New food review for Trader Joe's! This one's part of my ongoing mission to hit every single Trader Joe's in Orange County and LA and try as many items as I can. Today it's the Turkey Gobbler Wrap. This wrap is packed with roast turkey breast, stuffing, cranberries, and cream cheese, all rolled up in a wheat tortilla. You also get this thick gravy-style dipping sauce on the side that's the best part. It pulls the whole thing together and makes it taste like a full Thanksgiving plate in every bite. You get a savory turkey and stuffing combo experience, then the sweet-tart cranberry cuts through, and the cream cheese adds that smooth, tangy layer. The tortilla's soft and wraps it all in nicely. If you're into holiday flavors or just want a grab-and-go bite that gives off serious comfort food vibes, this one is for you. This Trader Joe's seems smaller but it's really just a narrower, rectangular layout. Noticed few plants and flowers outside; bigger section inside. They also sell flower bags that I don't see at every location. Nice, helpful staff like all TJ's. The card section is small, a revolving rack. Parking is limited but there's only one other open business sharing space with it. read more

I've shopped here for 20 years. Recently I've needed to use portable oxygen & a walker, so now I use their mobile cart to shop. Today someone was using the cart and said they'd be a while, according to Steve, the Manager. I planned to wait in my car, but Steve offered to do my shopping ! He made a list, took my TJ bags, shopped and packed everything up. I almost cried. I've always been a loyal customer, but Steve just took it to the next level. I can't thank him enough. This store is my local favorite for sure! Now, I saw a funny reel on insta that had 2 men walking out of a Trader Joe's talking to camera saying " we have to go to another grocery store " to buy all the things that Trader Joe's didn't have!!! I guffawed and nodded in agreement... I am happy to supplement my food shopping by going to up to 3 stores! No biggie! Anyway, today I ran in for a few items when I overheard a conversation between a customer and the woman at the register discussing TJ's 40spf mineral sunblock ... definitely interested me and I asked them about the product! Well, I was convinced. I bought it especially bc I need to wear sunblock for my swimming exercises 4 times a week... can't wait to try ...& this is why I love this store. People who work here are engaging and so helpful! And I was told if I wasn't happy with this sunblock, I could return it... no offense to my people At Ralph's, but no one ever talks to me about nor suggests any products ... please don't think I am being disrespectful bc I appreciate everyone who works in this industry! Like 90% of the produce here is moldy, leaky or mushy. You don't even notice til you get home, I've started checking everything as much as I can but geez this shouldn't be an issue. All the meat looks sus as well. They're really not keeping anything cold enough and it's a health issue. Honestly hope the health department takes a look bc I swear I've gotten sick recently from using their meat/produce. read more

My very favorite store. I've been shopping here since it was Pronto Market in the 1960's. In fact, I can even remember when there was a vegetable stand for local gardeners at this location. Trader Joe's carries a wide variety of products and produce at fair prices. The staff is familiar and friendly, so one feels like they are shopping with family. read more

I don't know why I keep coming to this store. I don't know why I'm reviewing it. I don't know why I do a lot of stuff. Nothing's ever new here, nothing's ever on sale, its the same stuff over and over until infinity. It's not particularly good tasting, it's not cheap even though stuff from Trader Joe sounds like it would be. And it's not organic. I just don't get it. People keep shopping here like this store just came out. I do too, but I just leave disappointed and confused every time that it's always extremely just the same as it always is. I leave with nothing and remember I didn't want anything last time I came either. Oh well. Four stars because it's not their fault I guess. I like this one! Since there are about 2-3 Trader Joe's close by, I decided to try this one first. What made this easy initially is the parking; there was plenty of it and it wasn't as crazy as most locations. What helps is the business that was also in this area (I guess it was a bank) is no longer open, so all the parking is simply for Trader Joe's. The layout took some getting used to as any new store does, but I was able to locate what I needed quickly. They were out of a couple things I wanted, but it wasn't a big deal. Guy at the checkout was really nice, and I was quickly on my way. Still going to check out the other one located nearby, but I see myself returning to this one sooner than later! read more

