Zion Market is one of my favorite Korean markets! They have really affordable prices on produce. There are always rotating specials at the front of the store. Their marinated galbi short ribs are delicious, their marinade tastes like restaurant quality. There's also a good selection of marinated meats. They also serve hot foods like Korean fried chicken, kimbap, fried rice, and japchae located towards the back of the store. There's also a good selection of banchans, and I love their kimchi. The store is clean and well stocked. The lines for registers tend to move fast. Parking is free for two hours in the structure with validation. Don't forget to download their app to earn points on every purchase for discounts. read more

I went to Zion Market with my mom on Sunday afternoon, March 15th. I had just come back from going out and ran into my mom in front of the elevator, and she asked me to go to the market with her. But honestly, this place is absolutely terrible and horrible. Both my mom and I agreed that we will never come back here again. My mom had come to get a refund because one of the pears she bought the day before was completely rotten. The market manager refunded $2 to her credit card, which was fine. The real problem started after that. When my mom was trying to drive out of the parking lot, the gate bar went up after scanning the parking ticket, but then suddenly came crashing down. If my mom hadn't quickly backed up, it could have hit her car. The bigger issue was that after that, the gate bar never went back up again. Cars behind us had to use another exit nearby. My mom, who was very shaken, went to ask the market manager what to do, but she said she didn't know. (At first, I stayed in the car and had to tell the cars behind us to use the other exit because the gate was not working). I was very upset when I heard that, so I went inside and asked the manager for the building management's contact number. She gave me a number, but when I called, the person who answered kept saying she couldn't find the address even after I repeated it more than ten times. Eventually, she told me they no longer manage that building. So I asked her to provide the contact number for the property management that handles the building, and she gave me another number. but it led to an automated system. After selecting the emergency option, a man answered, but even after I clearly spelled out "Zion" multiple times (Z as in Zebra, I as in Ice cream, O as in Oscar, N as in Nancy), he still couldn't understand and then told me that they no longer manage the building and hung up. We arrived at the market around 5 PM and didn't get out until 7 PM. No one helped us at all. After the call, I went back to the market manager again, but she still said she didn't know anything. It made me so angry--how can a manager not even know the property management contact for the building they work in? I also have low blood sugar, so when I get hungry, I start shaking. I ended up buying a piece of bread from the Paris Baguette inside the market. I didn't have cash with me, so I had to pay $3.50 with my card, but thankfully, the staff there was very kind. In the end, my brother had to come all the way from Burbank to get a new parking ticket for us so we could finally get out--after two hours. If he hadn't come, we might have been stuck there even longer or had to abandon the car. Thinking about it now still makes me extremely angry. The customer service is terrible, the building management is a mess, and there was no security at all. I never want to come back to this place. We spent two hours there, from 5 PM to 7 PM, completely wasting our time. Because of this, I couldn't do anything I had planned for the rest of the afternoon and evening. It was an absolute nightmare. My mom was also very upset and couldn't believe a place like this exists. FYI) Every time I come to this market, there is absolutely no cell phone signal., which is another major downside. read more

