more). I don't think a Fresh Market could ever be my only grocery store; it's just too small to have everything I need when I shop. But it's a fun store to have in my rotation, because you find some gems and it's just a nice store to shop at. read more

It is a decent store, they have fresh produce and prepared foods. It isn't your typical grocery store, some things look and sometimes taste more fresh than from other stores. The register area and some prices are the cons. There are very few registers so when it is crowded it is going to take forever and they are more pricey than other places. read more

This is my first time visiting this chain of supermarkets. I don't live near one of these. So when traveling for business, I spotted one and decided to check it out. I had really high hopes. It's very gourmet and boutique-ish. It has low lighting, and you certainly feel that you stumbled upon something upscale and unique. This aspect did not disappoint. I circled around the store several times investigating each department. They certainly had a terrific assortment of high-quality merchandise. The prices were rather good for this type of establishment. The meats, poultry, fish, and seafood looked very fresh and of good quality. I grabbed myself a little prepackaged shrimp with cocktail sauce. It was decent. There was no indication on the package of where the shrimp came from. I'm guessing it was farm raised. I'm hoping it didn't have any chemical preservatives in It. It did not taste fishy & was cooked properly. The cocktail sauce didn't have any kind of kick to it. I found a prepackaged, by the store cut up fresh vegetable mix with a chunk of herb butter. I can't wait to try this. Some of the other convenience grab and go foods looked promising but they're only good for one serving. I needed multiple servings. They have a small deli department & a grab and go section. A lot of the prepackaged by the store deli meats had nitrates added to them. I prefer no preservatives and uncured. A store like this shouldn't have these chemicals in any of their foods. I ventured over to the bulk foods aisle and grabbed myself a small sampling. I got a scoop of wasabi oriental mix and a small sampling of the sesame sticks. Both products were stale. Since I only purchased a couple of ounces, I did not bring them back for return. I guess they don't sell a lot of these items. I did get a small scoop of the milk chocolate covered raisins, and they were fresh and had no chemicals in them. Purchased a single bakery croissant, albeit baked this morning was tasty and still relatively fresh. They had many brands that I find in other supermarkets. Here they had extended offerings of them. Should I find myself near one of these stores again I will definitely purchase something from their butcher area to try. Their produce offering was pretty expansive and looked very inviting. I don't think I would go out of my way to come back here but if it's in your neighborhood you might be happy to shop here. read more

I've always been curious about this place and decided to stop in. It's quaint and has the basics as well as specialty items. Seemed to be a health food type place, with lots of organic products and things like cauliflower chips, keto friendly foods. Very clean and well kept. The orchids on sale were healthy and all the flowers were vibrant. Sushi was so fresh and the sushi maker lady was helpful, she greeted me with a smile and even offered to custom make whatever I wanted. That's the first time I've ever been offered that option in a supermarket. So.. I went for the spicy tuna roll- it blew me away! I mean, buying supermarket sushi is like hit or miss, well let's be honest here. It's usually a big fat MISS, but not here! I'll be back for more. Five solid stars. read more

Oh my goodness! I have been to a couple other fresh market locations and I think this may be my favorite! It's so spacious, everyone is always so helpful, and I just love this atmosphere. I love how you can view the fresh meat section as soon as you walk in. It just jumps out at you. Regardless of what you came in for, you must go over to the fresh meat section and make a purchase. The hot bar is well laid out and pleasant and the deli has the freshest sliced lunch meats and the layout is just fabulous. This location has a fresh coffee bar as well! Brilliant right! The fresh fruit is fresh fresh! I love their fresh fruit and veggie section. I guess instead of listing every department let's just say the total package guys! This past week I just made a visit to visit their hot bar and it was oh so good. I had salmon, roasted wings and brussel sprouts. The perfect lunch for under $10. There was a personable and helpful young AA gentleman working hot bar who assisted me answering my 6.8K questions, all w a smile. I'm currently kicking myself for not capturing his name. I haven't visited this location a million times like I have the other locations but the few times I have visited and needed assistance, there's always been 1 to 2 people to help me immediately. I've even called on the phone to inquire about items and the customer service was just as great as if I was there. I will continue to support this Fresh Market location every time I'm in the area because I love the way I feel welcomed there and once I leave I'm always guaranteed quality items purchased. We were away over Thanksgiving, so I planned to prepare a belated dinner the Sunday after. I scoured several local grocery stores but there were only a few, frozen, pathetic looking turkeys left over. I usually make a trek to Howard County to purchase a fresh turkey directly from the farm. I stopped by the Fresh Market, and they had one fresh turkey, and it was a BIG one. I did not need a 22 lb turkey for three people but I bought it anyway. My husband proclaimed it to be the best turkey we ever had. We had a delicious dinner and plenty of leftovers for dinners and turkey soup. So goodbye long trip to the turkey farm and hello Fresh Market. You saved Thanksgiving! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I've never been in this store before today and I'll never go again. We had a basket containing about 6 items. Since there is no self check and no express lane, we got stuck behind a trio of full-cart-wielding shoppers. Then the cashier proceeded to slooooowly check and bag-- in between leaving the station several times. The 4th time he walked away (15 minutes into this wait) I ditched my basket and left. Based on what I saw today the target market is people who were already collecting Social Security at the Millenium. If this market want to appeal to any people who have better thongs to do than sit around waiting on grandkids that never visit, they might want to embrace self check. read more

