A new Trader Joe's in Bricktown opened up this past week. It's nicely laid out and very well lit. I don't feel there's enough parking places in its present location. I wanted to stop in after all those crowds swamped the place opening week. There are some superior brands, mostly not seen at your larger supermarkets and of course their own brand. Keep in mind TJ's is not a discount market. And don't expect to find beer and wine here cuz there are only two liquor licenses in NJ for Trader Joe's, Princeton and Westfield. read more

Affordable and quality groceries at a convenient location. Their frozen food is tasty and easy to cook. From birds nests to Kung pao chicken to beef and broccoli to Thai shrimp dumplings. Their bagels stay fresh for a while and are good for toasting. Not as big a fan of their raw meat as it is not consistently cut well and tends not to be the better cuts. The other big draw back is that many of the items that become your favorites either become seasonal or are just discontinued. Bring back the pulled barbecue brisket and the green onion pancakes. The long awaited Trader Joe's franchise has now opened a location in Brick! Opening day was crowded and lively! As advertised, there were samples, giveaway's and great sales going on. This store sells groceries at affordable prices. There are many unique and special finds that make this trip worthwhile. The store was clean, well organized, and managed excellently. For a new store, lines were moving quickly at checkout, and there were a number of employees available to help you through out the store. Shelves were well-stocked, and did not look disheveled or disorderly. Everything was well maintained and clean. The produce looked very fresh and well priced. I also found many new brands that I have never seen before, so you may find there are many items here to discover. Multiple trips may be necessary to look at everything this store has to offer. If you happen to be in the area, give this place a try. You may be surprised at the interesting products that this convenience store has! read more

I have been a TJ fan for 21 years and I could definitely say they are consistent!!! Their stores are ALWAYS clean, so clean!!!! They're customer service is excellent! How does this company always manage to hire the most helpful and upbeat employees.... at every story I have been to. I love how the stores are set up and I love TJ products! I can honestly say in all these years I have not found much I didn't like. Today was the first time I returned something and let me just say there was no hassle. They didn't keep me in a line, they didn't ask for a receipt, they didn't ask why I was returning the product. It was a quick, easy and friendly transaction. The reviews here crack me up. You know it's location and you already know the town. So if you're aware of how insane that area gets, which was long before TJ's, than why go there in the first place, just to complain all over again? Aside from this "Location", I personally enjoyed it and look forward to shopping here. I already knew it was more of a special store, so I won't complain about not being able to do my entire months worth of grocery shopping here. I liked that it had a variety of choices, and was extremely condensed, to the point that I could get in and get out and not feel overwhelmed for hours. The variety was great, BUT, I would like to see more of the items that are known to the typical TJ's. Perhaps this isn't so typical do to the fact that THIS ONE, is privately owned? All in all, I liked what they had and I'm in and out for the certain things that I need. read more

Went here finally, about a month+ after they opened, figuring most of the insanity / crowds would have died down by then. Well, apparently not. I've been to a few TJ's by now, notably the one in Shrewsbury, as well as a few of the locations that carry liquor. All of those locations are way bigger, and better laid out than this one. It's not that this store is *bad*, really, but it very clearly is not designed to handle even a fraction of the crowds that it gets, and I don't really get why they decided to build such a small location in a town like Brick, where demand for a TJ's has been high. Couple that with inconsiderate patrons who will leave their carts blocking entire aisles, and you're looking at a hell of a mess. I went mid-day on a Thursday that I had off work, and even then, I was pretty much unable to look at everything they had for sale, since the tight corridors and huge crowds end up making you feel rushed. Offerings here are typical of other Trader Joe's, so expect lots of organic / healthy foods, and a large freezer section with things like Indian food. The freezer stuff can be somewhat expensive, and it's not difficult to rack up a $100+ tab with even a small cart worth of stuff. Maybe I'm spoiled by competitors like Aldi, where I can buy enough food for a month and still not even come close to that sorta dough, I dunno. I will say that the quality of the frozen stuff here is a step above most others, at least. Decent cheese selection, also. In all honesty, Trader Joe's isn't bad, it just isn't a place that I'd consider a true "grocery store". For things like sodas or seltzer, or other common household items, you're likely going to have to shop elsewhere. Sure, they have those things here, but usually an incredibly small selection, and while not 'pricey', not exactly 'cheap' either. I will say that staff here are friendly and helpful, which is always a plus. My advice? Go to Aldi's (or your favorite grocery store) for your main shopping, and hit up Trader Joe's if you want organic produce, or unique and tasty snacks / frozen foods. Great for frozen quick weeknight meals or snacks for parties, though I don't really see myself coming here all too often, especially with how downright awful the parking lot / interior layout is. read more

been to many tj's, the cashiers in this store are very friendly to welcome and greet me - until I want to start some casual conversations with them. I was in contact with two cashiers and they both have one thing in common: they were trained well to say those greetings with the smile and warm tone, but they don't want to say anything else with you, as if they were programmed. There are two possibilities: either they don't really care about you, don't give a damn about how excited you said you are about an item that is restocked, or they are just incapable of doing some ad-lib conversations except for the pre-scripted ones. Last but not least, I remember one time her face just turned totally flat right after a "smile". But yeah, I guess i'm asking for too much. Back to the origin of all these thoughts: I was trying to tell the cashier I like this store because I found my favorite restocked items here that seem to be missing in other locations :( read more