Loved my first experience here! It's very organized, clean, and lots is restocked during your visit. The fruits and produce sales are unlike any other grocery store. I got all of the tomatoes pictured below for just $8 and three bundles of green onions for $1. Crazy good deals here. The samples are also amazing. The Zion market is located on the ground level of the commercial and residential building. Parking is a bit confusing, and it's very easy to go to the resident parking entrance according to the map address. You need to drive up the steep hill and park on the second level, and then take the elevator down to the grocery store. Parking is free for the first hour, then $2 every 15 minutes. The grocery store is relatively small in the scale, although it carries most vegetables, fruits, meat, seafood, snacks, and deli etc. you'll expect from a Korean market, with affordable prices. I love Zion Market and I'm so happy it relocated to this new location in the 'hood. It's so convenient and has become my favorite Korean supermarket! If you haven't been to Zion Market, now is a great time to try it because they are doing a LABUBU GIVEAWAY EVENT! haha They're so hot right now and giving 1 away a day with a special Zion Market shirt on~~ so kawaiiiiii^^~ Other than fun promos, this store always feel less busy than competing spots. Their parking garage is a bit easier to navigate than competitors, as well. Parking under 1 hour is FREE in the garage! But note, even 5 minutes over will cost you! It is minimal but I've been over 5 minutes a couple times and then you DO have to pay. It's just $2, but good to keep in mind. Sales switch on Thursdays and I like following their deals via their app which also serves as your store discount card. Zion always has everything I need - using the term loosely because I also buy more snacks than any human could possibly want here, I hardly 'need' them. haha :) Keep an eye on end caps for sales, as well! I got black tea hydrogel eye patches for $1.99 today for 20! Great deal and I use these daily. Things are usually well stocked but I have seen items on sale, sell out often. Everything is always clean, with staff always keeping the store organized and clean - definitely good attention to detail here. Great prices and health on the fruits & veggies, as well. Organized, good prices and good selection - just a higher quality Korean market. Zion Market has a few other businesses sharing space with them~ There is a Paris Baguette stocked full of fresh goods. A few tables if you want to sit at but their selection is always surprisingly fresh & vast. Concerto Bakery & Coffee is inside Zion - iykyk. An ahjeema clothing store, bless them. A little pharmacy. First hour parking is free. The place is spacious and clean. Plenty if vegetables and fruits. Price wise? Similar to other markets. It's my firat visit to Zion Market. For some reason, this market doesn't feels right yet. Not my 1st choice of market. But doesn't mean it's no good. Just bot familiar with the store. Will definitely come back and try it again. Some stray perks: It's got validated parking in K-Town (so necessary) After 7 PM everything is 5% off The kalbi is not expensive and when you throw it on a grill you get some restaurant-grade stuff Watermelon is solid Lots of interesting desserts (to me, at least, as a regular of Ralphs and TJ's) Can get some other shopping done in the area Relaxed ambiance (and little traffic) after 8 as well My advice? Go on a Sunday or Monday night after traffic dies down around 8, get all the groceries you need (at 5% off) and think about how much of a genius you are at meal prep. 4.5 stars This is my first time shopping at Zion Market and I'm pretty impressed with it. There were some really good deals on fresh produce, pantry essentials, and frozen food today. The aisles were nice and spacious and there's 1 hr free parking for the grocery store. Parking is located on the 2nd floor and the spaces are big. Overall, a very comfortable shopping experience. We were walking around K-town and came here after we tried Out of Ordi which is just across the street. The market is new and located on the first floor of an apartment building and there was a Paris Baguette inside which was very clean. I wasn't going to get anything but once I saw the produce prices (so cheap), I got some veggies and fruits and got to sample some ramen noodle. Overall, place is very clean and there wasn't a long line and service was quick. read more

3525 W. 8th! When I moved to LA, this space was a different giant Korean supermarket (Assi Market). Then LA's wrecking ball took over. Now it's a brand new Zion Market with 400 Rise Korea luxury apartments on top. LA's Zion Market has also moved a lot. It started at City Center on 6th Street, then moved to its own building at 888 S. Vermont, then moved again to this, its current location. And it's awesome. Up the Zion ramp to tons of free parking. At the market level, a dozen shops are cheduled to open around the just-opened Paris Baguette (which followed Zion from the Vermont location). Hard to go wrong with a market that's new new new. Everything is so well-displayed in new cabinets and cases. Like most Korean markets, exceptionally low prices on fruits and vegetables. The good: This Korean market was pristine! All of the shelves were neatly organized with all of the bottled and jars facing forward and pulled to the front. It was the most immaculate grocery store I've ever seen. The bathrooms were clean too. The meat and fish section didn't smell. The prepared foods and pickled vegetables were so nicely packaged with uniform appearances. They had a fill your own box with grains or rice section. The bad: The clothing store I saw selling aprons wasn't open when I came. The interesting: They have other shops by the front of the market that include a clothing shop and Paris Baguette. read more

It's been awhile since I been here to shop. On a Saturday 8am morning in April, we drove up to parking garage and see the ticket machine. The 1st free hour then every minute is $2. Today, the Zion had very good fruit and vegetable deals. It was too early for fried chicken. They had a bag of chicken skins and 10pieces of chicken wings. Next to it, they have lots of banchan items. The aisles are clean and wide. There was 2 cashiers so it was fast. More people came after we left before the hour. read more

i've only been to the zion market in irvine so i was delighted they opened one closer to me!! garage parking free for 1 hour which is enough time to get all my checklist items & not get distracted & linger for too long in the snack aisle! i enjoy how clean & well lit the market is. they have a decent variety of produce & korean products, & typically at a more affordable price than hmart. however i do think hmart takes the cake for more items & availability of products. read more

Came here 9.16.24 It's soft opening but grand opening will be in late October it seems? The deli is not open yet, no seafood at all except for a few sashimi trays The parking has not signage where the elevators are and unclear where to exit. It's easily 1/2 or even worst 1/3 of the size of the previous Zion market in Ktown. The produce prices are still good but the cleaniness is still top notch and bright and airy feel. They didn't have any of those grab and go lunch trays either which is unfortunate. It still looks like they were installing shelves on the wall and getting items fully stock on certain aisles. However the limited inventory was still very well priced. I will come back once grand opening finally kicks in at late October 2024. read more

