Their products run the gamut, including a large Asian section. Aisles are nice and wide; lots of refrigerators. Overall, it's clean, bright, and well-stocked. Produce section is, overall, good with a lot of local goods. That said, they sometimes tend to leave withering and browning veggies out on display WAY beyond attractiveness going into decay. (Our last visit had the same rotting celery on display/sale from a visit several days earlier! It was pretty gross-looking. Thus, 4 instead of 5 stars.) Other than that one glaring negative, customer service can be spotty and downright oblivious (but, it's status quo for much of today's young workforce). And, too, expect maximum pricing on, at least, plant-based/vegan products. (Can rival Brewer's Tiller & Rye for outrageous pricing!) These negatives aside, NLC offers a great variety for vegans in Bangor that can't be overlooked! (But, in all honesty, living in Bucksport, we tend to head to Belfast to shop plant-based. However, Natural Living Center recently started carrying a good number of locally-made Midcoast Vegan products (which we LOVE!), so that looks to be a lure for our steady return, for now. Not super cheap but quality cuts of classic meats. We opted for a Tomahawk ribeye and it was simply delicious on the grill! We will be having the pecan smoked pork slices for breakfast tomorrow and I'm certain they will be excellent! We were driving through and wanted a good, quality steak cut and they delivered! When you first walk in you expect an old rundown village store and find quite the opposite. It is super clean inside. This little store has a walk up counter to order food and a few seats. The breakfast menu is rather small but has all the needed breakfast staples. The food is terrific, and the service is quick and friendly. You really couldn't ask for more. You an pick out your drink from the large row of coolers or hot coffee. You pay at the front of the store and leave feeling like your business is appreciated. Looking forward to our next trip.

The coconut foam holds up well. Coconut milk is the only milk alternative option they offer as of 7/11/2026. The place was very busy. The staff was working very hard. There is a sign at the front saying "if you're in a rush, we may not be the best stop for you today." They are upfront that the ordering wait and getting your drinks will both be a while. Aesthetically very pleasing, owners did a lovely job decorating and curating a menu off the beaten path of other coffee shops. There is a sign alerting patrons that good things take time, would probably be helpful to have that sign in a more prominent place as folks get in line. I shared a treat with a friend and could have never had it myself-very generous portion. My husband enjoyed his coffee very much. We purchased a dog treat, $1 to bring back a treat for our dog-for the size $0.25 would have been the right price point.