Worst curried chicken salad in the world! All carbs and no chicken. Stay away from this stuff. And by the way, the recipe on this has changed because they used to put nice big chunks of chicken and now there are no chunks and just a tiny bit of chicken. I think I counted 15 soggy cashew nuts instead. All filler, no chicken. read more

Is it just me or are all of the Trader Joe's employees super unfriendly/judgy? I've been a handful of times & never am I welcomed nor receive any smiles. (Not to say all TJs employees must smile) I can't make this up but I swear they make me feel like I have shit on my face or I am a robber trying to steal the groceries...or I'm just really, ridiculously good looking. Seriously! Each time I'm here the employees follow me thru the isles & spy on me non-discreetly. && I'm a very friendly looking person. It's happened too many times for me to play the paranoid card. Either way, I don't feel welcome nor comfortable AT ALL shopping here. EX: When I was checking out, I tried making conversation w the cashier which was difficult cause he was deeply talking to another employee about readheads and how soon they'll be nonexistent. Lol. They literally stared at me until I made first contact. I don't feel like it should be my job to say hello. He finally opened up, we were talking about chips and then suddenly, halfway through my sentence, he turns around and starts talking to another employee! I just said thanks (to myself) and left. I have zero desire to frequent this Trader Joe's. The one down the street is much friendlier. I was going to give three stars because they have cinnamon brooms (!!!) and a lot of them, but I'm giving two because they have severely expired produce. Some lettuce dates expired 2 weeks ago. With all those Trader Joe's employees chatting it up and staring at customers why don't they stare at the expiration dates and do their fucking job...? read more

Most Trader Joe's are about the same ; I'm usually happy with them. The challenge with this store is difficult parking. The lot is small and the stalls are narrow. Getting in and out from either National or Westwood can be difficult at times. It's also a smaller store - or it seems. A convenient location near the residential area so always lots of people! Checking out may take a while. All and all not a bad store, just expect some hustle and bustle when you shop here. read more

I really like this particular Trader Joe's, and go out of my way to shop here despite being closer to 2 other stores. For some odd reason this TJ's seems to be in stock of items other stores are always out of. Was pleasantly surprised to find the Kimbap at this location when i've never seen it at other locations, on top of that they had the Lambrusco in stock when it's out of stock at nearby stores. The manager on duty, Rueben (hope I spelt that right) went above and beyond for me today, and I wanted to write a review to thank him. Overall, this TJs is great, with a decent selection, plenty of cashiers/low wait time to check-out, and the only drawback is the parking; Los Angeles Trader Joe's notoriously suck when it comes to parking, so I won't hold it against them. Monday, I stopped into this TJs for lunch, and I inadvertently left my wallet. After looking at home, my car, my job, I hadn't found it! Then my parents received a call from TripleAAA, who received a call from Rueben, the manager, relaying to them I had lost my wallet. I only had credit cards/debit cards and gift cards, and my TripleAAA card. It was the only way that someone could find someone to contact me personally, and they reached out to the primary on my account (mom/dad) who called me and scolded me for leaving my wallet at Trader Joes. Extremely long story short, Rueben went above and beyond to make sure I got my wallet back, and it had everything in there (of course!). TJ's, thanks for having my back. Friendly reminder before coming in: As the sign out front says, @8-9am is for senior shoppers only! :-) This seems like a smaller Trader Joe store, but it is easy to come in and out and get what you need - especially with lots of convenient parking! I was searching for a seasonal, frequently out of stock item (ube pancake mix - highly recommend) and was happy to find it in stock! At checkout, all the staff was very friendly and conversive! Not coming back to this location again based off of my uncomfortable experience today! I went in with my service dog in training (4 months old), whom was acting perfectly fine and staying quiet etc. The person who I assume was the manager on duty walks up to me and says "Excuse me, we don't allow dogs in here." I tell him that he is a service dog. He replies with "He's a puppy. " in a condescending tone. Then he asked what services he supplies, which (while I know it is legal to ask) was super uncomfortable for me to give the answer for in front of other customers! The pup was not causing any trouble at all either. Super uncomfortable experience that has made me not want to come to this location anymore. Have some tact! read more