I stopped into Trader Joe's yesterday. Their grand opening was Thursday so I expected the place to be a madhouse. Boy was I right. I pulled into Brick Plaza and the whole front parking lot near Chipotle was filled. Once I actually got to the Trader Joe's lot you literally couldn't move. They should've had someone directing traffic honestly. The store seemed like it was rushed to be built and executed very poorly. The isles were organized oddly - the display of cookies and sweets were above the freezer cases. The store is super small compared to the Shrewsbury location with about 7-8 isles in total. The staff was very friendly and helpful and there were some options that caught my eye. There was a guy arguing with an employee about them being sold out of a lot of things, but I didn't really notice. Great organic and gluten free selection! read more

I visited this market to check it out, well after the opening gala. I purchased fruits and veg and was pleased with my choices...until I arrived home and unpacked them. The fresh raspberries were slimy and mushy and the juices leaked all over the bag, strawberries were moldy under the top layer. Maybe I picked the wrong day as the produce was definitely on its last legs. I won't be getting produce here, anymore. The staff was very friendly and helpful in helping locate certain items. I have to give Trader Joe's props for implementing strict social distancing rules well before the bigger chains did. Not only that but they managed to keep their shelves stocked and their store clean during a time of total madness. It's always a pleasure to shop at TJ's but now it's a much safer pleasure. As one amid the numerous specialty markets in the country, Trader Joe's offers their non-mainstream brand varieties of goods to a somewhat non-mainstream peculiar customer base. We are not pleased with the dismal void of holistically focused products, the brash irritating in-store music, and unhealthy lighting. This store opened this week and I swore I wouldn't go so soon after opening but it was 11 am on a Thursday so how many people could be shopping right? Wrong. If you know anything about this area of town you know there are a lot of older folks with scooters and walkers and there are a lot of families with many kids. The store was packed with both groups of people making it hard to get up to the shelves. The store is beautiful and the staff is plentiful and very friendly. They were giving out tastes of their Pancake break which really is amazing. Only went in there for produce and it was nice but the selection wasn't as good as some other stores. They did have Brussels sprouts on the stalk which I don't see often. They have a nice assortment of appetizers and cheeses, flowers, and organic products. The store is set up in such a way that there are support pillars near the registers which sometimes makes for a bad flow of customer traffic. I gave the store three stars because it's not the place I can do my entire weeks shopping in. They have some products that are very different than you find in other stores (potato chips from the Andes mountains) but not the products I need. read more

I'm giving it a 3 star because it's still very new. A lot of foods were almost expired or expired on the shelves. That was a big no no for me. I usually go to TJ in Westfield, it's a couple of miles from my house, which is convenient and I think it's the best TJ around. I was excited that they opened one in Brick as well, I'm always in Brick on weekends and I LOVE BRICK!! So hopefully it gets better, I plan to visit again soon and hopefully things chang for the better. Good luck!! read more

I went to Trader Joe's today in Brick for the first time. I really don't see the tight parking others have written in their reviews. The parking is fine. The store layout is ok. I have 4 stars only because the ground beef was $9.99/lb plus I didn't see any meatball mix ie. beef pork veal together in one package. Otherwise I had a pleasant experience. I've always had a great experience at TJ's...especially during covid. I wish that other stores were as clean as them. They wipe all the carts down, they never let too many people in the store at one time (which I hope they continue to do even after the pandemic. Prior to the pandemic, it was entirely too crowded and you had to reach your arm through people to grab something from a freezer...annoying)...They seem to not get as many items as other TJs, but overall, great produce, well priced, and unique finds! The staff has always been knowledgeable about items they do or don't have. Of course, the occasional young cashier has an attitude, but I mean, they probably would rather be anywhere else haha. read more

Contrary to other reviews I've never had a problem in the parking lot (always able to find a spot no more than 30 feet from the door) and I never find it to be overwhelmingly crowded. I am there at least once a week after 6pm. About two weeks after opening the crowds died down as I'm sure some of the hype fizzled. it's definitely not as big as other TJ's but I've been able to find most of my favorite TJ's items and the staff is incredible. So happy to have one so close to home! read more

Trader Joe's of Brick Twp. is phenomenal! You will find many organic, gluten free, healthy foods, healthy snack foods that you will never find in other large chain retailers. The prices are low and affordable, and there's a huge variety of merchandise. Every time I go in to Trader Joe's I usually buy a few more things than I went in for and still manage to stay in budget! There's always something new to try at Trader Joe's. From picky/stubborn eaters, adventurous eaters, to people who will eat anything, there's a large variety of different food products for everyone here! I'm not going to lie, I am a picky eater and often find myself in Trader Joe's willing to buy something new to try. If you have a busy crazy schedule and food shop for several days at a time this is where you need to shop! The pre-made salads, sandwiches, and wraps are always fresh and many days away from their expiration date. The associates working in Trader Joe's always are happy to help, always have smiles on their faces, and never let anything stop them! read more

The best think about this store is the paper shopping bags with handles. Oh I love them. Good customer service. Nice produce at good prices. But almost ALL of the prepared foods are not good with the exception of the potato pancakes. Yes the parking spaces are small, but I don't hold the store accountable. read more

I thought it was pretty nice! Unique selection of products. The only downfalls I'd say there are is the parking lot is way too small and the store is pretty small too. It makes roaming the store a tad difficult, especially if it's a day where it's both crowded and busy. I can't imagine how it'd be like for the holidays. read more