i love zion market! it's so hard to find a grocery store with good prices and fresh produce where I live so I drive out to this market. Some helpful tips: there is a parking structure. the first hour is free and after that you pay. BUT Zion market validates so you can get a second hour for free. To validate, just bring your parking ticket to the cashier when you check out. this branch DOES take EBT which is so nice! The grocery store is clean and well-maintained with so much produce (SOOO much I absolutely love it since the sale items are all seasonal produce and high quality, make sure you know how to pick your produce so you can get the best quality ones, I usually meal prep my fruits and veggies for the week and these all hold up really well) Downloading the app! If you regularly shop here the points build up pretty fast, especially if you're buying your proteins here. The weekly sale refreshes every Thursday. The app also says you can get a 5% off discount after 8 pm! (this is also nice because traffic dies down by then) If you are a college student or a remote worker I suggest going to a cafe to work during the day and going grocery shopping at night! there's plenty of cafes in ktown with free parking! read more

There are also ready meals that just require reheating as well as fun snacks and desserts that may be a appealing. There are some shared retail spaces slowly developing alongside this market. There is a parking garage alongside this store but I'm unsure about the rates or discounts. It's a mixed use building and the upper floors are housing units. read more

This new location is a smaller than the old spot but nonetheless still has amazing deals. I cannot help but go aisle by aisle to take in all the sales. Produce here is priced so unbelievably cheap and quality is so fresh and clean. Huge lemons, 5 for $0.99 - 3 bundles of spinach $0.99. Customer service here is great. Parking structure is brand new, spacious- endless spots. Signs say bring a cart with you but they have some at the entrance. One hour is free, if you go over it is $2 per 15 minutes. read more

I come here more often than the other Korean markets (H Mart, California, Galleria). Staffs are comprised mainly of senior Koreans who are very sweet and helpful. read more

Zion used to have amazing banchan when the Hwang family matriarch was alive. I'm biased because I grew up in San Diego, and even worked at Zion Market for a year when they moved from the small market on Convoy to a larger location on Mercury Street. I would eat the food regularly as an employee, and I continued to shop there for years afterward. The expectation for the amazing food lowered after she passed away. I moved to LA and when the Zion Market opened up in City Center on 6th, many things were no longer the same, but I could still expect a high amount of quality. Then the move to Vermont Avenue. It was still Zion at heart, but the banchan began to lose its luster and it was a lot more generic. Regardless, it still tasted great. I've been to this new Zion location a few times, and I've watched as the food from Chef Kang in the refrigerated case seems to just sit on the shelves. Now I know why: The food is rather lackluster. The flavors are misbalanced, and rather bland. I have tried several of the banchan and I've walked away disappointed each time. The containers are difficult to open because they're made of disposable plastic that is heat sealed. While very cute and reminiscent of Korea, the overall look is not great, and the presentation of the packaging is rather haphazard and inconsistent. Nothing looks impressive, and the flavors match the packaging. Everything is somewhat underseasoned and some things are even gummy. In particular, the burdock root, the lotus root, the perilla leaf kimchi, and the marinated eggs were disappointing. If you're an elder person who needs a low salt diet and you don't care much for flavor, I suppose the side dishes here are passable. If you have a discerning palate, look elsewhere. There's a reason the food isn't moving. It doesn't look like this Zion location is going to have enough business to sustain itself either. It's truly the end of an era where H Mart has taken over and places like this can't compete. My heart is breaking because I have such an emotional attachment to Zion Market. read more

Was bummed when the other zion market closed because it was closer, but I'm glad I found this new one. They have a lot of stuff but it feels smaller some how. I personally prefer their previous location off Vermont, but Zion Market never disappoints. There is always a sale (whether with produce, meats, snacks, or frozen foods), and it's nicely maintained. This particular location is located in the same building as an apartment complex, and for some reason, it feels a tad smaller than other Zion Markets I've been to. The parking lot is a little compact to navigate, so be careful when driving because Ktown drivers are something else. I was able to find two elevators to the ground level market itself, but one of them was out of order while the only working one was really slow. I do enjoy their app where you can scan your receipts and save points for rewards. read more

Zion Market finally opened up their new Ktown location right beneath Rise Apartment. It is smaller than the previous location in Vermont but it still has an airy and spacious vibe. They are still at their soft opening stage so they don't have much at their hot food, seafood, and banchan section but their produce and meat sections are pretty fresh with a wide range of selections. They sell Chef Kang's food such as galbi jjim, soups, etc. which was a surprise and I had to try it out. I bought a galbi jjim which was only $16 for a generous portion and it even tasted pretty good. Oh and there is a Paris Baguette located inside if you're a PB or pastry fan in general. The workers from cashiers, tasting corners to securities were all very friendly and welcoming. They have very spacious parking but the only thing I didn't like was the elevator. It closes so fast and when you press the button to let it stay open it just closes on you. There is only one elevator working right now which can be a bit annoying. Other than that everything else was to my liking so I will be back when they are fully stocked with more products and precooked items. read more
