On 19 February 2026, I received an email stating: "We are scheduled to begin packing on 03/03/2026 and will load 03/05/2026." Shortly thereafter, I spoke with a company representative (believed to be Lisa) and informed her that the estimated 17,000 lbs was significantly inaccurate and that the shipment was closer to approximately 300 lbs, not requiring multiple packing or loading days. She agreed, and we verbally adjusted the schedule. However, I never received a confirmation email or any written follow-up reflecting this change. At approximately 1630 on 4 March 2026, I received a phone call stating movers would arrive between 0800-1000 on 5 March. I was told I would receive a call 30-60 minutes prior to arrival. When no movers arrived during the stated window and no advance call was received, I contacted the company and spoke with Heather B. During this call, I was informed that I was required to remain available from 0800-1700 per documentation that had allegedly been sent to me. When I requested clarification on when this communication had been sent, Heather was unable to provide a date or documentation and stated it was an automated email. I never received any such email beyond the 19 February message and the 4 March phone call. Additionally, I was informed that this availability requirement was "military policy" and that any concerns should be directed to the military. This response was inappropriate, as the issue was not policy, but rather a lack of clear communication and confirmed scheduling from the company. While I understand that moving schedules can shift and delays occur, the lack of written confirmation, inability to substantiate claims of prior communication, and the unprofessional tone during my conversation with Heather were unacceptable. During the call, I was interrupted repeatedly and spoken over to the point that I had to state twice that I was not attempting to argue but simply resolve the issue. After reading Brandi H's review, I believe the Trading Post is a total scam. The exact same thing happened to me. The rep quoted 32 hours and $1760 over the phone to move our three bedroom, one level, 1890 SF home. One bedroom was not being moved at all and one was used as an office with a small desk, office chair and recliner. I was very honest in telling her what was to be moved. I walked room by room and listed everything to me moved using clear descriptions and telling her what furniture was very heavy. I had moved the same furniture two years earlier and it took less than 32 hours and the cost was $1280. The Trading Post was moving wall art and TVs, which I had moved before so I thought the extra $480 was reasonable. The actual move took 57 hours and cost $3500! The extra time was spent wrapping wall art in padded paper, then a blanket, then in cardboard. Rubbermaid containers were packed the same way. While no care was taken to wrap furniture or appliances in blankets. My Rubbermaid containers were secured while by furniture and washer/dryer are scratched. They also packed items not in the quote because they CHOSE to pack them. I wanted to use their blankets to wrap hanging clothes and move them like rolls of carpet myself. They INSISTED on packing them in wardrobe boxes because it was "easier on them." It took me three hours to unpack and put away what they packed, not 25 hours! Management was not the slightest bit concerned about the time it took compared to the quote. The rep told me she usually went on site to give a quote, but felt confident her quote was accurate because I was so specific about what was to be moved. She said she is usually "right on it" with her verbal quotes, but acknowledged she should have come on site to view the items. She also told me they didn't charge me of any packing materials. Read the Georgia Department of Public Safety's website on in-state moves in Georgia - packing materials are INCLUDED in the quoted price. I wrote an email to management asking them to consider honoring their quote as there was no justification for a 32 hour move to take 57 hours. Remember the same items were moved two years ago in less than 32 hours. My email was completely ignored and not answered. On day one of the move, they delivered a few of our items to our new house and returned the following day to unload everything else. I had told management they were not to drive the moving van on our newly poured concrete. She was adamant that they knew not to do that, but would tell them. Well, they drove on the concrete and busted a huge 4' x 5' chunk off one corner. The driver knew he broke it, but said nothing to us. We discovered it the following morning. Management came up on Day 2 to view the damage. I was instructed on how I should file the property damage claim with their insurance! Very customer-service oriented - not. While management was on site, the movers told him that one of the movers was sick to his stomach and could not keep water or Gatorade down. They asked him to take the sick worker back with him, but he said he had other places to go. It turns out the worker was having a HEAT STROKE and was admitted to the hospital later than night with his kidneys beginning to shut down. He worked four hours before becoming unable to work at all, but I was billed for the entire time he was here. All the while, I was keeping ice packs on this neck to cool him down. Management showed no concern for their employee's health. My husband suggested to this manager that they provide rechargeable tools to improve efficiency and productivity for their employees. He said they provided the necessary tools to their workers and they could choose automated or manual tools, and then their pay was docked for what they chose. Who would choose to have their pay docked for the more expensive tools? All the while, the Trading Post racks up more unnecessary hours. This was the worst moving experience of our lives. The representative quoted me a price over the phone for moving expenses after asking several questions. We'd packed and moved the majority of our personal property to storage already so the main items left were furniture items, lawn maintenance items, patio furniture, and a few items used up to the last minute that needed to be packed (lamps, TVs, cable boxes). The movers were there 4 hours before ANYTHING was loaded on the truck. This time was spent wrapping EVERYTHING in blankets. The movers repeatedly called their boss and asked for extra help and were denied this. The quote was for 5.5 hours. Twelve hours after they arrived (and more than double the price later), our belongings were moved to storage. You read that right...it took 12 hours to move a one story 1600 square foot house to STORAGE. Needless to say, we used a different company to move our belongings from storage to the bigger, multi-story house and it only took them 7 hours including putting our furniture back together. Trading Post management was unwilling to compromise on the price, even though they acknowledged they should've performed an in person inspection to provide a more accurate quote. Even with this, everyone I've spoken with has indicated 12 hours was insanely long for the size of house and level of furniture we have. Management indicated they didn't charge us a packing fee or fee for additional boxes used, but in the initial call for the estimate, the rep said he'd give us the boxes for free so I was unimpressed with that "compromise". There was also no mention of any potential packing fee for items used up to the last minute and packed at the end. They only gave me a simple $X per hour quote. This leads me to believe that the packing fee was contrived simply so they could make it appear as if they were compromising. We were moving twice in a two week period. They could've saved us as customers if they'd been willing to compromise at just 9 hours. I was willing to be reasonable and split the difference. But they had no interest in customer service. After all of this, I'm sure you think our furniture was in excellent condition at least. Well, it was in no better condition than it would've been if blankets had just been thrown over the furniture. The taped blankets were able to slide up so the legs of a lot of the furniture are scuffed. They taped my washing machine lid closed so now it has sticky tape remnants that I have to clean. None of this is a huge deal, but it just goes to show that even with 12 hours, everything wasn't pristine. My MAIN complaint in all this is how management handled everything. They were very uncaring about the customer service aspect of it all and the gross underestimation they provided. I was as honest as I could be when answering his quote questions with the exception of leaving out 1 refrigerator. However, 1 refrigerator does not a 6.5 hour difference make. They did not seem to care whatsoever about my repeat business or what I would tell others of my experience. The company that moved us the second time was extremely appreciative of our business and left me with a MUCH better feeling when it was all done. I highly recommend skipping this company and finding one that will appreciate you as a customer. read more

The gentlemen delivering my items failed to call ahead, making a BS excuse about how they are too busy to follow this common courtesy. Although upon arrival they were courteous, they did not fully assemble all my furniture. A desk immediately fell apart when sitting on it.