Traders used to have the freshest and reportedly best fruit. As of late I am very disappointed to say that the melons have consistently been tasteless,; the melon in the fruit boxes is often underripe. Apricots and peaches thus far in the season, less than tasty. Grapes: depends on ur luck. Cherries were also disappointingly bland. I find that most of the vegan dishes are very spicy. As I am allergic to Chile peppers and peppers in general, I am thus excluded from taking part in most of the vegan or vegetarian dishes as most of them are spiced up with pepper. read more

Can't say enough about Trader Joes. Joe and Alice Coulombe founded the place and made it a sensation base on spending time on vacation in Europe and finding things that may become wildly popular in the US market. 2 bucks chuck was one of those items. Another thing Trader Joes does it right is SERVICE. Shopping at Trader Joes is like buying stuffs from a friend who always has a smile on his or her face and ask how you're doing. Generally the people who work in this store are kind and friendly... and maybe the craziness has been too much for some employees. Today a cashier scolded me for coming up "too soon" to the register... and as soon as I stepped back into the little circle, she said "Okay, you can come forward" She proceeded to talk to the young man who was bagging my groceries about me "I just hate it when THEY rush us". A couple of things: A) I can hear you... even if I have a mask on B) if my groceries are rung up and bagged, aren't we ready to proceed with payment? What else is there to wait for...unless it's just a power trip. I know these are rough times. You don't need to make them worse. Do better. read more

I've never been to this Trader Joe's. I've actually not been to many Trader Joe's but thought I'd give it a try. It was a much smaller Trader Joe's than I had been to but that was on. I picked up 4 items and went to the cashier. I was what I thought next in a check out line. I'm waiting my turn and the cashier goes to a lady behind me and say., we only have one line over there. Stopped off at this TJ's at the corner of Westwood Blvd and National to pick up some mozzarella. I'm hooked on their "Ovolini" (Italian slang for 'little eggs'). Big chunks of creamy white mozzarella floating in water. (You hafta keep it in water or it dries out.) Also picked up some produce. Very convenient, small amounts of veggies in plastic wrapped packages, all picked out for you, only the good pieces. Also like their roasted almonds without salt. A good snack food, protein. The parking lot can get pretty crazy but in the middle of the day it was a snap. Everyone here is very friendly and helpful. read more