Right now they have some amazing advent calendars that are just beautiful and would make great gifts. The veggies here are great too as well as their aisles of dry goods. I love that this store is here in Annapolis. They have items Giant, Whole Foods and Sams Club do not offer. They have a fabulous selection of spices, rubs, Asian foods and sauces/condiments. They also have an amazing bakery, butcher shop and produce department. They actually have chicken pieces behind the counter and you can buy it by the pound - you know, sort of like the old butcher shops. I bought my 86 year old mother a birthday cake from here last year. It was a chocolate type cake only available behind the counter. She still talks about it today as the best cake she's ever had. The deli counter is awesome...great chicken salad and coleslaw. They have specials daily - meal deals - where you can get a full pre-selected meal and all you need to do is cook it. Some items may be cheaper at Whole Foods, but you can point that out to the manager and maybe they will match the price....just maybe. read more

I say this with much respect for the quality of the food. When Fresh Market offers an item on sale (especially meats), you are getting prime foods at a genuinely good and sometimes great price. But it is difficult to overlook service when you are often paying a premium price. I don't know if it's intentional or not, but they often misplace shelf prices so that items ring up higher, sometimes much higher, than expected. The pastries appeared to be two for $6, but rang up at $4.99 apiece. Navel oranges had four different prices, it wasn't apparent which was which, and they were mixed with different codes in the same bin. Stood at the meat counter for several minutes before being noticed. There were three of us waiting before someone came to assist. Checkout was relatively quick today. I tend to compare this store to Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. Never have to wait to check out at Whole Foods. Trader Joe's is usually around 3-5 minutes. Fresh Market requires 10-15 minutes to check out normally. Yes, I always buy frozen stuff at Whole Foods and never ever ever at Fresh Market. read more

While i know many folks love this store, i have significant issues with their quality control. I recently returned a roast chicken that was quite dry, snd still had feathers (burnt)!. Prior to this, i returned rolls 1 day after purchase when i opened the package to find mold. Still another time, eggplant rollatine, usually made with ricotta cheese was made with feta! ( nit on the label. Considering the fact that they are more expensive than other stores, i would expect better quality! read more

I love this store, but this review is about the holiday meals. Not recommend ! I picked up a basic turkey meal for Thanksgiving, so excited not to cook, and got food that needed so much attention and still didn't taste good. Only the turkey breast was acceptable & I fixed it up too. It came in it's plastic manufacturer wrapping with no herbs or butter so I had to go to my neighbor's garden, pick some sage, wash & cut it & baste with the butter herb mixture to get some flavor in it during cooking. The dressing was disgusting with cubed carrots, yes carrots, a few onions, lots of wet, mealy texture bread glop & no celery or butter or any other oil. I had to pick out all the hard carrots, dice & saute celery & onions in a whole cube of butter & open a package of Pepperidge Farms cornbread dressing, mix it all in, then add in some of my neighbor's sage to make the dressing palatable. The green beans were nice but the butter seasoning was not. I threw our the beans after dinner. The mashed potatos were watered down & not good. I threw them out after we ate dinner. No leftover potatoes or green beans. The cranberry sauce was ok, but why add walnuts to cranberry sauce? Orange peel would have been fine. It was too sweet, however, many people like it sweet. We got just as much watery broth/gravy substitute as we did watery mashed potatoes. It tasted ok, though. If you want a good and traditional holiday meal, Fresh Market is not the place to order it. I did however appreciate the staff working on Thanksgiving so I could pick it up. I called the 800 # and spoke with someone about the terrible meal, but they said the food was made elsewhere, contracted out, & indicated that Fresh Market doesn't have standard recipes for their meals. Love coming here for the fresh foods and bakery. Everything is always so delicious. Especially love the big little meals, Sunday chicken deal ($15 for rotisserie chicken, 2 sides, and corn muffins), chicken salad (that comes with free croissants) and the guac. As the unofficial Mayor, for a few years now, I'm inviting you to try a few items, here which I find delightful. Have you tried the mini Chocolate Molten lava from the bakery? Or those Friday Date- Night Specials like, Chocolate covered strawberries and roses?? Or how about those Glass Jar soups: Creole vs. low country Gumbo??? Did you know catering platters are great, as is great and their Greek Pizza, spring rolls & chicken pot pies for a quick meal?!? Perhaps you caught that glorious crab cake special BOGO, for 20 bucks! And of course the meal deals which are such a steal. I've actually made friends here believe it or not. And the customer service is great, from the veterans who work the front end to 'Ms Lady' who works nights at the deli, and Bob in produce; if something is not right, they will correct it no problem; something to be said for that, along with the niche items, expanded offerings and freshness. It's my go to store. I've never had a bad experience here and if you request an item they will put it on the shelves! Management has been very accommodating if something was out and on sale; they will honor for future purchase. What more could you ask! read more