This TJ's is one of the newer stores. Clean, open layout. Good parking access shared with Chase Bank. This location has been here for ions. Nice variety, well kept, well stocked, no empty shelves, Metro cafe with bunch of samples. Easy in and out as usual. Lots of flowers and plants. Bought 1/2 dz baby roses only $2 bucks each. What I can't believe is that this, one of our all time favorite places draws such a negative review-here's the thing-a store is only as good as its products, and of course the people there, and they are truly great people-BUT... Last year they discontinued something that thousands objected to, and was a weekly item for me; this year they did the unthinkable-the cornbread crisps are no longer available-perhaps they said "seasonal" so we have opportunists buying them out and upselling on Amazon-truly truly disgusting. Worse this item is SO popular they simply could care less that folks who spend upwards of 5K a year shopping there, are now looking elsewhere-myself, yes i found them somewhere else by someone else, and I hope they're even better! Love this place! I can always count on them to have amazing food and friendly service! I come here regularly to shop for foods/snacks etc. which btw the pumpkin pancake mix is sooo goood! Their ice cream and other desserts are pretty bomb as well--I've tried the cookie sandwich, mango sherbet, Bon bons, mini pies, among others I can't think of right now but definitely come here for great value and service. I like this particular location because they always have what I need in stock and there are plenty of parking, though it can get really congested during the rush hour traffic times/evening. We obviously have been shopping a lot lately at all the local markets. Although the brief back to freely indoor restaurant dining came and went ~ the mainstays of our daily meals is still dominated by the Ralphs, TJ's ~ whole foods/sprouts triangle. Some weeks, it's a trifecta. We're back to normal in that regard. Certain items from Ralphs, certain from TJ's for example, they are the only place I know that carries salt free tortilla chips. Why? Dunno. I highly recommend trying those btw. You'll never miss that unnecessary extra sodium. Trust me. Anywho, why no 5 magic stars for TJ's then you ask? Well, i think I've mentioned it before. I KNOW it's a pandemic, I realize there's supply chain issues from time to time, but y'all, there's a weird absence of some very very common items. White mushrooms? Tons of brown, organic white, e.t.c even eggs, tons of specialty ones, which I'm partial to btw. Dark yellow yolks taste great, totally worth it. As are the fun double yolks. Yesterday it was the tried and true Basil Marinara Spaghetti sauce. No biggie for me because I made my own from scratch using the bumper crop of tomatoes we had... turned out waaaayyy better than anything jared. I Even froze some to share, it was that good. The empty spaces on the shelves kinda spooks me a bit, flash back to the early runs on staples from March 2020... when literally entire stores were empty. It reminds me we're not quite out of the woods and that bums me out a tad. Stiff upper lip and all that, but by comparison, Ralphs and WF's/Sprouts dont seem to have as often the gaps in shelved product... is it just me? Hope things right themselves soon. If I ever need to go back to my office everyday, there's no way I can keep making things from scratch.... the bread machine gathering dust in the corner should keep doing just that. This Trader Joe's is handling COVID-19 particularly well. Plenty of parking. They have a team of 3 people constantly cleaning carts outside, which reassured me as a customer. They have a much shorter line outside, and placed one-direction aisles to avoid people clustering. I passed the pack of almonds I was looking for, and a TJs employee was kind enough to go and get it for me. The line for checking out was evenly spaced out, and the customer waits behind a taped line until after the checkers have bagged everything. You only go up to the register to pay, so you can tell that this location really cares about social distancing. I will be coming to this location from now on. read more

This is a great little Trader Joe's. I mean, they're all great, but some are better stocked than others. While this one is physically in a smaller building, I had no trouble finding everything I wanted, and then some. Usually, trader joes is pretty lax on the fruits, but this one had fruit coming out of its ears (and now, coming out of my fridge!). Probably the worst Trader Joe's that I've ever been to. To start, the parking lot is SMALL. If you go after work (5:30 p.m.) like me, expect there to be a fight in the parking lot for a stall. Despite there being two parking lot attendants, people are aggressive to get one of the few precious parking stalls. The store is actually a bit smaller than most Trader Joes. I thought everything was nicely displayed and there was a good selection of items. What turned me off the most at this store was Ms. Clerk (mixed race? employee with black straight shoulder length hair) who checked me out. I got a new credit card with the chip on it. I didn't know how to use it in their terminals. The cashier asked me to insert my card and I did. I pulled it out immediately and she sternly told me that I wasn't supposed to do that. I saw on my display that the charge went through and I questioned her. She literally scolded me 3-4 times, telling me that I wasn't supposed to pull out my card and that she had to ring up my entire order because I didn't know what I was doing. Felt like a 5 year old. I tried to get her name but her name badge wasn't apparent. Nasty. I shop at this particular Trader Joe's location at least 5 times a week because the staff is the friendliest and most helpful of the four Trader Joe's stores around my area. Not so today, however. The female associate who rang up my purchases (my receipt shows "James L.") never said a word to me, not a "hello," a "thank you," or a "come again." Very out-of-character for the sales associates at this location--I've never seen this associate at this location and I hope future new-hires won't be as unfriendly. read more