The Fresh Market opened at the Annapolis Harbour Center today. Yes, I was admittedly jazzed. Although the new WF is fancy shmancy, I haven't been getting a good vibe there lately. I've visited TFM several times in Baltimore, so I was familiar with the concept. Basically, it's several little "shops" together in one grocery store. You'll find the standard departments here--produce, floral, meat, seafood, dairy, prepared foods, bakery and grocery. TFM also carries several specialty items such as chocolates, candies and coffee. Overall, I find the produce at TFM to be of a higher quality than WF. There aren't as many of each item on display, but what you find is usually top-notch. As you all know, I'm all about organics for the kiddos, and this is important to me. There was an excellent selection of produce today. I've found all of the prepared foods to be fabulous. Try the crab dip on the house-made crispy french bread rounds. Because it was opening day, staff was plentiful, and there seemed to be quite a few suits from corporate! There were gobs of free samples in each department, and everyone seemed ready to roll. The store opened at 9, and when Squeaker and I arrived at 10, business was brisk. I'm not sure if WF is "worried" about the new competition, but I can see TFM siphoning off some of its business. read more

I had some time to kill before a class I was taking so I wandered through the store. I found cotton candy grapes - a little pricey - but aren't they all? I also found a couple of marinades that I hadn't seen before in regular grocery stores or Trader Joe's that I'm looking forward to trying. I bought the mini red velvet cupcakes in the bakery section because they looked so good - but when we got home and tasted them they didn't have a cream cheese frosting - talk about disappointing. I thought that was part of the red velvet experience? Also when I got home - the .50 coupon on one of the marinades was still on the bottle. The cashier hadn't taken it off or taken the .50 off my order. Not a big deal but mildly annoying. Overall the store is nice and has a variety of interesting products but it's definitely not a store I could afford to do my main grocery shopping at. read more

Some favs: the fresh flower assortment. fresh squeezed orange juice. sweet tea in a gallon (2 for $5). the scrumptious bakery selection. whole walnuts for my morning oatmeal. tahini for my hummus. fried green beans with sea salt. hey they're good. the friendly guy at the deli counter: "do you see anything you like in my case?" me: "why yes, yes I do...!" and the lady at checkout was really nice too and we shared our recipes. The Fresh Market is a foodie haven for sure but on the other hand a bit of a conundrum because they have a LARGE bulk candy section that isn't particularly healthy. I love to go and wander and they definitely have a good variety of many things. Their produce section is a sight to behold but the prices are significantly higher than those even at Whole Foods and this budget conscious shopper can't justify many of them. They have a GREAT meat counter and bakery. Their olive bar is comparable to the olive bars at other markets but no blue cheese stuffed olives in the midst. Given the price point, I am more apt to shop at Whole Foods or even drive to Wegman's but it is a fun place to wander and beautifully presented. read more

Awesome place for bulk flavored/unflavored nuts, dried fruit, candy, and dried veggie chips! The products are similar to Whole Foods, but they definitely have some local flair. The baked items are simply irresistible. I come here mostly during the fall to winter seasons when I start my baking madness. Vanilla bean pods, spices, different types of flour, you name it, they've got it! The produce section leaves a little to be desired, but the meat section seems to be a hit. There is always a line and the selections always look fresh. I'll give it a try and update my review one of these days! read more

I ordered instacart from this store only because they said that they had ranier cherries. They didn't. While most of the other fruit was good, I'm not sure the apricots will ripen. I also ordered a prepared salad. It came without dressing, which was a not-so-nice surprise when I tried to eat it for lunch. Do they think that people order to-go salads because they carry salad dressing around? I also got a California roll. I don't know WHAT was in that. It was utterly disgusting!!! One bit and I threw that away. I should have known better and stuck with Wegman's where I can count on quality. I estimate that I've thrown away about $50 worth of disgusting stuff from this store. read more

4.5 to 5 Star rating. I have relaced Whole Foods with TFM. Just amazing meat and seafood quality and prices day after day. I purchased a couple of steaks the other day and was blown away by the quality. Produce is fantastic and the prepared foods section isa much higher quality than Whole Foods. I noticed Whole Foods is copying and trying to top the spice section at TFM. Once again, not the store to purchase everything from but certaintly meat, seafood, bakery, coffee, produce and a few other items. Awesome store. read more

Usually I enjoy shopping in the store, I have been shopping in there 10 times a week at least every week for the last two years. Today there was a cashier name Mary working so by the time I get to the car had to re-bag everything everything was mixed up meat, seafood ,veggies. Customers do not like that. Super cute market but had to knock off a star because it's expensive! And because they lack in the organic produce. But everything looks so pretty and nice. Bakery section is yummy! I have gotten baked items even right before closing and it still tasted very fresh. Be prepared to want to buy everything but not want to pay the prices. Shop the sale items :) read more
